With mobile data on, the batter drains like anything.The 3G coverage in my area is not so good and hence it switches continuously between H, 3G & 2G.
Is there any app that measures battey drain, mentioning the usage when data is on?
Am using Galaxy S3, GT-I9300.
It is now with Jellybean 4.1.2.

My phone suddenly switches off and battery goes down from 70 - 80 % to 2 - 3%. this usually happens when mobile network is switched on. is there a problem with battery or some app is causing this??

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems (After i updated to 4.3) with my battery (I have an s4 gt I9500), so i did a little research about wakelocks and i found that there are 2 that were making that my phone didnt go to deep sleep, the wakelocks were "exynos5-fb.1" and "l2_hsic" in the description of battery, it appears that "Android OS" is almost always working . I have restore my cell phone to factory settings and the problem hasn't gone yet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently downloaded the Tubemate Slide app, an update of the Tubemate, but uninstalled it soon after as it didn't work fully (audio was not downloaded).However, when I checked my battery performance later today (on my Nexus 10), I saw the app is still draining 50% of my battery!!
I don't know how it can still be on my tablet when I've uninstalled it. I've also ran a search through File Manager, but nothing came up.. I've also turned my tablet on and off, but to no avail. Finally, I tried clicking on the icon/message in the battery 'window' (to get more info about the app), but the buttons 'force stop' and 'report' are greyed out for some reason.
The app was also not listed under Settings > Apps > All apps.
I have a very big problem, as my Nexus One is draining heavily. My Nexus One drains 1% every 4 minutes, no matter which ROM I install Sense, AOKP ICS, MIUI (ICS) and even Stock. The battery remains the same, I have tried various options: from calibrating the battery, wiping battery stats to purchasing a new battery. Neither of those options worked out. The battery still remains the same. My guess is that it's a hardware error.I have no guarantee, as my bootloader is unlocked and I opened the phone once.

View 5 Replies View RelatedStarting yesterday I noticed that my battery was draining faster than usual, the phone having died after being used for half the day, when it typically makes it the full day. Nothing was being used more or less, and all of the application managers and battery life charts indicated that everything was running as normal. Then this morning after having the phone charged for the entire night, it tells me that on the remaining battery life the phone will only last about 7 minutes, and the percentage is dropping rapidly (about a percent every 30 seconds) .
View 2 Replies View Relatedi bought x10 mini in february 2012. after some days i rooted the phone. and after some days it starts auto turn off while sim is inserted. and sometimes it restarts automatically. when charger is connected, there is no problem, but when disconnected, it shuts down immediately. and sometimes it turns off while sim is not inserted but the "on time period" is about 2/3 hours. but when sim is inserted, it turns off immediately just aftrer switched on the phone. and there is a battery draining problem too. sometimes, as example, 90% charge becomes 23% after autorestart. i send it to sony ericsson service centre, but nothing has improved. and now i can see the phone is not rooted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is keeping my phone awake through the night and hence draining my battery rapidly. I am going to post screenshots and BetterBatteryStats dump file to make it as clear as possible.
Basically, what I see is that the phone was mostly awake at night and was in deep sleep only for about 1 hour. I don't think it is normal.
I am using xperia p with stock JB (unrooted). I have to charge it twice a day without even any significant use.
Sometimes battery just drains out by 10% or so with just an eye blink! Battery details showed that it's staying awake (or something is making it stay awake) while in sleep. Tried using BetterBatteryStats to find the draining app. But just 'kworker' and 'admsrv (or something like this)' seemed to be the only problems. Tried flashing and/or factory resetting 5 or 6 times and still no improvement.
For some reason my battery is draing QUICK in a couple hours goes dead, thinking must be some bad app? I deleted a few of the last apps I installed but it could be an update, wish it was easier to solve, but now Media is my number one battery usage, even after I uninstalled a couple new apps.

I've tried Battery-fu but I get an apn error all the time which stops the mobile data toggle working - which kinda defeats the object.
It would be handy to have mobile data ennoblement automated in case three battery gets low when you're not near a power source.

In android 4.0 and above there is the option in the data usage settings, to turn mobile data on and off. What difference does it exactly make? As fas as I tested, I still can take a look at my mobile data usage, even though it is tuned off in the data usage settings.

Im using Tajm, BattStatt, 3g Watchdog, DroidStats, Internal and external memory notifications, retro clock.Ive got all of these as widgets spread out over the 7 screens.Also guys if your phone was not used all day and locked how much battery would you say would get used?
View 22 Replies View RelatedAfter the ota update I went from getting full day battery life with pretty heavy usage to 10 hours. The update was supposed to improve battery life but it made it worse. I tried going a day without using home++ (home replacement app ) and my battery life went from 10 to roughly 36 hours!!! So if you are one of those people complaining about battery life after update like I was,and you are using this app try taking it off. hope this helps some ppl.

Last night we watched in SystemPanel at the Net Receive indicator and it was constantly downloading at least 200+ kps. I had read about some issues with Facebook so we removed the Friendstream widget and saw the downloading go close to zero.
This morning, I checked the 8 hour monitoring in SystemPanel and saw that the CPU activity was still high overnight (running near 30%) and her battery drain was twice mine (over 13% used over ~7 hours, mine was around 5% drain).
I loaded up Spare Parts on her phone and was looked under Battery History, Network Usage and took this picture (sorry about the quality, her screen protector makes it hard to get a good picture and she is not rooted). Can anyone explain what UID 10006 is and why it is downloading so much data? I do not see it listed on my phone in Spare Parts. What do we need to do to turn this off or at least slow it down?
I am using BB V0.4 with Chevys 1.2 ghz ul kernel.My battery meter has been on 100% all morning normally it drains much faster than this. I know there is a CHANCE my battery just isn't being drained because of the 1.2 ghz ul, but it seems pretty slim to me. I have been using it for probably 4 hours without it going down form 100%.

Now I can have my phone always on for 7 days straight, that is 168 hrs (when using very limited wireless data connectivity of course), thanks to Galaxhero and some other tweaks.But anyway, lately I've been doing some tests regarding Google Latitude. I suspected that Latitude was messing (not just) a little bit with the battery life.So, yesterday at 9AM I unplugged the fully charged phone that had the Latitude feature on. Result: at 5PM the battery was at 90%.Today, I decided to turn off Latitude (leaving the rest of the configurations intact) and unplugged the fully charged phone again at 9AM. Result: it's 5PM and the battery status is at 100%.

Amazon MP3 came with the phone, yet my carrier won't support it ( cough Sprint ), they say call the application provider.I can't get a phone number to Android to give them a piece of my mind.I call Amazon and get sales people that don't want to listen and dump me on anyone they can find and are the wrong people. View 8 Replies View RelatedA while ago I got rid of Handcent because it was very laggy following updates.Having heard this had been fixed, I have downloaded it again and it's no longer laggy which is great.However, it is draining the battery. I know this because I've had the System Panel monitor on, and the history shows that the CPU usage for Handcent is high for about 15-20 minutes after I send a message (as opposed to the stock, which just goes down as soon as I've sent a message).Is there a setting somewhere on Handcent that I'm missing, that's keeping the CPU usage high?
View 22 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to get a feel for what the consensus view in this area is, as i'm slightly torn.On one hand i've read online (here I think, and elsewhere) that fully draining the battery regularly is bad for it and will damage its cells. (I'm not sure what regularly means, daily/weekly/monthly?) Hence i'm a little cautious to do it.However I tend to get far better batter usage after draining, turning the phone off and doing a full overnight recharge. Little top-ups, like taking it from 60% (where it reached through a day of medium usage) to 100% seems to result in inferior performance.A lot of people on here talk about overnight charging, which i've no problem doing. (In fact i'm used to it as my old Samsung Omnia required it) But 'how' do people do it? As in, do you regularly use 70-80% in a day and then leave it overnight? My current behaviour is to use it throughout the day in during (odd bit of browsing, txting, app usage etc) which can take 50-60%, then get home top-up for an hour or so, which gives me about 40% back, so I know i've got plenty in the evening when out.

View 20 Replies View RelatedThe last day or so after charging my phone to 100% overnight (phone is on when charging) and then putting in standby mode I'm losing like 5-7% of battery every hour.Over the weekend I was losing just 6% every 9 hours in standby mode. Today in 4 hours time I'm down to 65% already with mostly standby mode and a few minutes of browsing. I even had JuiceDefender installed since last night and it's not helping at all.To me it seems that something is in the background that is draining the battery though I when I check running services I don't see anything that shouldn't be there. When I was losing only 6% every 10 hours I did have a live wallpaper, weather/clock widget, and task killer. I didn't change anything on the next charge and now I'm constantly losing battery even in standby mode.
I have Wifi/GPS/background data off, brightness at minimum, no animations, etc. So pretty much followed all the battery saving pointers. I thought it was working good when I got just about 36 hours over the weekend with standby and moderate usage. So I don't know what has happened to my battery all of a sudden.The two times that I have managed to do 30+ hours on a single charge I had Advanced Task Killer running.However, even after doing 36 hours on one charge the next day even with ATK the battery started to drain a lot every hour in just standby. Anyone else having similar issues? I don't know what else to do at this time. I've uninstalled many of the apps thinking it might one of them causing the issue, but still having issues.

Over the weekend my battery was pretty good until I started playing with google maps. I accidently turned privacy on to lattitude and my battery was draining even though GPS was off. Lattitude will find you through tower location whcih uses cellular power! Much better this morning when I turned this feature off. In fact google sent me an email letting me know I forgot to turn it off.
