Some time ago I bought a G-box, an android based miniPC with hdmi output. I love Netflix but I need subtitles, which are present, indeed, but are ultra small on my 32" LCD (see pic) and just readable on my 42" LED. As Netflix users knows, there is not a configuration panel for this application and beside the embarrassing limitation of streaming 480p like I'm used to see on my Wii this is quite annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Xoom and a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. I have my tablet connected to the TV via HDMI. When I open the Netflix app with the keyboard I cannot use the arrow keys to navigate the app. I tired the Tablet Remote app, but it has the same results. I thought of maybe trying TeamViewer on phone and tablet, but thought there might be a better solution.
Is there a way to remotely use the Netflix app on my tablet so I can use it on my TV?

I have TP-1042ND and conected HD with movies, my stock S3 player sees nearby device TP link media server and plays movies but without subtitles (they are in correct format as when i download movie to device with them plays ok)... Samsung Link don't see nearby device so can't use it... Only thing i can do i play movie from DLNA explorer via Mx player and then load subtitles form device when i downloaded them... MX player is slow and plays in SW only to see subs on TV... when HW subs are on phone screen and movie is on TV... I try some players from market but none plays subs and movie together.. only movie is shown...

I'm having some problems for playing it nicelly.
With hardware decoding:
Only the stock samsung "Video Player" is able to play at TV resolution with the subtitles. The problem is that it seems to have an annoying bug that makes the subtitles stuck. After someone ends talking, the last sub don't vanish/disappear, it keeps there on the screen until the next speech. It's discussed at another older thread but no one was able to provide solution at that time.
With Software decoding:
I can get the subs with a third party player (like MX Player), but it doesn't stream the video to the TV directly, like the stock video player does. What I get is a rescaled screen, like when not playing a video, just browsing Android, and as such, not only it's not playing 720p/1080p video, but also, I get black areas because the phone aspect ratio doesn't match the TV aspect ratio.
As can be seen in the mentioned thread, there was a "stuck subtitle" problem with another Samsung device. Is this a bug with all Samsung devices?
Is there an alternative player that can play videos with hardware decoding and also display subtitles? So it can take all my TV screen.
I have a THL W8, and have some problems using netfix apk, On stock ROM netflix plays extreme slow, like slow motion. Then I upgrade to Gravitymod2 custom ROM, and now plays a normal speed, but only plays audio, video shows blank screen.

The audio will play but the screen is black while the video plays, unless you advance the the video by hand then you can see the video play while it is buffering, but of course you can not hear anything when you advance the video by hand. I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

Unfortunately with the Nexus 7's awesome 1280x800 display the default font size Netflix has chosen is pretty small, it's like a 20 point font or something as this screenshot shows:
I've been searching through the filesystem on this Nexus 7 and I haven't had much luck with locating something like a "build.prop" file for the Netflix app that might allow me to adjust the size of the font it uses by default. If there's a way to alter that and make it about twice as large as the default size I really would love to make that a reality.
I rooted my mytouch 4g with the gingerbread rom, i installed the apk and patch for netflix and works perfectly. only problem is my wifi will not connect anymore.

My scenario is this: I want to create a free/demo version of my game and a complete version. The player should be able to play the free version, then upgrade to the complete and continue where the free version ended - ie. the complete version would need to load a savegame created by the free version.
I am looking into developing an App that will convert a website into more readable data for an android app. I am at university and have an online notice board which can be viewed on the web but if possible I would like to transfer this into an app on android to make it more easy to read on mobile devices.
What I thinking is that the app would go to the website where the notice board is held and read in the html code to display each notice in a list adapter view. Each notice is within its own div so I assume I could use that to split each notice up into its own button on the list adapter view. Is this possible and if so how I can go about doing this. I have tried google for an answer but I have not yet found a solution to this problem.
I have and HTC Magic from Rogers. I do not use Rogers services as I live in Asia. It has the 1.6 system and has not been upgraded in any way. I am 50 and have trouble reading Gmail messages, The letters are too small. I can magnify the web browser so I can read the web sites but not gmail. I just updated to the Froyo via the OTA and now when I plug my Dinc in to be charged (while it is on), I get the following message:

I have a listView of contacts that I got from the Android ContactManager sample. This list is showing up fine, but I can't figure out how to get info from the selected item, like "name" and "phone number".
I can get the selected position, but the result of the mContactList.getItemAtPosition(position) is a ContentResolver$CursorWrapperInner and that doesn't really make any sense to me. I can't get heads or tails from that.
Anyone know how I can get the name/id/phone number from the selected item in the listView?
