View 1 RepliesI am looking for a texting app that allows received text messages to be unlimited in length, without getting broken up into segments. Other improvements would be fine, but this is the one feature I am most interested in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever i receive a text message from a company e.g. T mobile texting my balance or backyard texting me to tell me my bill is available rather than saying "t mobile" or "backyard" on the text message it doesnt.it says the messages are from one of my facebook contacts whose number i dont even have!
View 7 Replies View RelatedLG's phones and the Galaxy S3 (not sure about the rest) have a gesture menu in the settings that lets you do stuff like switching to the next song by tapping on the right side of the phone, or sneeze the alarm by flipping the phone on it's face, so I was searching the internet for an app like this and they all showed screen gestures.I'm buying a Galaxy Nexus, but I want to have those gestures, so if you know any app that does so, or what word I can use for searching.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got GoClever brand tablet (model orion 70L). Everything works fine but when I want to zoom image/pdf using two finger gesture it is very slow. I neet do repeat it ten times to zoom image as I want to. Is there any option/application to make it "faster"?
P.S If I open google maps (preinstalled in tablet) this gesture works fine as in for example Angry Birds. So I think that its a software problem...
I have a Nexus 4 running stock 4.2.1 (rooted) and here is my issue with the gesture typing and predictive text. Anytime I try to use a word that google apparently believes is not appropriate. I have to stop and and type it out. Mind you that spell check does not think it's a misspelled word so there is no option to add it to the User Dictionary. It just will not show up as an option for either predictive text or gesture typing. Obviously these words have somehow been identified in google's stock dictionary so that they are not part of the pool of suggested words - probably along the lines of how the auto-complete of google searches are now censored.
It's incredibly annoying and I don't like the fact that google is dictating what standard English words can and cannot be part of gesture typing. One thought I had was that the stock dictionary probably has those words marked with a simple boolean flag, so how to access the dictionary and reset that flag, the problem would be solved.
As stated in thread title: Is there a way to disable the swipe between tabs gesture for Chrome on Android?
The gesture interferes with my ability to use certain websites that I now rely on that currently do not have an app for Android. I've tried searching for an answer to this and I've just been flooded sifting through irrelevant results for Mac, custom ROMs, etc. So far, the only solution to this has been to use another browser, but I enjoy the seamlessness of Chrome's remote tabs feature. I would like to know if there is an advanced settings section similar to "chrome://flags" for the desktop or a workaround that involves root.
I wanted to disable the googlenow / google search swipe up launch from the bottom bar.
The reason - to use swipepad for another gesture.
I have seen apps in the market that disable the launch of the google app, but the ring still shows up and cannot be used for another app.
Recently I started using gesture typing and I prefer it over swype and any third party keyboard I've tried.
Problem is, that I can only get it to work in languages that aren't my native tongue (which is dutch).
But I wouldn't mind using the English dictionary if only I didn't have to add every non-English word I use to the dictionary manually.
So my question is: Any way to make android automatically add every word I type to the dictionary? So that it can be used in gesture typing from then on?
I got an Android phone today (Samsung Transform Ultra) and I would like to use Google Voice for texting. I only have 100 MBs of data, however, so I would like to make sure that no other applications are using any data. How do I disable all data except for the data going to my Google Voice app?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I send a text to a contact, I type the name in the search and choose the contact. For some contacts that works great. For some, when I select them it sends an email and not a text. I have verified for those contacts that the phone number is set as default - is there something else i can do other than create 1 contact for phone and another for email?

I'm looking to upgrade my phone. Aside from normal phone use my main goal is to get a phone that will send a text message to a very large group of people all at once. My current phone Samsung Epic 4g Touch will do this but i have to create the message and then from the address box go to the group and one by one touch in each member (almost 200 in the group). I have my groups already but i would like to just add the whole group all at once. I don't care about the responses being in the same thread or anything else, I just want to add the group all at once to the address box.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any sort of IM client out there that you can text to mobile phones with. Much like you can with facebook chat? I was sitting here chatting with a friend over facebook and wanted to get a hold of another friend, but not on my phone and he was not on facebook. I just wanted to text him from my computer....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to ask what types of solutions are most successful for calling and texting using a 3G/wifi connection.
I'm going to Canada tomorrow and Verizon said that 3G is included in my plan but regular texting/calling is extra when out of the country.
I want to be able to make/receive calls from my friends in Canada with me AND be able to communicate with friends still in the states without any of us incurring further charges.
My assumption is that I will need to utilize apps that work with Google Voice. I don't believe the native GV app handles texts or calls itself though.
I've seen GrooVe IP mentioned for VOIP style calling with Google Voice (gchat?).
I've seen Kakaotalk mentioned for texting, I want non-smartphone users to be able to text me too..
I'm finding one particular feature of texting on my S3 mini difficult...It occurs mostly when using non-predictive, which would be fine since I primarily use predictive. But also is an issue when using the ",.?" key (numeric 1) in predictive too.
If I need to use two letters in a row which are on the same numeric key, there's a really long pause before the phone accepts the letter and allows you to re-use the same key for the next letter. Is there any way to speed this up or skip the pause in some way? On old-school phones you could just press > (or whatever key is used to move forward a space - not space bar tho) to skip the process. But nothing works on the S3 mini.
Any way round this or is it just a thing I have to put up with? For e.g. it's particularly annoying when I want to use two question marks in a row "??"....
After owning every model of the iPhone, I bought an HTC One several weeks ago. There are *so* many things I love about this phone and I don't see going back to an iPhone until such time as Apply starts innovating again.
Anyway, there is one thing that I am having issues with. Maybe it's an HTC thing. Maybe it's a Gmail thing. Maybe it's an Android thing. I was able to email and text good quality videos from my iPhone. When I emailed them, the videos were HD quality; just as they were taken. When I texted them, the phone compressed them before sending but the quality was still excellent after compression. On my HTC One, I always get an error message saying the file size is too big when I attempt to attach a video file. The only way to text videos is to change video quality to MMS (176 x 144) which, as you can imagine, looks like shiznit.
I just recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate and I updated to ICS this morning. The update worked fine with the exception of my text messaging.Every text I try to send fails. If I go into the details of the text message it says
Error Code:-1
I have already done a factory reset. What's going on?
When I start a new thread for sending a text, I look up the person in my contact list. The problem is that for some people I have multiple points of contact. (ie cell phone, home phone, fax, email address) Let's say that I want to text a person named Jason. If I have 6 people in my contact list named Jason, by the time I type in the 5 letters in Jason (I haven't limited it by their last name yet) I could still have 24 contacts, if every one of those Jason's had a cell, home, fax, and email in my contact list.
Is it possible to have my phone or the settings on my contact list or settings in my texting/messaging application set so that only mobile phones show up in the contact list when Im IN the texting application?
Even if there is a unique name I don't like having to select that person's cell number contact - as opposed to their email, fax, or home contact when I just want to send a quick text.
For 2 years I've said a few words, waited for the droid to process them, said a few more words, waited, etc. About a month ago something happened such that if I pause in my speech, what I say next deletes everything I've said before and starts over.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. To say this is braindead is an understatement.
I can adjust to just say what I want to text, but heaven forbid I pause a second or so to gather my thoughts.
Every time I upload a pic, text, or email from my Droid Razr the pic is stretched horizontally. The pics look fine on my phone, but when I look at them on any other device it's as if the vertical dimensions are reduced by about 25% (or horizontally increased)
I've changed all the normal settings for the default camera and played with them all, nothing works. Only thing I can do is upload pics to my desktop and use an image editor to increase the vertical size about 25%, which is very tedious and frustrating.
So 60% of the time I try to text I start texting and nothing shows up in the message box. the letters don't show. I have to back out of he messaging and use the task manager to end the application.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a group that I text to, a sports team, but two of my contacts in the group don't get my messages. They bounce back to me because they are sending to their land phones! Obviously there are multiple phone numbers for these contacts, and the first time this happened I went into the contacts to set the mobile number as default - but that makes no difference. Google Android still tries to send them to the landlines! My phone uses ICS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted T-Mobile Galaxy Note II running its stock 4.1.2 ROM (Eww, TouchWiz. I know). Whenever I text my mom through the stock messaging app, it looks like it went through on my end, but she does not receive the message. She's on an AT&T Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2 and also uses the default messaging app. I even get a delivery report on my end when I have the option enabled.
Here's where it gets interesting: she can send and receive texts fine to all her other contacts, and I can with mine as well. My girlfriend is on the same carrier and plan as me and has no issues texting my mom and I have no issues texting my dad who is on the same carrier and plan as my mom. There's something uniquely wrong with the way our two devices interact.
We have both rebooted our devices, cleared the app as well as system cache on both devices and deleted and re-added each other as contacts, all to no avail.
is there a way to mass text to people without people knowing its a mass text (aka see that isent to multiple contacts, etc)?
im on a galaxy s3 but i have heard that iphones can see multiple contacts if they receive a mass text and can even reply all. ouch!??
also, how do i make it so the mass text sends to each person individually in its own separate thread? ive sent to a few people at oncei n the past and all it did was create a single thread on my phone with all the contacts on it.
I would like to know what is meant by gestures in typical mobiles more specifically android ones. Android supports gesture recognition.
Is a gesture termed as when user holds the device and shakes it(say upwards, downwards or side- side)?
Is a gesture termed as when a finger is placed on the screen and traced UP,DOWN,RIGHT,LEFT? If so what is the difference between touch screen and gestures.
I am confused between 1) and 2) option.
What is a gesture exactly?
I just moved over from the iphone, one of the things I miss is imessenger. Mainly because I get almost no signal and it can send out most texts through my wifi connection. I want to be able to use my number and I don't want to have to have all my friend install a special app. But I don't mind paying a few dollars for the app or a even a small monthly fee.
