View 1 RepliesIs there a way to input the exclamation mark "!" When I'm using the Google pinyin ime on the milestone's hardware keyboard? In fact there shld be plenty of other symbols i cant find on the hardkeyboard, just that i havent realised it yet.
Currently any time i want to input the "!" I have to shut the hardkeyboard and go to the soft keyboard for the symbols menu and this feels semi-******ed...
Anyway, i was wondering if there are any applications where I can type Chinese pin yin and choose the characters for both SMS and for contacts' names? I've used a couple ones available on the market but they weren't very good/confusing/ didn't always work. I saw a couple post about Chinese Pinyin I ME, I tried to search for it on the market but I couldn't find it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to show a custom input field (specifically, one containing only 9-0 and two extra buttons containing decimal separator (, or .) and a delete button). I could create a custom IME, but (as far as I know) that would have to be set by the user as the system-wide input method. Is there a way to implement an input method and bind it to a specific input field?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried Unified Remote and WinApp off the market, both highly rated, both practically useless for me, if for example you run a setup program the input just stops working so you have to plug a mouse in to complete which completely renders the app pointless to me. That was just an example, all of the ones I've tried have been so flakey as to be frustrating.
Are there any apps that can act as keyboard and mouse for a remote windows system that actually work 100% of the time?
Okay, so I know that Google changed the way we choose our keyboards/input methods in ICS, so instead of long-pressing a text-area, we can pull down the notification menu, and choose "select input type"...
However, when I'm typing something while within the default Internet browser, I can't see the notification bar, nor can I find a way to switch input methods... I generally use Swype as my default keyboard, but sometimes need to switch to the stock keyboard. How to accomplish this without leaving the browser?
I just got a 2010 Infiniti G37. It has a USB port, but no aux input and no Bluetooth audio streaming (wtf Infiniti?). It reads and plays iPods and iPhones just fine. I can not get it to recognize my android phone at all (Motorola triumph running stock 2.2 rooted). It will recognize flash drives though. I think the problem with the phone is it takes a few seconds to click 'connect USB storage' and then 'ok' before it reports itself as a mass storage device. By that time the car is already reporting an error. I have tried with debugging on and off.. is there any tweak, app, or hack I can do to force my phone into USB mode (without the prompts) every time I connect it?
This is actually a pretty important feature to me and I'm disappointed I can't get my phone and new car to play nice. Might even consider switching to an iPhone if there is no other option.
I was wondering if there was a way to add Japanese as an language input for the Android keyboard? By default, there is no option to add Japanese as a llanguage input, and all other keyboards that have it are either ugly, don't have ICS as an optional theme or just too much, I prefer the stock Android keyboard on ICS over anything else and I'm sure there are some of you that agree. It would be nice to have this and other possible languages as optional languages on this keyboard.

My phone seems to register double touch input while i am only using one finger. It only happens only when i pass the my finger over the middle of the screen, ie. a horizontal line in the middle of the screen. This is affecting scrolling and tapping on anything in the middle of the screen.
I just want to know if this a software (calibration) issue or a problem with the screen itself.
See attached a screenshot of multi-touch test using 'Display Tester'.
I recently cracked the digitizer on my Asus Padfone 2 Tablet and I got a replacement digitizer from Ebay.
However, after replacing it, I noticed the x-axis is flipped.
How can I reverse it? Can it be done via editing some files?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a Samsung Galaxy S3 and am trying to write a shell script that will simulate screen presses in a very rapid fashion. To do so, I stumbled across the "input tap" function from /system/bin/input and my script looks like this:
Code:
x=1
while [ $x -lt 10 ]
do
input tap 640 110
(( x++ ))
done
Anyway, the code works great in that it will tap the screen at location 640,100. However, each call to "input tap" takes almost a second to return. My script takes around 10 seconds to complete. However, I was hoping to find a way to speed up the call to "input tap". I am not sure if this is a limitation of my phone.
Lost wifi again! was doing the normal backup and return to stock again to get the wifi back and it packed up on me, no longer accepting touch input. So I am stuck can't try to reload it, in the hope its software. Right now its version 2.0.5 or something like that. Can't use the recovery since the touch is not working. Is there any working non-touch recoverys or is there a stock like firmware that can be loaded with out twrp touch. I still can fastboot flash the recoveries none work I have tried all the twrp version I could find.
I can plug a mouse in with a usbtg adapter but that is not useable in twrp.
I have opened it up to make sure a cable was not loose on the screen, and it was not dropped or broken in anyway.
I got a pair of LG HBS-730 to input voice commands to my SG-N7100, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm on a stock CM10.1 and grab the input from Autovoice (a nifty Tasker plugin).
Depending on whether I activate Phone, Media or both in the Bluetooth settings of the headset, the input is either solely grabbed from the phone's microphone or is ignored.
I tried BTMono, BT Launch and a few other apps, but it seems to be Android related. [URL] ....
I also tried disabling/renaming VoiceDialer.apk, but it only works with the headset button presses not with the microphone issue.
I'll try anything at this point (including dabbling with Java and Android Intents).
contacts that i input on my Galaxy S3 do not sync with Gmail Yet - contacts entered in Gmail sync with the S3
i checked the Sync settings on the S3 - everything seems to look okay
I can't understand why there is not an official Google Version. Why is it Apple with iOS 7 ships their phones with this option.
Yet it seems with an Android phone their is no official Google Support for Traditional Chinese Handwriting Input.
I am running a Nexus 4.
In a WIP for create a CWM for Galaxy Music GT-S6010 I doing a wrong operation.
First at all I've dumped the recovery of my phone and used CWM builder online, but the recovery didn't work.
I have founded a recovery of another smartphone that I think has similar hardware, the GT-S5310. I have flashed the CWM recovery of this other phone and the result is:
1) The CWM work. It seems to work well.
2) The touch screen behavior is bad. Is incorrect and inverted. In some point when touch with one finger the result give two touch.
I think that the problem is software not hardware, because with bluetooth mouse and keyboard the phone work well.
I have already tried many times, in this order:
1) restore the original recovery;
2) flash the stock firmware;
3) flash the CWM, doing a clean cache, format /sysem, format /cache, clean dalvik cache;
But not solved.
I have a sony xperia T and have just upgraded my rom to cynogen mod 11, the only problem is as soon as I went to set it up (which I did manage to complete) I had a blue/white tint circle on my screen. I can move the circle but it is hard to use for example I have to have it on a certain area to click the thing I want to click.

I used to use the Samsung Keyboard with English and the Chinese language input (downloaded in it's language settings).
But after a hard rest (My phone had recently updated itself to 4.3 with no change) I no longer have Chinese as a downloadable language.
WHY is this so annoying... Becuase if I use another keyboard that has chinese I can't swap between it and the Samsung Keyboard in Keyboard. The Samsung has to be selects in the phone setting and can't be selected as one of many keyboards.
The reason why I wish to use the Samsung keyboard is becuase of its great swipe input function. I have not found another keyboard that has swipe in English and Chinese input funtionality.
Which means I can never using any combo of keyboards swap easily from chinese to swipe english keyboard.
I think It has something to do with the locale version of the 4.3 android os. I heard that different locales have different downloadable language options. But why has mine sudenly changed!
I'm looking for an Xsposed module that hides the keyboard input selector from the status bar. I know some custom ROMs have this but I'm looking for one that works on stock android.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy friend claims that when he plugs his G1 into his car stereo AUX input, he can leave his phone on the dash and just make regular calls w/o using speaker phone. He says that the voice is pretty clear on the other end. Has anyone tried this with their previous phones? More importantly, does anyone know if the mic on the EVO would be sensitive enough to make descent calls via AUX? I know that it would depend on the background noise in the cabin as well, but I just wanna know if it'll work decently in an average car. this would alleviate the need for a bluetooth headset, which i dread using.
