Has anyone else experienced the problems with HTC Sense force closing and being extremely laggy after installing the android 2.2 update?

If I open People it just sits at the loading screen Messages don't have the people names on it
The people widget doesnt show the group I cant click Phone or call or text anyone Then either people or HTC sense will force close. is there any reason why i can't do anything that relates to my contacts?
I tried to install a theme in ROM manager but I installed it as a ROM. I don't know if this is the problem but honestly everything is force closing now. I have the Sm0KeD FroZeN YoGurT theme right now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Sense keeps force closing on my EVO. I have turned the phone off and back on and the same happens. If I switch to a HTC scene, as opposed to a Custom scene, it works fine for awhile. I had it working almost a whole day, but HTC sense starting force closing again, once it starts, it keeps doing it, until you change HTC scenes again. If you change to a custom scene, the force close continues. I disabled HTC sense. Now I can't turn HTC sense back on, but I don't really want to if I am going to keep having the same issue.
For now I need to know if anyone else is having HTC Sense force close on them, and if there is a fix, or if it is known what is causing it. I will worry about how to turn it back after I find out why it's doing it and can fix it. I did a search for HTC Sense force closes and could not find anything, so I started this thread.
the screen wont respond to anything. and it just keeps restarting itself... and when it turns to the home page.. it always says htc sense failed.

I tried searching for a thread and nothing came up. Forgive me if this has been addressed before.
So I recently moved to a place where I can get 4g pretty much everywhere I go, which is awesome. Unfortunately though, the Evo gets unbearably laggy when I use 4g, even after I turn it off. It can take up to 5 seconds for the screen to turn on. I tried doing a hard reset, and for a day or two the evo was back to it's glorious self...but that was short-lived.Any suggestions?
Is it possible to do this as a manual update, update.zip it and install it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked3. Then applied Unrevoked Forever. Then tried to update to 2.2 with the Update.zip method from the google server file. Phone kept rebooting and force closing. Attempted to Unroot which I am not sure I did properly. I also think my phone is still S-off. Tried to update to 2.2 after unrooting and get errors and it aborts. Now I am also worried that I will not be able to receive the OTA update. Any suggestions? Any way to make sure I am unrooted?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did the offical Froyo update on my phone this afternoon. It was stock with the latest OTA update 1.47. Followed the directions for the update and it went by smoothly until after I tried setting up my phone (Google account). I did a hard reset and everything was fine until a few minutes ago. I was able to sign into my Google, Facebook and Aim accounts. It is now back to an endless loop of trying to load Sense and force closing. Of course I can do another hard rest but is it too early to assume the force close loop problem will return? My phone is not functioning and I cannot even go into the setting to turn of Sense.

All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck.But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for com.htc.launcher. Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine.But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI remember when HTC Hero came out, I was about to buy it but then all the reviews came out and said it was extremely laggy. So I went with an iPhone 3G. But now I noticed that Hero got firmware updates and whatnot, so how does the phone work in terms of lag? Is it still laggy, or what? If any one of you have used an iPhone before, how does it compare to HTC Hero? I love the Android interface, I used to own the Magic, but I cannot deal with lag. And I don't want to get into the hassle of rooting/changing roms and whatnot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe SMS keeps force closing on me on my Droid 41/09. Sometimes two or three times a day. When it force closes, it deletes all threads. It even does it when there is only one thread with a few messages in it. I haven't noticed anything specific that causes the force close to happen, it just happens when it wants to. I removed all downlaoded apps and the problem persists. I am using the default messaging app. Is anyone else experiencing this and has anyone found a solution? I absolutely love this phone and it is my first Android device.
