I have a HTC Incredible S it's rooted and S-off. no problem there.but when I try to mount my sd card it starts re-booting until it don't have anymore power.when I re charges my phone it does the same thing. I have tried to format my SD card and it worked for a while (a month or so) and then it began again today when it ran out of power. and the battery gets really hot when charging or re-booting nonstop.

I've just started having a problem with my big x10i, if I put the 8gb card that came with the phone in, I get a message in the status bar saying 'checking for errors'. At this point the phone goes really slow and if the phone locks I'm unable to unlock it and I have to take the battery out. I tried putting a different card (2gb) and it just keeps saying in the status bar 'SD card removed. Insert a new one' the whole phone is annoying me now as this is not the first problem I've had with it.Hope someone can help before I insert hammer in it.

i've been having some trouble lately with taking pictures on my front facing camera. I'm using the t-mobile variant of the samsung galaxy s3 (its actually from wind, but theyre the same). The last rom i had installed was cyanogenmod, and it was working fairly well, except every once in a while, when i took a picture or video from the front facing camera, the phone would crash immediately and reboot. I tested this with many different camera applications and they all had the same result. I decided that i would try a different rom to see if that was the issue, so i installed the latest version of Carbon. The problem persisted, and it even got worse. Now every time i take a photo using the front facing camera, the phone will crash and reboot instantly. I read around, and there appears to be some issues with snapchat and such, but i dont think that is my problem as this is occuring with every camera application i have. I have also checked out some other threads related to this issue, and some seem to have the same problem, with no real solution. Apparently a temporary fix seems to be clearing the application data, but even that doesn't work for me. If i could guess, i would say it has something to do with custom roms in general as i have seen no reports of a stock rom phone having this issue, or perhaps a gapps issue, but those are just some thoughts.

Later I found out myfaves is sending these costly messages, I wanted to turn off myfaves and I followed the following steps: 1. I downgraded my phone from RC33 to RC29 and rooted the phone 2. As I read that all RC3X versions have myfaves, installed JFv1.43_Holiday.zip using the standard procedure (update.zip on SD card, Home+Power, ALT+L, ALT+S, etc) 3. Now I see that myfaves is turned off (no new messages sent), but when I try to import contacts from Vodafone SIM card, the phone crashes with message " The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again"
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy work has hidden their SSID, thus the need for me to use the "Add Network" button at the bottom of the WiFi Settings menu; however, upon click the "Add Network" button, it just crashes and takes me back to the Settings screen. I click back on WiFi, it scans for the broadcasting SSIDs, and I click the "Add Network" button at the bottom again, and crash back to Settings Menu.
I just got this phone from my work for my work. They don't know anything about Android products, and my Google-Fu hasn't been strong enough.
I'm trying to understand remote services at the moment and everything works fine, i can start the service and know how to communicate with it through the AIDL-interface. My problem is that the service seems to still run in the same process like the activity it was started from, because the activity crashes too, if there is an error thrown in the Service.
I set the service process to remote ( android:process=":remote" ) so what am i doing wrong? Or what do i have to do to unbind the service-process completely from the activity-process?
First it was every now and then, now it's every time I fire up the GPS and go into Maps or Navigate. Phone crashes screen goes black, it reboots itself.
View 9 Replies View RelatedLet me start off by saying I've been searching Google at home/work/while sleeping trying to find answers to my problem and haven't come up with anything that worked for me. In short I am running Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense and the camcorder is not working. Everything else, GPS, Flash, wireless tether, camera work perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are the steps I took since I first took the plunge into root.
Wiped cache did factory reset
Rooted phone with unrevoked
Installed Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense to verify I liked the build.
Used Unrevoked forever to siwtch S - OFF
verified S - OFF
Flashed radio to 2.15.00.07.28
Verified that SDcard is/was formatted with FAT32
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
Wiped phone
reverted back to 1.00 radio
re-installed skyraider

Over the past week I've noticed 3 instances where my HTC Hero just spontaneously switches off.. Screen black, buttons not lighted up. First time, I was editing the Calendar, second time I was viewing my photo album. Most recently, I had the phone in my pocket with music player playing and the phone just stopped working. Battery level wasnt low and I had to remove the battery and reinsert it to get the phone going again for each of those times. The phone might have crashed but idk, this never happened before the past few days (Ive been using it for 2.5 months now)

I have tried all the resolutions for record but they all crash the phone.I did read that sometimes formatting the SD card helps, but I have don't that and used a different SD card and the problem is still there.Any help greatly received.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I reboot my PC with the phone connected the PC drivers are apparently getting connected. I get the new hardware found window (the phone), and when I click next it can't find the drivers, not even if I point it to the EasyTether directory (Android Driver and Network Driver folders). I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers (easytether_86 - from the link the phone has in Apps), and then plug/unplug the phone a couple times. If I unplug the phone before rebooting there is no problem.
It will be extremely difficult to remember to unplug the USB cable from the phone every time I reboot or turn off the computer. This is not acceptable. It is a royal pain to fix.
I paid the $10 to register EasyTether to get https access.
LG Ally phone (Android) (Brand new). PC - Windows XP SP3 w/all current updates.
This has almost become a gag, if I hit the lock button or allow the screen to timeout while inside of a text message, when I awaken the screen for whatever reason and I do not immediately hit the home button the messaging app freezes and then force closes. This happens if I try to respond or go back to the msg list. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

HTC desire V. Whenever I try to open whatsapp from notification drop down the chat window of watsapp appears and the aplication closes. I have been facing this problem last four months.
I have also tried communicating with whatsapp support team but only solution offered to me was update to latest version. I have followed the instructions and upadated to latest version but the problem still exists
I have also consulted htc care center for the problem but no solution offered and the only solution was flash the handset. Currently I have uninstalled whatsapp for last two days n theres no problem with my mobile.
I've had this happen on both my old 2003 Mustang with an after market head unit and my new 2011 Nissan Altima. The Nissan has a factory aux plug so I don't think it's an incompatibility between hardware? Basically what happens is, I plug my phone in and start playing music, but the song doesn't take on the properties of the equalizer app. If I go into equalizer and change a frequency, it says "Equalizer has stopped." and then it restarts and THEN my equalizer settings apply to whatever currently plays.
If I go into Google Play and change the song or let the song finish and shuffle to the next play, the equalizer effects stop. My phone is a GSM Galaxy Nexus. I'm running AOKP with Franco kernel and all of the sound mods are disabled.
I will try to be specific if I can - please be patient, first time asker and relatively new to programming on this platform. Apologies if this has been asked/answered before - please link it to me. I have searched up and down but find other unrelated (to me at least) problems.
The real puzzler for me is that my app is crashing on my emulator but when installed on my phone (via upload of apk to phone and then using an AppInstaller app from market) it works.
The crash comes from a NullPointerException at the numbered line in the following code snippet (my code) of a custom list cursor adapter.

Curiously I have been happily programming and debugging away all day and out of the blue a long working and bug free portion of my app now throws up this error.
I suspect it might be a problem with the databases, but really not sure - nothing seems out of place there. Up until today I had a database with only one table - today I added a new table which also has a "_id" field as the name autoincrement key field, which I read in the docs was required for android list adapters (if memory serves). Having some experience in coding and some minor experience with databases, that seems like a bad idea to me but I am uncertain of if that is the problem and/or how else to do it.
The crash I am listing here does not display or make reference to the data in the other, new table. The cursor does not contain any query data from it. In fact if I rename the key field "_id" of the new table to something else (ie "_blah"), the crash remains.
Like I said, if I upload the apk to my phone, it works.
I have tried the following on the emulator:
- restarting adb (and eclipse) - no result
- uninstall from emulator - no result
- destory AVD profile and recreate - no result
I am developing this under the Android 2.1 SDK, and have been for the last few weeks. I have only ever had that SDK installed, I am yet to update to 2.2.
Not sure what else I can say here - hoping somebody here has experience enough to shed some light on it.
Without a fix to this, I can anticipate a very slow development process here on out (assuming I have to upload to my phone to test new code changes...).
I have a problem with Viber 4.2 on Android 4.4.2 Samsung / Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.
Viber 4.2 crashes while trying making the call (crash happens when other party answers) or while receiving the call (in the moment of answer). Also, Viber crashes while changing some options in Settings. For example, changing Settings->Privacy->Collect analytics crashes Viber. Uninstall/Reinstall/reboot device does not work. Downgrade to Viber 4.1 (still available on Viber web site) solved the problem but Viber 4.2 has new interesting options (block list, ring tone selection), so, I would like to use Viber 4.2 (but without these critical bugs).
Same problem was listed on other board (Moto G phone / Android 4.4.2).
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (model GT-I8190, Android Version 4.1.1) and as of about 3 weeks ago it will crash intermittently when I am using it. I have had the phone for just over a year.The battery will be well charged prior to it crashing. I will be using the phone and then it crashes. The phone will switch off and then will turn on again (by itself) and when the home screen appears the battery will show that its on 0%. This of course then causes the phone to turn off and then turn on again and so on....the only way of stopping this cycle is by taking the battery out (to stop the cycle) or by plugging in the adaptor. Indeed if the phone is plugged in then it never malfunctions and the phone works ok.
Also the battery charge has started to drop quite significantly - It sits on my desk at work and yet i cannot get through the day without re-charging it. When i was in the O2 shop the other day it dropped 12% in 5 mins.It usually crashes when I am using apps that in the past have worked fine but today it crashed when it was updating an app.I have deleted apps that I have added recently in case it is anything to do with them.I have backed up everything and have restored factory settings.I have not dropped it or got water on it etc.
The problem still exists.I took it to o2 who want to send it off. Is it simply a battery issue? It could be a battery issue but I dont want to spend money on a new battery for the problem to persist.
Last few days i'm having a weird problem with play store. Everytime i'm using wifi and try to open play store it crashes and closes! BUT, when i disable wifi and try to open it with 3G it opens normally!
I though it was the rom i was using with my Galaxy Tab 8.9, then i installed stock rom back and tried, same problem.
Until now, i though it was a problem with my tab, but i JUST BOUGHT a new phone, a Motorola Razr i, turned it on and tried to open play store over wifi, same problem, but over 3G it opens normally!
Ok, so I wonder how to troubleshoot Android phone crashes, freezes, reboots, etc.
Maybe there are ways to troubleshoot these kind of events by looking at loggings to pinpoint the problem (like does a particular app cause this, or a hardware event, etc).
I see my HTC notices it recovered from an abnormal reset for instance, and asks to send logging to HTC HQ, so there seems to be ways that could tell more what is causing trouble?
my motorola atrix with/ ginger bread crashes all the time I want to access to it. This happens since I install an app call "freedom", so I diceded to do a hard reset but it did not wor. Then I did a factory reset But it remains the same. I change the time and I finally could enter my gmail account, but the google play still crashes.
I did a hard reset again, but now The "market" app does not appear when setting up the phone. I downloaded it externally, but it reamins crashing.

I am using a Samsung Tab 2 10.1 P5113 and I updated my Google Play Music app to the update released on May 15th (the one with the "All Access" feature and ever since then it keeps crashing. It is completely unusable. I have tried everything I could think of. I was on CM 10.1 nightlies, then i went back completely to stock, I've unrooted, wiped, uninstalled, re installed, and every other idea I could think of. (Note that I have root and am running on stock Touchwiz so I can post a logcat if you need me to, also all of the other Play Music versions worked just fine for me.

Ive cleaned data/cache, removed and reinstalled, rebooted, tried this half a dozen times and no luck. Ive tried numerous keyboards and settings- all that i could think of.

Switched from NeatROM by flashing to Slim Saber. Restored all my data using MyBackup Pro. Mostly everything works except for Viber
A fresh installation of Viber works. But the moment I restore my data, it will not start up anymore. I've checked CatLog and the main error seems to be permission based:

I have a Motorola RAZR V XT885 running stock Android 4.0.4 on Virgin Mobile.
A couple days ago I tried to set a mobile data limit at 6gb using the stock app. For some reason it thought I wanted a limit set at 500gb. Since then I have not been able to reopen the app to reset it or turn off the limit, settings crashes and sends me back to my home screen. I have rebooted my phone multiple times and cleared the cache, but I'm unsure where to go from here.
I current have the latest YouTube app on my tablet and phone (Nexus 10 and 4) and for some strange reason, after the recent upgrade to 4.4.11 of the app, YouTube would crash everytime I try to watch any video. Attempts to clean cache/data and revert to older version of the app were unsuccessful too although it would not crash.
I must also mention that my YouTube account was banned some time ago due to some lame reason with a few foreign variety show video clips I posted being reported. Long story short, I was able to still watch YouTube clips previously with the app, without being successfully signed in. Both of my devices are on stock 4.2.2 with custom kernel and rooted of course.
