View 24 RepliesI use my phone to stream music to my car's stereo, and when I get a notification of any sort, it plays from my phone and then echoes through my car's speakers. This is rather annoying and I can't find a workaround. If I put my phone on vibrate when I enter the car, then I get no noise from either, and I'd never know if I missed a message or something. Any method to force notification sounds through one audio output or another, not both.
LTE Galaxy Nexus, 4.0.4 JVC KDX50BT is my stereo, if that makes any difference
Since I reset my phone a few weeks ago, I get "Application updates available" notifications every day at 8:50am.
I cannot switch them off. I have disabled notifications in Google Play -> Settings -> Notifications, yet I still get them every day at the same time.
I am running Android 2.3.5 on a HTC Desire S, with HTC Sense Version 3.0
Am using a UK Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Kitkat and the latest versions of all system and 3rd party apps.
I have Samsung's S Planner notifications switched OFF.
However, if I create an event with notifications using either Google Calendar and/or my preferred calendar, Business Calendar Pro, S Planner notifications still pop up/sound. IE, I get multiple notifications for the same event - very annoying!
Even if I FORCE STOP S Planner, it re-enables itself after phone sleep or reset and the notifications switch back on!
NOTE: The 'Show Notifications' checkbox in the 'App Info' dialog is ON but greyed out, so cannot be switched OFF.
Is this Samsung trying to force their apps on us or is it a bug?
Is there a way (an app, framework module, flashable zip, whatever) to disable toast notifications? Ideally, this should work for a specific app but if that's not possible disabling them in total would be fine, too.
"Why would you do that", you may ask. Well, the thing is, I use the app "Best Wifi" to switch my wifi automatically at home since I'm using a repeater there. But as soon as I'm in an area without wifi connection, it tries to connect to a wifi and keeps on sending toast notifications with "no APN found blabla" every 15 seconds. Thats especially disturbing when I use my phone as a navigation device in the car. So, it would be great if I could block those toast notifications from popping up.
Currently, I'm using a rooted Nexus 5 with Beanstalk ROM on 4.4.2.
is there anyway to turn off facebook message notifications? all it says is turn off alerts for 1 hour or till 8 am
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently chat through the native Facebook app has been disabled, and they're now refering to their 'facebook messenger' app. The only problem with that app is, that I'm not able to disable notifications. It only give me two options --> "An hour" or "Until 8 P.M"...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently become somewhat irritated by Words With Friends' notifications, due to the fact they have a rather ugly layout IMO. I would much rather they just displayed like every other notification. Any way to achieve this? (I don't mind modifying the APK or whatever if necessary)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my phone to with two calendar accounts, one google-account for private and one outlook exchange account for company. I want both to sync so that I can watch the calendar (that works). I want my private account to notify me of calendar events (that works). But I do NOT want my company account to notify me of calendar events, because there are so many meetings, that its like SPAM (and I am already reminded by my laptop at work).
So: Can I turn off the notifications for a specific account?
To clarify:
- no I do not want to change the notifications on the appointments, because I do want to be reminded at work
- no I do not want to disable the synchronisation for the company account, because I do want to be able to look at my calendar.
It is easily possible to disable the mail notification for the company account only, but it seems not to be possible for calendar notifications?
I want Gmail notifications to show in the notification bar, but I don't want the green blinking light on my Droid because it's woken me up sometimes at night while in the dock. How do I disable the green blinking light while leaving all the other notifications?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed the gmail unread app and it's pretty cool. But now I get notifications from both the gmail app and the HTC mail app. Is there a way to disable notifications on the HTC app? I only want one notification for each email.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've done some googling, and found plenty of people with my issue, but mine can't seem to be resolved like everyone else's. I've been getting two notifications for every txt I get, one's icon is a Letter, the other's is a Smiley Face. I only use the built-in Messages application that came with the phone, its all I've ever used. If I go into Messages, and disable it from making any notifications, when I get a txt, a tone will still play and I still get the Smiley Face notification. Some people have linked this to Beautiful Widgets Pack 2, and I've seen numerous threads where people uninstall it, and it fixes the issue. I installed Beautiful Widgets Pack 2 last week, didn't like it, and uninstalled it. And yet I still have this issue! I even tried installing it again and then uninstalling it again, then rebooted, and it still pops up a notification with that Smiley Face!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero a few days ago and decided to try out ChompSMS, I am now using this as my default SMS app and all is good except when I receive a text message I get 2 notifications, 1 is from ChompSMS and the other is from the default Android app, can someone tell me how to disable the notifications from the default SMS app?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Gmail and use the Gmail app as my mail app. Gmail notifies me when I have new mail. My Droid also came with the Email app, which is also hooked into my gmail account. By default, it also checks for new messages and notifies me about them. Naturally, I don't want the double-notifications, and the Email app is also crap at marking emails off as read if I've read them in Gmail. So I went into the Email app settings and unchecked "Send notification." That worked great. BUT... it keeps turning itself back on. If I ever restart my phone, it comes back again with the same stupid notifications. I think sometime it resets itself if it restarts itself after I kill it. how to turn off notifications PERMANENTLY?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs simple as the title states, I find the low battery notifications annoying and intrusive; I am quite able to tell my battery is low just by looking at the indicator. how does one go about disabling these notifications?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm somewhat new to smartphones and have a Motorola Droid with 2.1. About 2 days ago I continue to receive a nag screen or notification to update to 2.2. It doesn't have an option to "don't remind me again" and after calling Verizon they didn't know how to disable this constant reminder. Since I don't want to update to 2.2 (maybe a few months later) is there any way that I can block or disable this message?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm not using BeholdII's Sms program, but Handscent instead. This means that when I click the '5 new notifications' thing at the top, it doesn't go away, because it doesn't see me as having opened messaging. How can I disable this and just use the HS notifications?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have handcent as the default sms prog, but when I receive one I get pop ups both from the HTC proggy and Handcent which is a bit annoying.
Any idea how I can disable the built in one?
I have my phone connected to my companies exchange server through touchdown. I would like to disable the notification sound and vibrate for new emails. I get a ton of emails and my phone is buzzing non stop. I turned my notification sound level down but that also stops text notification I would still like to hear those.
Is there a way to stop just email notifications?
Is there a simple way to enable / disable vibrate for the phone / notifications? I tried using the volume rocker, going to vibrate there. That works for the ringers, but not notifications. I mainly want to set / unset vibrate for gmail and Google Voice. I have tried various 3rd party apps like Volume Control / Audio Manager, but nothing seems to work consistently.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought the Samsung Behold 2 and installed the Behold 2 1.6 No Twiz from this forum and so far I'm loving it! Much faster than the stock rom. Now the only problem I have is that when I use an app with ads, such as Alarm Clock Plus V2, I get this "Subscription Upgrade Required" page from my browser since I don't have a data plan. I really don't need a data plan since I just connect through Wi-fi to download all necessary apps/games from the market and use the web. So my question is, is it possible to disable these notifiers? I mean, if I'm connected through Wi-fi I don't get these notifiers, but that's not always the case.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
I have had my Epic 4g for two days now and I am having the some notification and email problems. I don't get notifications when new email is available. I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. I currently have it set to to check email every 5 minutes but this is obviously not happening. and i dont get a blinking LED when i get a SMS, Text message.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter switching to the latest pac man rom, it seems as though I have no new push messages whatsoever. This includes after opening the app as well (it doesn't notify me of unread posts after I open xda)
View 3 Replies View RelatedUpdate:I got a app called "GMail Label Notifier"...it serves the same purpose and is really much more flexible since you can assign unique alerts to each trigger You just need to setup filters in Gmail to apply a label. I have been using it a week or so now and it seems to work great.
I have moved from a BB Tour to the HTC Incredible and really like the Android OS.
A few things I really rely on though I can't seem to replicate on Android. The most important is the "Level 1" or high importance message tagging. With BIS I could setup a filter so that any emails with a specific word or words in the subject line or from a specific email address caused a different alert on the BB when received.
Also, I can't find many options for different notifications like a specific one for emails, another for SMS, another for voice mails, etc.
I don't really use it and i prefer the normal Android home sceens way better than Magazine UX and it is very limited and have no use for it.
I would like to disable the Magazine UX on my Tab Pro 8.4.
And i don't really want to root/custom ROM the Tab Pro 8.4 just to remove Magazine UX.
how to disable Magazine UX on my Samsung Tab Pro 8.4? How to remove Magazine UX?
If i can't disable Magazine UX then it won't be a big deal breaker anyway because it does not slow down my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.
I've recently switched from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy 4. While there are a few issues in adjusting, one major annoyance I am finding is something called 'Google Now' popping up wanting setup. Frankly I'm sick of this doing so and want it to go away, but I don't know how. I've disabled Google notifications and push, but it still keeps coming up - it just seems random with no pattern as to what I am using or doing. I can't delete it because it's not in Apps. There seems to be nothing about how to get rid of it on the 'net unless it's installed - which it's not.
I throw this phone into a wall. I'm loving 90% of it, except for all the maddening and idiotic notifications, prompts, and insistence to install useless rubbish I don't want... such as Google Now.
i`m using galaxy s,and i found that logcat casue bad batterylife,so how can i disable logcat on my phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn 4.2, I'm batch restoring apps in titanium backup. Every app restored requires a "Do you want to install this application?" prompt which requires me to click "Next" one or more times, then "Install" before it'll restore that app. This becomes tedious. Back on 4.1 it would just do all my apps without my intervention. I have unticked Settings>Security>Verify apps.
