Jun 2, 2014I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to root my device, the Go Clever Terra 72, and still had no luck. Is there a way to root these type of generic tablets?

View 1 RepliesI tried possibly ever option on le google (and some here) but to no avail. Installed every program suggested on the net (unlockRoot, onclickroot, etc etc) as well as the necessary programs (SDK, ADB drivers etc) but it just seems it is impossible. So I turn my plead towards you, after two full days of struggling with this stupid thing.

I have a Double Power EM63 tablet from Walmart. I believe it is identical to the Ematic EM63 and the MID-AM789 (Google "AM789" for specs since I apparently can't post links yet). I rooted it using Shaume (It's not in english, I just clicked the button that said "root"). I was trying to improve the tablets gaming performance, so I installed the Chainfire 3D driver, and now my tablet won't boot. It gets stuck on the "DOPO" logo, never gets to the boot animation. I can enter recovery mode, so I tried the "wipe/reset" option, but it didn't work. I think I need the stock ROM or a compatible custom ROM to flash to the tablet so it can run again, but I can't find any ROMs that would work and don't really know how to flash it.

My problem is as follows: I'm having trouble rooting one of my customer's Android tablets (DIT 1010) version 4.0.3 and kernel version 3.0.8. (As far as I can tell there's no custom skin)
From what I've gathered Android knows 3 modes and ADB mode is the one that has to be active for me to be able to root it. However Windows stops recognizing the tablet once I've enabled USB debugging.
I've tried installing google android drivers, didn't work. I kept digging and found out I had to manually add my tablet's device ID to the .inf file. I tried this but still no dice. To be more specific these are the lines I've added (Without the Google.NTx86 and Google.NTamd64 lines, they're just for clarity):
[Google.NTx86]
; Android ADB Interface
%SingleAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&REV_0222
[Google.NTamd64]
; Android ADB Interface
%SingleAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&REV_0222
I can't really find anything about this tablet and apparently the ADB drivers are device specific.
my tablet is damn slow after rooting and it crashed my tango ..

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought Micromax A52. Thought of rooting it and after looking on xda i figured that existing root methods didn't enable root privilege in Micromax A52. Thinking of trying the manual way to root ( Creating own methods to root).
I dont know/find where i can download A52 stock OS. What is the process of backing up stock. After stocking original os as we can easily restore to it, would like to proceed with the rooting steps. Wondering how a rooting softy (Superoneclick or z4root etc) works based on which i will be able to give a shot on it.
I've got new LG Optimus Sol E730.
1. I've used generic dialer tool and installed Dialer One. During dialing background wallpaper and status bar changes to some ugly color and picture. Green during call and red when call is finish. Is it possible to keep main theme during dialing?
2. How can I change locker screen to generic Android? I dislike LG locker screen and I don't want to use WidgetLocker - anyway after unlock I have to enter my PIN and it is done via LG locker screen...
3. What is the best way to convert SMS view to generic style? Is it possible without any additional applications?
After renaming some photos on my HTC Wildfire S, Android Version 2.3.3 , HTC Sense ver 2.1, when I successfully connect via Bluetooth and navigate to the DCIM folder, then double-click on the 100media folder to transfer some images, I get an error telling me:
"You can't view the contents of this folder due to a general error. Try again later"
As a test I pulled those images off using USB and the error went away, but when I put them back and tried Bluetooth the error returned.
I then created a new folder at root level and placed them in that but now the general error appears immediately upon Bluetooth connection effectively locked me out, unless I use USB or delete that new album and it's contents.
I rebooted both phone/computer (Mac) but only removing the renamed photos fixes things. Surely I am able to rename a photo without causing some sort of permissions complication?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000B from Brazil unlocked from the store. Three days ago I decided to update my system (2.2) to the CM10.0.0 (4.1.2). After much sweat and hassle I discovered how do it properly with the right files. So, I flashed 2.3.3 and then CM10 and it seemed to work properly until I found out my IMEI had been corrupted. I tried the solution I found but it didn't work because on step #5 I don't find the file named ".nv_data", just "nv_data.bin.md5". I tried copying just the other but in the end it doesn't change my IMEI back. I still have a generic IMEI but it is not affecting the signal of my phone, I can still make and receive calls, but I would like to get it properly working. When I flash android 2.2 it restores my IMEI.
Problem 2
My other problem is that I keep getting these really loud and intermittent scratch noises during calls after flashing CM10. Right now I am using a dutch SIM for I live in the netherlands. Maybe that is important to mention. But I had been using android 2.2 here all along with no problems. After CM10 I get these sudden short bursts of noise during my calls. The other person can barely hear it but I hear it loudly.
Is there a generic database application out there? I haven't found any in the market or mentioned in these forums.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a HTC Hero (Android 1.5) running on the Meteor network in the Republic of Ireland. From what I can tell the phone is not rooted (Titanium says so anyway).
The build number on the phone is: 2.73.405.66

Generic android.widget.Adapter iface has getCount() method which tells e.g. ListView how many items adapter has. what if my Adapter's data source cannot tell me it's size and has only method Object getItem(int position) returning e.g. null when there is no item for that position? in other words i can get some object at given position but don't know maximum value for position so, is it possible to create Adapter not knowing apriori its size?

I have a bunch of mini USB charges (car ect) you can buy and adapter from Mini to Micro for a few bucks. I have not owned an HTC phone before, do they accept generic chargers? Do you think I will have any problem using an adapter to charge the phone. Just trying to get out of buy a lot of $30 chargers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to get/set a generic device name ? My app will offer the user an option to use the same app on several devices and they will be aware of each other through server. 1) Is there anything in the APIs to allow me to fetch some kind of friendly device name (cannot be OS/model since user might have the same on both devices) ? 2) AFAICT the only option is to use Bluetooth name but how can I fetch my device name in code?(and it's a nag do explain the user to use bluetooth just to set the name of the device)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI love my new Desire! It has prompted six people in my office to purchase it, but what I have found to be annoying is that I have lost the generic HTC browser. This happened when I installed Dolphin.
I now have Opera 5 Mini Beta and that Orange Browser labelled "Internet" but not the stock one. I want it back as its great at rendering pages etc..
I bought a generic car charger for my Droid. My thought was something along the lines of "a micro USB charger is a micro USB charger" and clearly I was wrong.
I noticed that after an hour on the charger while i was using GPS, 3G and Bluetooth, that the charge on my phone had actually dropped by about 10%. At best, the generic charger only slowed the drain from the battery. I replaced it with a Rocketfish charger from Best Buy and, while charging was painfully slow, it did charge.
Maybe it was the brand of charger and maybe my charger was faulty but I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who is going to grab one.
I forget my original charger at home so i got a new one from at&t (didn't find t-mobile), generic one, with the same connector and the guy from the store said it will work fine with captivate (that should be the same as the Vibrant). when i tried to use it, it charged my phone but the whole interface was laggy and didn't get half of my touch pressing (the other half did something else like pressing the wrong spot).
anyway i thought its a bad charger so i get a new one from RadioShack... that do the SAME problem.
then i tried some electric shop that told me theres a difference between this chargers and i need to get the Palm Pre charger and not Motorola/BlackBerry, but still both of them did the same problem (again, all of this stores got only third-party "generic" chargers and not originals). anyway i got home and charged with the original usb wall adapter and usb cable that came in the box.
