The title says all, the decompiling is succesfull, but i cant recompile any apk, this is the log when i try to recompile holo launcher. (using the last apktool)
and the same happen even if i dont edit nothing on the apk and try to recompile.

I've been able to successfully disassemble the Google Now apk for ICS devices and made a change to the sounds it makes for "open" and "success". However, xdaAutoTool displays a lot of errors when I try to recompile it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to add some function to my system music player app. So I decompiled the classes.dex with dex2jar, copied the source code and add the code for my functions. Now my problem is that I do not know how to recompile the app. I can't compile it with Eclipse because it uses some system namespaces (in Eclipse it is an error so I can't compile) How can I recompile the app? I only have the *.java files.
Or can't I use the java files and have to edit the smali files? Of course that's much harder...
I can decompile and recompile framework-res.apk and other apps successfully, but every time I decompile a theme chooser *.apk I get errors trying to recompile.
Is there a trick to this? I am running Reaper 3.0(CyanogenMod 7) installed the framework via installation options(that's all), have paths to platform-tools, tools etc.. The latest Android SDK installed (and all the others..)

I'm interested in an app to decompile apps within android. Something like ninjamorph would be great however ninjamorph seems to do the equivalent of extracting an apk instead of leaving an editable app with readable xml files. What is the likelihood of something like this happening? What is preventing it from happening?

But obviously that's unsigned. I need to sign it, but I want to use the original signature, which I'm guessing is the META-INF stuff, right? So I attempted this...

You'll notice I now use 7-Zip to pull out META-INF from the original APK and then insert it back into the recompiled one afterwards.
The only other thing I can think of would be to go with my first method, but then use 7-zip to pull out the compiled files from the unsigned apk and insert them into the signed apk. I haven't tried that yet, but it will be the next one I go with. Every time this fails, though, I have to do a nandroid restore.
For those interested, after running "apktool b" (to build/compile), ignore the output zip. Instead go into the source directory and there is now a build directory. In that is an apk directory. Simply add your changed files to the original untouched APK (if you modified any XML files, then replace resources.arsc; if you added anything to smali, then replace classes.dex; if you added any XML files, then you need to include those as well; for me, i copied resources.arsc, classes.dex, and one new XML file). I used the following command:

I use zip instead of 7za for cosmetic reasons. You can also use "7za a -tzip etc..." if you want.
I'm trying to recompile AnimationDrawable class ( source code tooked from android source ) but I get some errors...
It says "The constructor DrawableContainer.DrawableContainerState (AnimationDrawable.AnimationState, AnimationDrawable) is undefined". Any ideas how to fix it?
It seems there is a general voice search / voice recognition issue with non-english languages. The problem is basically that punctuation is written in plain and not recognized. It seems to affect a number of devices (if not all?) running ICS / JB.
So period will write "period" and not "." .
Same for comma that will end in writing "comma" and not ",".
(this of course in each different Language)
This basically makes the voice recognition totally unusable and useless for anything but English. So far, this issue has been reported with the following languages:
French
German
Spanish
Italian

I am trying to get in to the General Settings page in Gmail on my Hudl to change the "swipe to delete" value, but I cannot find the page. When I go into settings there is a General link but it only shows
- Auto advance
- Message text size
- Ask to show pictures
I have tried different contexts, inbox, recycle bin, unread email, read email, but cannot find this setting, in fact according to the Google support page I am missing a whole range of settings.
Recently I bought new General mobile discovery, but I don't know how to root it because I havn't got any tutorial bout rooting general mobile discovery.

I have been working on an issue that involves opening the zip file and then edit and replace certain files. I have seen a few posts in the past where it says to replace certain files in a rom, but everytime that I do I get an error after flashing. After flashing and boots to the main screen that asks you to touch the android, I get an error that says "Sorry, the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" and the only option is to click on Force Close, but it just keeps coming back. Something is definitely not right with replacing files in a rom, but Im not sure if there's even a correct way. Im using winrar as everyone has mentioned. I have tried using the Fix Permissions option in the Clockwork Recovery also, but no luck. Only option is to reflash. Does the whole rom need to be recompiled?

This is the main reason I've held on to my iPod. Do one of these syncing apps identically mimic how iTunes works with apple products? So basically i could plug my phone in, check off the podcasts and click sync? I was hesitant to pay for one of them without knowing for sure if it worked identical to iTunes without a bunch of extra steps.

About a month ago, while in my back yard, I noticed that my Note2 was indicating 4G LTE. Problem is that as soon as I walk in my house, the signal switches to 3g. I wish that there was a way to force my phone to stay on 4g because even when the signal is very weak it's still 10 times faster than my home internet or 3g. Or is there a way to boost a 4g lte signal?

Now in not my most brightest of moments, I plugged it into my charger. When I later checked, I felt that the back was warm, so I unplugged it. The phone would still not turn on so I put It in rice. I then ordered a repair kit to open the back to open and apply rice (it came very late), and once this was done it still did not turn. Now the water damage indicator in the sim slot changed color, but I am not actually sure how to proceed. Can I do anything to salvage this phone or should I just get a new one?
