General :: Launcher With Vertically Scrolling Screens
Oct 24, 2012Are there any launcher out there that have a vertical scrolling screen so I can put all my widgets on one screen then just scroll up and down that one screen? I know Espier Launcher can do it, but the problem with that one is that I can not resize widgets.

i mean the scrolling in gb was smooth and had almost non-friction while in ics it stops faster-more friction...

General :: Flickering Objects When Scrolling
Jul 26, 2012When scrolling a list, homescreens or whatever, the moving object shimmers against the background, especially if there's a high contrast and a sharp edge between them. The effect ranges from mild (stock 2.3.5 Samsung Galaxy S I, Cyanogen 7.2 LG GT540, stock 2.3.5 LG P920 that I have at home and tested) to noticeable (Dell Streak 5, all the ROMs I tried so far, a few stock and a few custom, including MIUI). Since the Dell exhibits a reduced effect with LauncherPro, I'm guessing it's a software issue, a type of graphics acceleration that can be enabled globally, but isn't on this phone in any of the ROMs I tried. What's it called, and is there a line for it in build.prop, or something that can be added? I remember there was a hardware acceleration switch that could be enabled/disabled with the Blade Buddy app on some phones a while ago, but I downloaded the app on the Dell and the switch isn't there any more.

Oct 13, 2012Although I don't have any issues while using apps or playing games, sometimes when I scroll through my home screens it kinda jerks back and stays on the same screen as if I had not swiped it properly or something. I'm not sure if it's because I am so used to my phone which does not take as much effort or if this is an actual problem.

Jun 30, 2012Basically I trying to setup a homescreen in which part of it can scroll vertically, but another part doesn't move. I currently have Lightning Launcher, which is great by the way, but I can only set it up so that the entire screen scrolls. I was thinking it would be nice for have a spot on the left side of the screen for favorite apps and maybe some widgets (I guess you could call it a "dock"), and on the right side of the screen have a scrolling list of the rest of my applications. Probably with 1/3 of the screen being the left portion and 2/3 being the right portion. Can this be done with Lightning Launcher? or any other launcher? and how?

Mar 10, 2014Up until several days ago/yesterday you could scroll through the home screens in a circular manner( ie swiping the finger in one direction while the last screen would be replaced by the first one). Now all the sudden I see that my screens are like between two walls, when you reach the right or the left end you can't continiue further.
Is this some change in the settings someone made accidentally?

As most of you know that after downloading it, pressing the home button gives you the option of which home screen launcher that you want to..well.. launch..either HTC Sense or Launcher Pro. Well this morning I picked Launcher Pro, but accidently clicked the "don't ask me this again" box before that, so now I'm stuck on Launcher Pro and can't get back to my, or any, HTC Sense launcher. I've gone all through my settings and can't figure it out. I'd like to either get back to my old HTC Sense home screen, get to the DEFAULT HTC Sense homescreen, or get back to being able to have the option to pick which one I want to launch.

Jul 20, 2010I've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

Cool tablet but coming from Blackberry Playbook (still own it) it just kills me that the taskbar (i think this is how it is called) is always visible whether watching a movie or playing a game. My samsung is supposed to get ICS update soon and i am wondering if it has option to hide taskbar? Having it always visiblereally ruins whole experience playing games or watching movies.

Feb 7, 2013I have recently bought QMobile A8 phone which in "about phone" says ics 4.0.4 and has the notification swipe to close and long press home key and swipe to close background apps but in settings-> apps it does not show "all" button neither there is a way to disable apps. I installed advanced task killer and could find the disable button in few apps by force stop detail option in advanced task killer and disabled maps and few other. Now where to find them since I don't have the "all" button in settings-> apps where at the bottom there are disabled apps in my other android devices.
