General :: Looking For App To Dim S4 Screen When MHL Is Activated

i'm on android 4.3 and im looking for an app that will shut off the screen when connected to hdmi via my MHL adapter. Im rooted. i used to use screen standby but it no longer works on 4.3 and it seems the developer has abandoned it. Are there any alternatives currently out there at the moment? I love playing my playstation emulator on the tv but can only play for about an hour until the battery is dead

So I was blowing on my screen to blow off an eye lash and my messages widget was activated Anybody else experience this? I just traded my 3gs for this phone and boy do I miss my 3gs, it was much easier to use. Just when I though this was the worst phone possible, now this weird quirk Hopefully the 2.1 update will help with the crapiness of the keyboard and how leggy the phone really is.

I used to work with phones and am aware that most Android phones have two boxes you can check/uncheck the first time you turn them on. One says something about using your location for Google apps. The other says something like "allow Google to collect anonymous location data". When I got a new phone today, the clerk turned it on when I wasn't paying attention as part of the setup process and checked both boxes without checking with me first. Where can I disable these features now that the phone has already gone through its initial setup process?
Edit: Found the answer to one of these shortly after posting due to a better-worded search. Apparently turning off "Use wireless networks" and "Use GPS satellites" under "Location and security" turns off anonymous collection of data. (I had seen these while searching the phone earlier, but the caption does not make it clear that checking them enables Google to collect anonymous location data even when you aren't running any apps. It's only when you uncheck them and try to check them again that it pops up with this information.)

I was hearing things the first time this happened, but before I answered an incoming call on my Evo I heard a voice on the other end while my phone was ringing. Well today I heard it again so I decided to check it out, so I called myself on my girlfriends phone and lo and behold I could hear myself on my Evo while it was ringing before I even touched the slide to unlock.

Loving the phone but every once in a while - like three times yesterday and once today the touchscreen goes haywire. I click on an icon and it doesnt register or the icon below is activated. On the keyboard I tap a letter and another key is activated. If I turn off phone and then back on all is perfect again for a while. It seems to be happening in the lower third of the screen. Anyone experience this? Do you think software or hardware? Im thinking software because the reset fixes problem.

Just as the title says, I am wondering if the GPS on the Droid will be able to connect and work without the phone being activated on Verizon. I would have an offline GPS app that has all the maps downloaded so I wouldn't need a 3G connection. Would the phone still be able to pick up the satellites and my position even if m not on Verizon?

So I switched to the 2.2 leak and decided to do the .sbf method to get 2.1 back because I thought 2.2 was a bit buggy for my tastes. Unfortunately, when I had gotten 2.1 back on my phone, I could not activate. It simply said it cannot do it. I tried switching back (again) to 2.2, same problem. Tried manual user activation via ##7762726, still nothing.

Does any one have problems answering phone call? When I pull my phone out of my pocket 75% time my hand touches return or home pad and kicks screen out of call display. So I hear my phone ring but can't answer it as I'm in home screen or it just cancels my call. I thought it was something to do with the signal, but I tested it in present of Rogers sale rep and he was surprised that HOME and RETURN buttons can be activated in ringing mode?

I was wondering. Is there an app for changing the soft keys on my Samsung Vibrant to only activate when pressed long or double clicked? I am just sick and tired of accidentally pressing them because they are so damn sensitive, and unlike the Fascinate or Epic 4g, so close to the touch screen that pressing spacebar on the onscreen keyboard half the time results in hitting the soft keys by accident. I don't understand why we can't customize what the soft keys do and how long or many times activates them, because if you got even normal sized finger tips, it's so annoying to be typing into the search bar and then press back right below and have to retype everything again.

A Tasker task that when I'm on the lockscreen, I can tap or double tap to turn the screen off. I've looked in the Tasker tasks and I'm unable to find anything for this. I already use the Nova gesture+ScreenOff app to turn the screen off when I'm unlocked and at the homescreen, which works perfectly. The only thing Nova can't do it turn the screen off from the lockscreen.

I need to get data off my phone and I am trying to figure out ways to do it short of replacing the screen on it.
It is stock and has a PIN lock screen. When I try hooking it up through Kies it says I need to unlock my phone and apparently whatever steps I need to do I cannot.
I was wondering if I buy an MHL hdmi adapter if it would start mirroring as soon as I plugged it in or if I would need to enable mirroring somewhere in a menu stuck behind the lock screen which I cannot get to?
if the MHL adapter starts working immediately when plugged in (mirrors lock screen) or how to get my data off?

I am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?

so my HTC One X's touch screen is totally unresponsive. Everything else is working fine and I'm still getting messages and notifications (and my alarms are going off), but I can't get to any of it. I've backed it up and tried to do a hard reset, but holding down the volume down + power button is just taking a screenshot and then restarting. I can't do it through settings as the touch screen is not working.

My Virgin Mobile HTC EVO 3D on ICS is having touch screen issues...but only in games. In games such as Minecraft: PE, Modern Combat 4, Modern Combat 3, COD:BOZ, N64oid, and similar games which use an on-screen joystick, it isn't working. I can place my finger on the joystick (or where it's supposed to be) and try and touch and drag, but it either doesn't respond or responds for half a second then acts as if my thumb isn't even there. It's really driving me insane. I'm not able to play any of these expensive apps anymore. My old EVO 3D recently killed itself due to an unknown issue, so VM sent me the phone I have now literally the day after Christmas. I had this same issue with my last EVO 3D. It's gotten to the point where I'm considering purchasing a PowerA MOGA controller, just so I can play these apps.

I am using the camera app that came along the phone its good. But If i am using other photo apps like picsart or*instagram the *screen looks dark and cant see anything through the camera. It looks dark.And also other apps like*qr code and Google goggles they also *looks dark through camera. Its running jellybean 4.1.2 out of box.
