I accidentally deleted a bunch of photos and a video from my Samsung Galaxy Express SGH-I437. I have been trying to recover the deleted files with no luck so far. I have been able to root the phone with motochopper and have put the phone in debugging mode. I just can't seem to get into it though. how I might be able to get my files restored.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Express (sgh-i437) with cyenogenmod 10.2.
I am also using a mac (mountain lion)
How do i remove cyenogenmod using the mac to install the stock firmware?
I have heimdall install and i have downloaded the firmware i need (I437UCALI6_I437ATTALI6_ATT.zip)
I have also set my phone on download mode
When i open heimdall , i just assumed i need to select the md5 file within the firmware zip file, when i do that after the extraction, heimdall says that the file is missing firmeware.xml.
I tried to apply Galaxy S3's unlock procedure to the Express i437. The first steps were fine unitl the last one. I couldn't find the option [4]NW Lock NV Data INITIALIZ. I looked at the S4 procedure, the idea is quite similar, the options differs in Express i437. What's the last step to complete the unlock?

View 9 Replies View Related I have a Samsung Galaxy Express, which is basically a gimped SIII and ran into some weird slowdown issues. I first noticed with Fast & Furious 6. When I first installed it, it ran smooth. After a few weeks, the game became so choppy it was close to unplayable. I just thought it was a fluke, maybe one of the updates didn't like my phone.
So, after this and other random issues, I did a factory reset. After that I downloaded Injustice, very happy it was finally added for android. Same thing, at first it ran great but after a week or two it started to become choppy. I have cleared all my caches, cleared my ram right before playing by using an app All-in-One Toolbox and I have 2.3 Gigs free space out of 5 Gigs.
The phone runs on Jelly Bean(I think, whatever is 4.1.2) and the model number is SGH-I437. I know there are at least two different Samsung Galaxy Express model numbers so that is why I added that info.
I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy Express to my W7 PC with a usb cable. I was able to do it last week. I have changed nothing. Suddenly, it won't connect. But it does charge when connected to the PC. It also does not work in my W7 laptop, though it charges in that also. Further, my wife has an identical model phone, and it works in both computers. And just for fun, I tried two different usb cables, not that I even expected that to make a difference.
I have been through the abysmal tech support attempt - which basically told me to do everything I already tried from a google search. Settings changes, all that junk.
I couldn't find a root option for this phone anywhere on the internet...

I installed CyanogenMod 11.0 for Samsung Express ATT (SGH-I437) last week without any issue and the ROM has been performing without any issues...until yesterday. I don't know what happened, but now 'auto sync' has been disabled for all my email accounts (Exchange and Gmail) and I have to manually sync my email. I know this is a first-world problem, but because the ROM seems relatively stripped-down, I can't find a means to turn-on auto sync again.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy SII 4G, love this phone. However I have some issues when it comes to flash and streaming video stuff. I can seem to watch youtube videos just fine but trying to go to other sites that have flash or streaming videos, it just doesn't play at all. Also some sites with flash will only show up with a green arrow in the area where there's supposed to be a video. I have downloaded Adobe flash and Flash AIR. Have tried multiple browsers with all having the same problems. I am also having this problem on my Viewsonic G-Tablet.

Now to my issue: I like to watch video streams. The problem is, that the display will turn automatically off.
Solutions:
1. Play a stream with a video player - how can I do this?
2. Change settings so the display will not switch off on a stream, but will turn off when idle - is this even possible?
3. Turn off "turn off display when idle" setting - but I don't like this one.
I've just done a factory reset, and now can't remember how I got my contact photos - something to do with syncing with facebook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, after having to live with GPS that's at best flaky and at worst non-existent for the last three months I've now found something else related Samsung has managed to screw up. All the photos my phone has taken are geotagged with 0 lat, 0 lon. So, somewhere off the west coast of Africa. Other handsets I've used have tagged with the inexact location (i.e. cell tower fix) when an accurate location isn't available.
I would expect either this or no tag at all. Maybe while I'm stripping off the tags this evening I'll put in an order for a Desire HD. Thanks Samsung, I'm just about annoyed enough now to no longer care what fixes or updates you may choose to grace us with at some unspecified point in the future. Ok, that rant may have been a bit over the top but I do feel a little better now!
I'm a Tech-Moron, can someone please tell me how to do this? I plug in the phone to the computer with a USB connection and the computer doesn't seem to know that the phone is there. That's where I've been stuck for a month now. Like I said, I'm a tech moron.

I have a Bell Mobility Galaxy S Vibrant I9000m. For some reason today, it won't successfully boot. I have not rooted, unlocked, etc. I can boot it into recovery mode volume/home/power, but before I try a hard reset, I'd like to get the photos and videos of my son's birthday off. I believe the default of those apps is to save to phone. I am able to connect to ADB, I think. Well, it connected to something.

I want an app that will resize the photo to a lower resolution (640 X 480) so that the file size is small enough to send it easily through email (over GPRS conn). Can someone recommend a app that can do this, preferably free? Right now, I transfer the pics to my PC & use Picasa to export the photos with a lower resolution.

Since I updated to Froyo when the official one was released for the UK my Gallery has been almost useless, it now sorts photos based on where they were taken which I don't want and it doesn't show any new photos/videos I take, possibly because the phone saves them to the external SD card now instead of the internal one. Is there anyway to fix this? I've looked everywhere for some gallery settings but I can't find anything, to change the sorting etc.. Or can anyone recommend a half decent gallery app? I just want something that shows the recent photos I've taken...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to pull in google plus photos when using photoshop touch and autostitch apps etc. But their import options only access local folders on my device. I can download individual photos one at a time to a generic download folder from google plus to use, not full albums. When I try to create a new folder in gallery, and move the Picasa/Google Plus photos I get a notice saying "unsupported file." I read somewhere that there should be an option in gallery that makes photos available offline, but I don't have that. Just basically trying to be able to organize and download my g+ photos for use with these apps, in a less time consuming way.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?
