Has noticed tremendous increase in battery drain from Google Play Services the past few days? My HTC One on 4.4 has been murdered this week and I haven't changed anything on my phone.

i just cant get any app that needs this to work at all, even if i got the play services apk and the latest google play apk, not in any version of bluestacks does it work.
View 4 Replies View Relatedafter I had surfing internet for a while, I had found a workaround and successfully installed Google Play Services on my device (GT-S5300) with custom rom.

Steps:
1. Download Gapps for your ROM here.
2. Turn off your phone.
3. Enter recovery mode and do Wipe data/factory reset. (Make sure that you have backed up everything.)
4. Flash the Gapps.
5. Wipe Dalvik cache and cache partition then reboot.
6. Get the lastest version of Google Play Store and install it.
7. Update all the Gapps via Play Store.
8. Then install Google Play Services and done!
Or open the Market (Play Store) and tap agree. Then press home and leave it awhile. After the Play Store is updated, open it and tap agree again. The new Play Store should download Google Play Services and install it for you.
NOTE: It may NOT working with some ROMs.
Before that, I was on CM 10.2 and GAPPS that comes with it, I was able to use the market even though I uninstalled the Google services apk, everything worked just fine. Maps sometimes said somethin' like "best experience with google services", but it actually did work smoothy...
Now I installed CM11 with new GAPPS, and when I disable Google services, then Play store tells me that it can't run without it, and just closes without letting me download any app.
Is there any way do bypass this check ? I fight any app running as a service when it's not needed (battery life, data consumsion, privacy), that's why I don't want to have the Google services on my phone.
I have a concern about accessing all Google Play Services from non authorized countries. I think it's a shame there are so many people in so many countries prevented from bying content on play store. Thought first of a petition, but not sure it can have effects. Had a look on xda, there is already a old thread on the subject but not working for most of the repliers, specially me.
Thought some developers would be interested in giving acces to a larger number of people. Looks like more justice to me.

My problem:
I updated the YouTube app from Google Play Store a few days ago. After it was updated, I tried to open it, but a message popped up saying that I needed to install Google Play Services and linked me to the app's Play Store page. Google Play Services downloads fine, but during the installation process, an error message pops up, saying:
"Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID."
I don't have a custom ROM or a custom kernel; they're both stock.
Phone settings: Location : Battery Saving (GPS off, using Wifi/network location only)
On Google Play Services 4.0.x - I get very accurate location small circle around where my house is.
After updating to 4.2.25 - I get a large circle - maybe the radius of an entire block / surface area of a cell tower coverage roughly
Uninstall the update to play services (back to 4.0.x) - get very accurate location again.
I am using a RAZR HD with 4.4.2 kit kat / CM11.
Did play services update broke my specific phone?
I would stay on the older Play Services but Hangouts and Maps keep bitching about needing to update it.
I need to delete Google Play Service completely from my phone or totally disable it! Even when I disable it, using phone "disable feature" Google play service and all it's apps are still eating my battery 45% (Running). The only way to kill it it's root my phone? I can't find way to contact Google or Android there is no email on the internet! Many people want to delete Google Play Services I've seen a lot of threads but found no solution! Until a couple of weeks ago turning of network location seemed to fix the issue but now even with network location turned off Google Services are constantly shown as eating 40-50% battery in the general settings. I have not changed any settings or installed any new apps.

I can't believe that Google will not use Standalone GPS services if Wi-Fi & mobile network location is disabled. So, the only way to use Maps is to put the phone in excessive battery drain mode.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAll Access, however really hating the battery drain I am getting with the updated app. My battery drain problems started immediately after updating from the pre-All Access version which I never had trouble with. Now it hogs all my battery. Even overnight when I'm sleeping, and the app is not be used and fully exited using the back button, I am getting a loss of 10% battery life per hour. Actually using my phone is even worse. In fact it's rather unusable at this rate of drain. In about 45 minutes of GPMAA use, it lost 25% battery life!
Unchecking the Google Music sync from their account section in settings. I did that, but still getting horrible battery life. Short of uninstalling this app, and losing a service I am really starting to like, what can I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems (After i updated to 4.3) with my battery (I have an s4 gt I9500), so i did a little research about wakelocks and i found that there are 2 that were making that my phone didnt go to deep sleep, the wakelocks were "exynos5-fb.1" and "l2_hsic" in the description of battery, it appears that "Android OS" is almost always working . I have restore my cell phone to factory settings and the problem hasn't gone yet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently downloaded the Tubemate Slide app, an update of the Tubemate, but uninstalled it soon after as it didn't work fully (audio was not downloaded).However, when I checked my battery performance later today (on my Nexus 10), I saw the app is still draining 50% of my battery!!
I don't know how it can still be on my tablet when I've uninstalled it. I've also ran a search through File Manager, but nothing came up.. I've also turned my tablet on and off, but to no avail. Finally, I tried clicking on the icon/message in the battery 'window' (to get more info about the app), but the buttons 'force stop' and 'report' are greyed out for some reason.
The app was also not listed under Settings > Apps > All apps.
With mobile data on, the batter drains like anything.The 3G coverage in my area is not so good and hence it switches continuously between H, 3G & 2G.
Is there any app that measures battey drain, mentioning the usage when data is on?

I have a very big problem, as my Nexus One is draining heavily. My Nexus One drains 1% every 4 minutes, no matter which ROM I install Sense, AOKP ICS, MIUI (ICS) and even Stock. The battery remains the same, I have tried various options: from calibrating the battery, wiping battery stats to purchasing a new battery. Neither of those options worked out. The battery still remains the same. My guess is that it's a hardware error.I have no guarantee, as my bootloader is unlocked and I opened the phone once.
