I updated my Note 3 on ATT via the OTA update to 4.4.2. I did the factory data reset. I restored my sms via the SMS backup and restore app. All the messages are here but the app seems to be working slow and laggy. The SMS Backup+ did not really work. What are my other options?

I have a rooted LG Optimus L1 ii, running the stock 4.1 ROM that came with it, from which I uninstalled the stock messaging app after installing Hangouts. As you might have guessed I was unaware that the stock messaging app contains the basic messaging capabilities and all other apps rely on this, so now I'm trying to somehow regain the ability to send and receive SMS.
I have tried installing Handcent, GoSMS, and an app called "Android 4.1 JB Messaging SMS", which claims to be the stock messaging app for JellyBean, all of it to no avail.
Therefore my question is, on a very fundamental level, what are the parts of the Android OS that are required for SMS and that I evidently destroyed? Can I get "generic" stock versions of the necessary apks or do they have to be specific to my phone model?
I would like to flash ClockworkMod Recovery (or any other recovery method) on my Tianji i9220 device, because the phone hasn't got too many features, if i push volume+ +power button the Factory menu has only tests and reboot option, but i would like to flash another rom on the device, but i don't want to try until i haven't got a recovery option. (I installed goomanager and i can enter to cwm recovery mode from it, but if i would like to flash the cmw to the phone, idk which version sould i choose)

2. Any other method to backup and restore my ROM it would be good to me! I found a tool called Smart Phone Flash tool. I think it can do it, but i don't know how

Now I wanna flash CM10 on my my device and was wondering, if I create a Nandroid backup before flashing, can I restore my apps and data after I flash it? I mean, am l gonna still be able to retain previous messages, whatsapp conversations, game scores etc...
I recently updated my Mini Pro to Android 2.1, I followed the steps on the sonyericssonsupport YouTube video. I did a Backup of all my stuff on the phone, when I'd updated my phone and turned it on it asked me to setup the phone again with the Language, Time & Date etc and now when I try to restore my settings it says "Could Not Restore" when it is almost done.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to the galaxy note 3 from Verizon and I installed from here in the threads my favorite app for watching or finding movies to watch "videomix" and where it allows me to install an early version it does not allow the app from within itself to update to the current version as it always did back when on android 4.1.2 with earlier phones. And as of late it will no longer allow me to download movies from videomix which again was able to before. What happens is when I check the progress of the download from the status bar it blanks out at whatever percent and stops downloading. SCH-I535

Seems that they dont get set in the play store to "auto update", so usually I have to wind up doing it 1 by 1. Was there a way to mass set the auto update on all my apps? Cause the Play Store Settings, while set to auto update for new apps. Only will be applied on apps installed from play store, not from a restore from backup.

Two days ago I made a backup of contacts, messages etc.But when I try to install the backup and restore I made two days ago it can't complete it.I have my messages but my favourite contacts, timescape and widgets need to be reinstalled. And contacts which I have deleted a week ago are now reappearing on my phone.I have logged in to my gmail and market and all of my apps are in there so that's not the problem.It's like something is working and something is definately not.

I have an AT&T note2. AT&T just had an update, now up to 4.1.2....
Since the update, my favorite app now will not work, the "No lock" app.
This is an app that will allow you to toggle on or off, the screen lock with pattern or code. You turn on screen lock with pattern, (or whatever security type), then use this app to toggle it enabled or disabled...
If the phone is in my pocket, (yeah, note 2 in pocket...lol.) I have lock screen enabled so it won't stay on if a text comes in, or an update / notification. If I'm using phone, I disable the lock screen, so even if the screen times out, the home button will bring it up and back to where I was without a swipe or lock pattern.
So, am I missing something? I think I have tried all the settings I can see, trying to get the app to work. The only way it works slightly, is if I set the phone to only swipe to unlock, no security. Then I can toggle swipe or no swipe. But that does me no good in my pocket. If a text comes in and wakes the phone up, my pocket can swipe to unlock or just keep the screen on from the moisture? or body heat?, or whatever the screen reacts to.
The app I use is No Lock by BoD... It has always worked on my S3, and worked on my Note2, before this last update.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900 that currently has software 4.1.2. I've recently been trying to finally update to 4.3 and it seems my phone is stuck on an old update. It's 28.5MB and it'll show there's an update, I'll download it, it'll say it was successful. I'll then tell it to restart & install, what happens next is it looks like it just does a simply restart. It shuts off, shows the Samsung startup screen, and then I'm back to my homepage. Because of this, I can't update the phone any further. I tried going a Hard Reset (holding vol up, home, then power) and delete data/formating drive and that didn't fix it. I also tried going to the All Applications -> Google Services Framework -> Clear Cache -> Stop Service and what this does it brings up the same page for the 28.5MB download and it does the same thing it's always done.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI live in Denmark I have gotten the 2.1 update a few days ago.The SE startscreen does not work anymore (I am using ADW.launcher anyways but I am thinking about reinstalling the update again to get everything to work as intended.I have notised that the new backup and restore program contains a menu item during backup called Programs from market. I tried to do a backup but that menu item didnt seem to progress from 0 to 100% like the others (Sms phonebook and so on) so I am unsure if the backup file actully contains info on Programs I installed (from market) or not.Problem is that I am getting sick of first remembering all the apps I have downloaded and then downloading them all again. It takes hours and would be so much easier if phone either makes a backup of all programs/apps or at least keept a list of what was installed.Its is not possible to find the programs via market/download list (or at least has not been possible for the last 2 updates for the phone)

I've been at work all day and my incredible has been laggy and I can only send txts using google voice. I usually use handcent but I uninstalled it bc it kept foreclosing after the update. Ive tried repeatedly to use the default message app but when I select it, the only thing that comes up is a blank white screen n then the forceclose message. I haven't received an incoming txt all day either.

Followed the installation to the letter, backed up my files using the new backup n restore etc, updated it n then began the restore, now this is the frustration part. i did everything SE said to do even did 2 backups but when i try to restore it takes ages n then says could not complete. not only have i lost all contacts but more frustrating i have lost all my apps, both paid and free. my Google account seems to be wrong although i cant really remember it, tried to get the user name/password sent to my hotmail but seems to of created a new account n i don't have these "links to re-downloads" ur android apps. please need help big time cause m just ready stuck and frustrated.

I can figure out where to change these security settings. Doesn't seem to be in phone settings or browser settings.

I tried the stock messaging app and it's very slow too. I'm now trying chomp sms and it's still kinda slow as well. Is anybody having this problem? Could it be just a messaging bug in 2.2?

I of course read the woes and pro's of KK 4.2.2 after I did the update!! grin! and do not like the restricted access to my SD card folder creation file transfers etc and want to go back to JB. "A", can I go back with Odin and a stock Bell JB for the note 3, and have it all back like I did before the update...."B" What about my trip counter etc? Will that be effected?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI am on Three UK, and I manually searched for an update for my Galaxy Note 3 today, while on my wireless network. My phone showed that a KitKat 4.4.2 update was available which was approx. 391 MB in size. Downloaded and installed it.
The install worked fine, but after the install, my phone seems to be draining the battery at 1% every minute. I have turned off GPS, wireless, mobile data etc. but to no avail.I don't even have Skype installed on my phone (as Google asked some users to uninstall Skype)
