Currently I have auto-sync checked and under my gmail account I have calendar, contacts, and gmail 'checked' to sync.Does this have a big effect on battery? Or should I just uncheck calendar and contacts and only sync those manually?

I would like to show a custom input field (specifically, one containing only 9-0 and two extra buttons containing decimal separator (, or .) and a delete button). I could create a custom IME, but (as far as I know) that would have to be set by the user as the system-wide input method. Is there a way to implement an input method and bind it to a specific input field?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI love my new Android phone, and I am able to sync my songs/podcasts just fine using Easy Phone Tunes.
But I really liked that my iPod/iPhone would sync perfectly with my podcasts. If I played 15 minutes of the Dave Ramsey show on my iPhone, and then connected it to my computer, then I could continue the show on my computer. Additionally, after I connected my iPhone to the computer, I knew which podcasts to delete as it would show them as "played".
Is there a way to accomplish this with the Android phone? I am willing to give up on iTunes to make this happen. I am still using a Mac though.
My friend claims that when he plugs his G1 into his car stereo AUX input, he can leave his phone on the dash and just make regular calls w/o using speaker phone. He says that the voice is pretty clear on the other end. Has anyone tried this with their previous phones? More importantly, does anyone know if the mic on the EVO would be sensitive enough to make descent calls via AUX? I know that it would depend on the background noise in the cabin as well, but I just wanna know if it'll work decently in an average car. this would alleviate the need for a bluetooth headset, which i dread using.

I am having a significant issue using the Evo in my car for music. As soon as I hit play, it starts skipping through songs... playing 1-2 seconds and then skipping to the next. I have not had this issue using earbuds- just the 3.5mm cable into my car's aux input. Searching, I found a similar issue with the HTC Incredible on the HTC support forum.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have come across a strange bug while developing my web application. It seems as though with an input field selected, on some keystrokes, the entire page scrolls up by about 50px. There seems to be no logical pattern, ryhme or reason as to which keys trigger the scrolling jump. I am contuning to test this, but can not seem to find the source of the problem. This continues even as the input field goes off the screen. As the browser reaches the bottom of the page, it will then jump all the way to the top of the page and continue scrolling down.
A co-worker of mine said that he has seen this before but was unable to find the the cause for this problem. It only happens on the Android I am testing on.
Additional Information: I am using the Nexus One with Android 2.2. I am using the default Android Web Browser. My web page is using the jQuery and jQtouch frameworks. This only happens on this phone and does not replicate on the HTC Evo running 2.2

I went to settings-keyboard & language and checked these keyboards, but when I typed text, only the default HTC touch input keyboard popped out, I did not find any key to switch. I did not find a way to disable the touch input keyboard either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt works for me for a bit but then I get the animated circle and the prompt never comes up. Then if I back out of it and come back into the keyboard, all I get is a click when I hit the microphone. The only way to get it to work is restart the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI live in Belgium, the Dutch part, and we use AZERTY keyboards here. My phone is in Dutch, but I could only choose "Dutch (The Netherlands)". In the Netherlands they speak dutch but use QUERTY. So, what I did was leave my phone in "Dutch (The Netherlands)", but I am using the French AZERTY keyboard.
The problem is, that the autocorrect now is also in French. When i typ a word the autocorrect shows a dutch suggestion, a french sugestion and an english suggestion. By default (pressing the spacebar) the phone chooses the French suggestion. Is there anyway to have an AZERTY keyboard and have the Dutch suggestion by default?
Updated my X10 abou 3days ago to Android 2.1 and ever since I can not display the Japanes keyboard. I have set location as Japanese but the standard keyboard option does not give me Japanese option for input language. I can read and browse Japanse without problem but when I create message, or simply reply e-mails /Text, I can not input any Japansese. It was working find before the update. Does anybody have a clue??
