Notifications between my N5 and N7 seems to don't sync across, if I dismiss a g+ notification on one device it will not automatically clear on the other

Does anyone know any way to have SMS sound, vibration, LED blink, and screen-on (if you have an app like SmsAwake awake installed like I do) to come on IN SYNC? Every time I get a text message, they are always not in sync, and it bothers me. For exampe, phone would vibrate, then 5 seconds later, notification sound goes off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to get gmail email notifications instantly when they arrive now I get them only with 1-2 hours delay. Basically I get the notification of a new email faster than the browser version on my pc refreshes (dunno how often it does it maybe once every 10-20 secs). This has been going on for 2 days now. I will get the notification eventually of a new email if I don't mark them as read but just before it was within seconds now it's within hours of the new email arriving. The problem is gmail gets into sync loop I'm assuming this is a gmail problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just heard on a podcast that this was announced last year and I didn't even realize it was supposed to work. I have a Nexus 5 and 7 and the google calendar notifications always need to be dismissed on each device, they never sync the dismissals.

I finally got my work email sync'd on my Android phone (Outlook). However, all my annoying meetings from work are now popping up as "notifications" in my phone's status bar. I can't stand corporate meetings, which are a colossal waster of time, and i don't want to be reminded of all the meetings on my work schedule. I was able to successfully turn of the Outlook mail notifications on my phone (and I still get Gmail notifications, since they are two separate email systems, which is exactly what I want). How do I turn my "Outlook calendar reminders," but still be reminded of my Google Calendar reminders, which is my personal, and far more important, calendar?

Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
I have had my Epic 4g for two days now and I am having the some notification and email problems. I don't get notifications when new email is available. I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. I currently have it set to to check email every 5 minutes but this is obviously not happening. and i dont get a blinking LED when i get a SMS, Text message.

1. I added a google account. Without asking it synced everything.
2. I turned off all sync except gmail.
3. But when I add a new contact it still warns me that it will sync it with my google account!
4. I tapped ok. Now by default the google account is on the top of the screen where I add contacts - obviously it syncs it.
Also, when I now go to settings > account > google account I can't seem to turn on/off settings. Eg if I touch an item that is turned on it starts to sync it instead of switching it on.
Obviously I could remove the google account altogether but I would prefer to keep it just for gmail sync. How to do this?
so i screwed up and got a windows 8 machine (sony tap20) anyhow its past end of life for google sync but i need to sync outlook calendar with my google calendar, prefer ota like it used to be

View 3 Replies View RelatedUpdate:I got a app called "GMail Label Notifier"...it serves the same purpose and is really much more flexible since you can assign unique alerts to each trigger You just need to setup filters in Gmail to apply a label. I have been using it a week or so now and it seems to work great.
I have moved from a BB Tour to the HTC Incredible and really like the Android OS.
A few things I really rely on though I can't seem to replicate on Android. The most important is the "Level 1" or high importance message tagging. With BIS I could setup a filter so that any emails with a specific word or words in the subject line or from a specific email address caused a different alert on the BB when received.
Also, I can't find many options for different notifications like a specific one for emails, another for SMS, another for voice mails, etc.
I've come from an Iphone 4S to a Galaxy S4. I'm really liking android and I don't know why I thought iPhone was better, android is just amazing. I don't really like the way notifications are handled. On IOS you get a banner which yes can be obtrusive but I could click on the notification and it would take me to the app. For example if I got a comment on a Facebook post and was notified then I could click on the banner and it would take me to that post on Facebook so I could see the comment.
While android notifications are way less obtrusive I don't seem to be able to click on them to open the app and instead I have to open the notification shade to click on them. I would like to be able to tap the status bar when it changes to a notification but I don't seem to be able to. I have gotten round this by downloading an app that adds IOS banner like notifications that work just fine and I can still swipe them to dismiss them. However I would like to be able to tap the status bar when it changes into a small like banner thing.
Is there any way to get notifications across the top of my phone or light notification when I get email, facebook, messenger, etc. when I am using wifi and have limited 3g connection? (such as when I am at work). The messages will come thru but I don't know they are there unless I actually go into the application to check them.
By the way I have a Driod Razr Maxx. I don't know what generation. I've had it for about 8 months.
I am not receiving any sort of notifications when I receive new e-mails. I am not using google mail, but my e-mail addresses are linked with the Samsung e-mail app. In order to see my new e-mails I must open to app and click on the refresh button. Whenever a new notification appears in my notification bar on stock gb rom its always accompanied by the same four browser notifications from months back saying download completed.
I downloaded some images off net for my blog using browser and even when I click clear to clear the notifications its only the same four download completed ones reappear.
Is there some way to manually remove them permanently assuming they are stored on device and for some reason not getting deleted properly?
Ive been using the GoSMS scheduled SMS - and sending texts to myself to act as a reminder with the pop-up notifications.
Works pretty well, but it is a bit of a hassle going through the process of setting up the scheduled text.
I recently discovered COL Reminder, which does do exactly as i want - but the UI isn't as stylish as i would like.
Any.DO is pretty good too, using the task list and having pop-up reminders when set.
Any other reminder apps which have pop-up notifications (rather than just the status bar icon notification)?
I noticed late last night that since my update I am no longer getting any notifications (Facebook, Gmail, Twitter etc etc) since updating to 4.3 on my Nexus 7.
I had a look with in the settings but cannot find anyway of turning them back on.
Ive tried Settings in the App.. Ive tried the Application manager, it is grayed out so you can uncheck the box for Notifications
My work email is on the Email app thats installed. I dont need notifications on top.. There is NO option to turn it off
For some reason, I do not receive a notification for an incoming MMS message in Hangouts. I receive notifications for SMS messages perfectly fine, but not MMS. When I open the app, I will see MMS messages download, but I never receive a notification.

Cleared cache, force-stopped, uninstalled and re-installed Search, all no no avail.
I received a notification with a web-link and as part of the notification there was a confirmation number.
So I clicked the link right from the notification and Dolphin opened to the site. When I needed to enter the confirmation number, and my "notification area" was now cleared out. How can I recall this notification to get the number?
I never explicitly cleared the notification, I just navigated from it and when I tried to go back it was gone.
