Which xml/class controls the dim behind notification panel expand? I'd like to disable it but i can't find it (i'd prefer to do it, and anyway i don't think that there is an xposed module for this).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's my phone or what but when I look up the Other Usage on my phone, it shows it "Running" more than 2/3 of the time. And on Network Usage, "Android System" and "Media" use a great deal of the phone as well.I think this might have to do with my "android.process.acore" crashing every once in a while when it's asleep. Based on everyone's feedback I might have to return the Moment for a third time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using HTC Desire S for about 2 yrs now, but since I am not a power user, I just use it as it came. Now considering to root it and was looking more closely at things and I see there are many services running in the background under "Running".
I don't know the inner workings of Android system, so would like to know if more services are running (especially from apps which I don't regularly use) then does it effect battery life and does it make the phone slower ?
For example under Calendar, 4 services are running - AutoSettingService, ImmediateModeService, DashboardService,ConnecttoPcService.
Google Maps has TrafficAppWidgetUpdateService and PrefetcherService ( I rarely use Google maps because I use offline rmaps)
Another thing is I have a prepaid connection without a data plan so I would like to control which apps connect to the net when i switch on 3G - i mean I would prefer if only the app which I want to use the data should use it, while others should not.
And there are some things taking data, which i don't really understand - but since they are related to Android system I am not sure whether to try to restrict them (Android System, HTC Function test, HTC Checkin service, Settings storage, VPN, Status bar, Bluetooth, Google backpp transport, etc, Phone, Dialer Storage, SIM toolkit)
Any general idea about these services - battery and network usage and effect on responsiveness ?
My OEM's preloaded rom is almost-nearly stock, apart from 2 things:
1. White background on "system settings" interface and not the default holo. Cant that be changed to default?
2. Ribbon effect instead of flash-light in holo effect, which tbh is quite annoying, because the ribbon effect is also quite large and in slower animation speed so that,s 1 second of frustation everytime i scroll to the end. (Yea, 1 second isnt much but, add those up and it gets annoying really fast)
How can these be changed back to default without installing a custom rom?
Since I've been using the cm 10 and 10.1 based roms (4.1.x and 4.2.x, respectively) I've noticed the DSP Manager or Awesome beats audio effects randomly stop effecting the sound. It was noted here:
HTML Code: [URL] .....
That pausing and playing the audio player will re-enable the EQ effects. I normally use Google Music on the HTC Rezound running a variant of CM10.1 (4.2.2) but others have stated other devices and are doing this as well.
I just played with it by force closing the DSP manager process while listening to music. This did not in and of itself stop the EQ effects. Once I reopened the DSP manager app and again stop/start or pause played the effect was re enabled. Simply restarting the DSP manager app did not re enable the effect.
I have been using more data then usual this month and when I checked it showed my android os background was using the most but it won't show me what is actually using all of it.

I've got a ton of apps, so I'm looking for an app drawer replacement that allows me to sort apps by frequency of use. I'm imagining a list view that will sort my most used apps to the top (I'm bad at remembering app names, so it always takes me a while to find something).
I'd prefer some sort of standalone app organizer, not a launcher replacement, since I like the launcher I'm currently using.
i always listen about the ram used in android is different than windows..
My first question is, why RAM is like 90% used, the phone become slower??? My second question is, Why 99% of apps are always started with phone, when enter in Applications section, and see Running apps, you see millions of apps, or when you enter like, Calculator or Torch or another app details it appears Stop.. WHEN I STARTED IT?
Im now user of Galaxy S Duos, when i have Motorola Atrix using a custom rom named "Neutrino" my ram, after flash it was 80~90 and here in Galaxy S Duos is 390~500 and the max is 685mb so so, than when press clean RAM, it closes a certain number of processes but only 50mb ram max it decreases... Why?
Is there any device (phone or tablet) running Android 4.0.x that can display the native battery usage data via Settings --> Battery , instead of displaying "Battery usage data not available" ?
It is supposed to display a list of apps and what % of the battery they consumed.
Is there an app or any way to find network traffic for an app at real time? They way Chrome/IE dev tools allow you to monitor network requests and response.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got my first ICS phone. I'm looking at the data usage analysis tool, and I see that the vast majority of my data usage falls under the heading "Android OS", which sounds pretty generic. Is that some catch-all meaning "anything which doesn't fall under something else", or is it something more specific which I could easily control? What does "Android OS" mean in the context of Data Usage?

Most of the usage seems to be software updates, and google play store updates, and a few other apps being updated. Can it not wait to do those updates until wi fi is available to save my data. I'm with Orange btw, and the local wi fi netwrok is with O2.

Also when i use CpySpy app it doesnt show the time spent by the processor in the specified frequencies. It always shows 0 for all states. that is definitely not correct. The system can't be idle when I use right? So i'm wondering is there any issue with CM9 or my phone particularly. Also i have already used CM7 and CpySpy was giving me right numbers. why my battery drains even when my phone is in idle and why there are no numbers in CpuSpy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've created a custom toolbar using a gradient inside a shape. It looks very nice, but since we only have the option for 3 colors (startColor, centerColor, endColor) it looks very round. I would like to do a glass effect, which requires a sharp change in color in the middle. Basically I need 4 colors (startColor, justabovecenterColor, justbelowcenterColor, endColor). Now I could have two shapes sitting on top of each other to get this effect, but I don't want to do this. I'm getting into some tricky UI customization here and that would be very difficult to manage on different sized screens.

I am looking for Deep effect in Android gallery. i did some work around coverflow at http://www.inter-fuser.com/search/label/Coverflow but it also do scroll left and right. it does give me the idea to calculate offset top and left for each item separately but still there is no access. what i am trying to do is, when user scroll, images would scroll from deep behind the right edge to center and then to left side deep behind.i am wondering if anyone have some thought about arranging the imageView's on deep offset (something like V shape ) rather than on horizontal as it is.
