Nexus 7 2012 when connected to Win 7 pc is not recognized in explorer so can't transfer files between the two except when N7 is in camera mode.
I've read countless posts saying to update usb drivers. I have the latest installed now from Google. I had so much trouble getting adb & fastboot to work that I'm leery about messing with my usb drivers.

I have windows update turned on. I tried checking this on another USB port, but same doesnt get recognised. I even tried it on different PC, it gets perfectly recognised there.
I checked Samsung Galaxy s2, galaxy ACE, desire C, but none of them could get connected. In the device manager it shows an error "THE DEVICE CANNOT START (code 10)"
I even tried using ANdroid SDK drivers & also the SAmsung drivers on their site. But it coudnt start. Windows update also coudn't find a suitable driver for it.

The system works just fine after a fresh reboot of my PC. After a few hours, I get the "Login Fails" error (plain text or SMB). The only way to fix it is to reboot my PC. I believe its a Windows 7 setting that causing this. I searched all over the net for a fix and none of them worked. I tried:
Enabling Guest Account
Changed Advanced Sharing Settings
Set "Everyone" as read in the File Share Window
Enabled Inbound/Outbound rules in the Advanced Windows Firewall
Enabled sending unencrypted passwords to SMB via Local Security Policy
I can go into more detail of the fixes I tried if needed. What is an alternative to sharing files from a Windows 7 machine to Android devices? I feel like Ill never get ES File Explorer to work.
So I have a Samsung Vibrant (just got it recently) and I'm having problems when i connect it to the computer. It gives me an USB device not recognized on my windows 8 computer. I have spent all morning searching and reinstalling drivers and trying my old pc and new cables and i found out that my old windows 7 computer with 4GB of ram and an overloaded hard drive will detect my device the problem there is it not my main computer and i don't want to have to connect all the vga cables boot it up connect mouse and ets to use this computer just to be able to copy files, and do other things from my computer to my phone I don't know why my main computer dell inspiron windows 8 will not work when it was a couple of days ago when i had a problem with connectivity and had to flash back to stock but now it wont connect.

Is it possible to boot a linux or windows os instead of android? I saw something, if I remember right, there was an app which booted linux os. But it should be like custom ROM.

The thing that I am having troubles with is that I have a nexus 7 tablet that is softbricked, I have already gone through a lot of ways to fix that problem (I found the best solution is this:[URL]. However, the issue is is that I cannot get my computer to recognize the nexus tablet to flash it and restore it back to factory settings.
I have installed and updated the device drivers on my computer, but still I have had no such luck. I found that ADB doesn't recognize the device whilst in the Bootloader, but still will not recognize the device in recovery mode.
My nexus 4 has no OS in it, while connecting to PC it was showing "USB device not recognized" I've actually tried to google but couldn't find anything.

When I first got my Samsung Galaxy S 8GB I downloaded the Kies software and everything seemed to work O.K, I was even able to sync some of my music from my pc. I stored them on the phones internal memory and they worked fine, I haven't yet got around to buying a micro sd-card,besides why do I need to buy a card to increase the memory when the phones memory is practically empty. Now, a few days later when I connected to my pc, the Kies software launched but doesn't recognise the phone like it did before. It is not recognised in the Windows device manager list, I have uninstalled and re-installed Kies 3 times, all to no result. I noticed at the bottom of the download site it said it only supported Windows 7 32 bit, could that be the reason why it does not work properly?, if it is, why did it work O.K in the beginning?. Also when I try to use the music player it just tells me I do not have a sd-card installed, when it worked perfectly well last week.

I have bought a new cable < universal> I did not have the OEM cable and Samsung refused to send me one said it was tmobiles responsibility. I have hooked it up to a Vista 32 bit system and nothing. Also when I hook it too the usb it only shows charging no usb notification on the screen. I seem to remember reading it should have a usb symbol on the upper right corner? I have also already set the system setting to usb mass storage.
I'm using the MixZing app for my music. It's otherwise not bad, but I find I have to manually (and individually!) enter songs to a Playlist from my G1. I'd rather do it via Windows Explorer with a right-click function, but I don't believe there is one. Is there any way I can add songs on my G1 to a playlist using Windows Explorer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can install and run HTC Sync on my laptop okay. I can even sync my Desire no problem. Trouble is, while I have HTC Sync on my laptop, Windows Explorer will not work. It shuts down and then tries unsuccessfully to restart. Doing a system restore to remove HTC Sync cures the problem. Anyone else having these problems? Any ideas how to fix it. I am running Windows 7 (32 bit).

I'm using a 16Gb card that worked fine in my G1. Windows reports that there is over 14Gb free. I've tried formatting the card via the phone and using other software to transfer the files eg Doubletwist but I still get the same problems.

I tried to load Cyanogenmod on my galaxy nexus. unfortunately I had copied one of the nightly update files instead of a stable version. so the install did'nt work and I did a factory reset from recovery mode. Now the computer doesn't even recognize my phone any more, when I connect it via USB. and my phone is stuck on the google screen when I try to turn it on.

In the Android Eclipse plugin, I have downloaded and installed the USB driver (revision 3) package. But when I connect my Nexus One to my PC (running Windows 7) using the USB cable, a message box pops up and shows that "No driver found" for "Nexus One". I have activated USB Debugging on my device. And when I run adb devices on my PC, it just prints List of devices attached and no devices are listed. And if I use Device Manages in Windows, and tries to update the driver for "Nexus One", I can not select a driver in the "driver directory" of Android SDK. When i plug my phone into my mac at work, the computer doesn't recognize the phone and the phone doesn't recognize that it's been plugged into a computer. it starts charging but no alert about being plugged in by usb, and i can't gain access to options like choosing ptp or mtp. on the mac, android file transfer just says "no device found" as if nothing were plugged in.

So all of a sudden my phone will not connect to any computer regardless of what usb cord I use. I get a message that pops up in windows that says "USB Device Not Recognized" yet my phone is charging. I've wiped multiple times and reflashed my rom and still no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers but it didnt do anything. If I use cpufrills I can put the speed at 1.5 but he still fixes at 1.2,is there any solution? I dont have a backup of the original system because the recovery that loads from the SD card to do root is too primitive.

If i connect to pc when turned off, it will get stuck in the first image (the one with Battery and Lightning, but won't go through the second image (animation of battery "filled up" and battery percentage) At beginning i thought about an hardware problem, but these 2 strange behaviours give me the idea of something software inside the phone that's not working in the right way.

I used winrar to open a com apk file and edit a specific text file however I accidentally didn't un-click the "use as default program" box and now right-clicking and apk file will not display the decompile option or install to phone option any longer. I figured since the default program had been changed it was not being recognized by one click apk any longer so I deleted the default program for the apk file type in the registry and uninstalled then re installed the shellext for APK_OneClick however the right-click apk options still will not show. I can recompile folders to APKs but nothing else.
I am assuming my problem is fro the whole winrar accident as the icon provided with OneClick no longer is displayed for apk files either I just can't solve the issue.
I have tried open file with whe right clicking apks and it will allow me to select the decompile file in the APK_OneClick folder manully but then after recompiling the disarm folder back into an APK it fails to install to the phone via USB and after moving it to the phone it has a parsing error.
