General :: Rooting Zoostorm Tablet With Rockchip RK3188 Quad Core Processor

How to root tablets with this processor.
I just want to know a couple of things (NOT that I would ever try this myself but im interested in the info).
1) Is it possible to install quad core firmware on dual core tablet?
2) Is it possible to 'spoof' the android system into thinking 2 CPUs are 4?
3)If you install dual core firmware on quad core machine will 4 cores or 2 show up?
Does android 4.1 jelly bean support quad core to its full potential or are we dealing with the same thing when phones came out with dual cores but android 2.3 gingerbread didnt support it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a note 3 mediatek device (mtk6582) and when i play games or just using it for more than 30-40 min. It gets really hot, i mean really hott..{90c}....(especially when i'm playing games). And I think it may be beacause of GPU (mali 400) but I cant find a way to undervolt it... I think I must have custom kernel to do that...so any other method to undervolt the gpu.
But I also think that it could be the battery that is not the best quality...and if the battery is not that good can this heat up the cpu. (or generally the motherboard).
Bought the Ainol AX1 Quadcore Dual Sim from Aliexpress. Everything is fine on it except that it reboots every now and then. It usually happens after charging. The reboot that happens is shorter than the normal manual reboot. I'm thinking that an upgrade may work but I do not know where or how to upgrade this device. I have an Huawei G300 Android phone that informs me automatically if an upgrade is available. For this tablet, an upgrade can only be done by downloading an upgrade file and loading it manually?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a noname chinese made Rockchip 2918 based tablet PC that I am trying to root so I can use some tools to increase performance/etc.
I have ADB and the Android SDK installed.
I have the most recent Rockchip drivers installed.
I have Development Mode turned on on the tablet.
When I plug the device into USB, nothing happens other then the windows notification sound to let me know something was plugged in. No "searching for drivers" nothing. When I go to ADB and do a "ADB Shell" command, it says device not found.
If I boot the tablet into Recovery mode, connect USB, and repeat the above procedure, I get the same result.
Is there a seperate USB Recovery mode I need to get into? I read about this on other RK2918 based tablets and I have tried all the methods to no avail. Volume up and Power is the only combination that does something, and that just takes me into normal recovery mode.
Just a side note, If I connect my HTC Evo 4G LTE and try the shell command, it finds it instantly.
I have a sanei N83 fashion (if i'm right)
With android 4.0.4, 51 ram, cpu 1ghz A13, ...
I have the Windows 8 interface and i don't like it, the tablette seems too realy slow (when i want to enter my credential for facebook, in candy crush, the tavlette always crash, ...)
so i want a custom firmware lighter, faster and without the Windows 8 interface.
I is it possible to instal Windows mobile on an Android Tablet with ARM procesoor ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a tutorial on how to root my device, the Go Clever Terra 72, and still had no luck. Is there a way to root these type of generic tablets?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is as follows: I'm having trouble rooting one of my customer's Android tablets (DIT 1010) version 4.0.3 and kernel version 3.0.8. (As far as I can tell there's no custom skin)
From what I've gathered Android knows 3 modes and ADB mode is the one that has to be active for me to be able to root it. However Windows stops recognizing the tablet once I've enabled USB debugging.
I've tried installing google android drivers, didn't work. I kept digging and found out I had to manually add my tablet's device ID to the .inf file. I tried this but still no dice. To be more specific these are the lines I've added (Without the Google.NTx86 and Google.NTamd64 lines, they're just for clarity):
[Google.NTx86]
; Android ADB Interface
%SingleAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&REV_0222
[Google.NTamd64]
; Android ADB Interface
%SingleAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface%= USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&REV_0222
I can't really find anything about this tablet and apparently the ADB drivers are device specific.
my tablet is damn slow after rooting and it crashed my tango ..

do you use rockchip based Android device with linux?
I've just bought Rockchip rk3066 based AllFine Fine10 tablet, and have trouble setting it up to work with adb on my Linux installation.
I presume problem is with udev rules, I use some giant package of udev rules but it does not contain rule for my tablet.
I have tried to manually define udev rule by inputing device ID listed by lsusb utility.
Quote:
lsub: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 2207:0010
Thus creating:
Quote:
# AllFine
ATTR{idVendor}=="2207", ATTR{idProduct}=="0010", SYMLINK+="android_adb"
But still device is not recognized by adb.
I want to connect my CS-918 Android TV Box to my Pc.I have Win 7 64Bit. I download the Rockusb_v3.5 drivers, in the device i set the USB Debug mode, When i connect the USB cable, In the Windows Device Maneger it recognize as CS918. I tried another cable and the same....Then i click 'Update Driver' select the path of the 'Rockusb' but it does not installing it.
View 3 Replies View Related Rockchip 3066 TV Box I am working with. The situation is thus:
I have a number of these boxes, 12 in my possession currently with more on the way
I have successfully rooted the boxes through ADB, none of the one click or other methods worked, but rooting through ADB did.
I have tried using rkdump but unfortunately it cannot find the update.img which I assume to mean it doesn't have one.
What I would like to do is setup a box exactly how I want and then image this off and copy the image to the others
As I mentioned, even though it's a Rockhip based chipset, there's no way I can identify to extract any kind of update.img from it. I have seen through other postings that some of the 3066 based boards no longer use the same cramfs file header/structure the previous 2xxx chipset used so this is probably why.
The big thing is, I just want to mirror the setup to other hardware of exactly the same pedigree. Here is the MTD/partition map:
Code:
1|root@android:/dev # cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00400000 00004000 "misc"[code]....
what the precise format of the copy to and from commands should be assuming this is the way to go about it?
There's a number of applications that ship on the box by default too I need to remove as root, and I'd like to automate everything, hence the idea of imaging as opposed to stepping through all the tasks manually.
I've heard that theae 2 processers are very similar but obviously there must be a few differences. Does anyone know where I can find a comparison between the 2 or can someone compare them for me here?I'm just curious really. Both are really good I hear.
View 16 Replies View RelatedGot a U9510, D Quad (unlocked and unbranded outright) (didn't see my phone listed so posting in this section)
Worked great, rooted easily. Installed Chainfire 3D, was all fine. Uninstall as decided I dont need it.
Then stupidly decided to try reinstall and try Beta EGL driver after browsing and finding some EGL level support.
Now the screen is blank, no lights, no boot logo, nothing, and I want to cry. (Though I have not been able to pull the battery)
Plug in via USB still shows up as Android device etc.
I dont know how to pull the battery on this phone, it's not easily accessible, I took the screws out of the back plate and tried to lift up the plate but couldn't see how to do it, so just put the screws back in.
Also it's new, so no SD card yet, internal only.
USB Setting is default to storage device, but internal doesn't show up on that setting, it does on MTP.
What steps to recovery?
Most similar issue I've found is this, but only seems like the same symptoms, not same cause: [URL]....
No mention of EGL, and I had no problems with Chainfire until I tried EGL.
Anyway to uninstall the driver over USB? And how to get the backplate off without damage to pull the battery?
I don't have anything critical on the phone storage I can't replace easily, have flashed roms before etc, but prefer to recover/undo if possible. And again with the storage issue, how would I gain access to the internal storage without the screen on?
edit: The removable disk drive shows up for the SD card (but obviously inaccessible since no microSD in phone), but I'm poor till wednesday night, so cant go out and get a microSD to attempt a fix yet.
HiSuite can't connect to the phone (HiSuite USB mode needs to be turned on OR USB debugging, debugging is) so I presume the phone is not in a fully powered on state running the OS (unable to start graphics driver etc).
edit2: The manual states if I want to change the battery to contact an authorised service provider (!), but can hold the power button for more than 10 seconds to force a restart (but I wonder if that will work in its current state?)
I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

I've bricked my Onda Vi40 while updating it to 4.1 with clockworkmod recovery. I used the files that I've found from a forum post, but after flashing a file, an error occured (I can't remember the error message) and now, my tablet is stuck in clockworkmod. Also, I can't mount external sdcard, error messages appears as follows:
error mounting /sdcard!
error mounting /sd-external!
At my computer's device manager, the device can be seen as "GT-I9100" device, seems like a Samsung Device. I've found and tried to install the device drivers, but it's unsuccessful too.
As a result, my tablet stuck at clockworkmod recovery, it can't mount any sdcard, i have no access to internal memory.
