i have samsung galaxy y duos.
I'm working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, which has a folder in the app drawer. I want to move the apps in that folder OUT of there, and just put them back into the overall app drawer.
But I just can't even begin to figure it out -- all I can do is move the apps to a home screen, but they'll remain in that app drawer folder.
I have an Android 4.4.2 KitKat and I want to sort apps by type (tools, game, social ...) in apps drawer.
Is there any applications that can allow to create a sort by type ? I don't want to install new launcher like Go launcher but just mods or apks that can I use with my default launcher.
Okay so I rooted my phone to get rid of some of the bloatware. I renamed the Social Networking app but it is still showing up in my app drawer even though I renamed it!

The problem is that some apps are not showing in the app drawer, like for example contacts, os google talk. They are installed, becaused they show in the list from Settings->apps. I can't access those apps and other by any way!! I tried different launchers, but it's the same.
MY QUESTION - APPS IN APEX LAUNCHER - Nexus 4
When I install an app (which is typically via the Play Store) the app icon does not end up on my home screen. Or what I think Apex calls a drawer. Occasionally an app does appear there automatically, but perhaps a couple out of the 50 or so apps I've installed.
The only way I have found to get them onto my drawer (or home screen) is I have to hold my finder on the screen and the "Add to Home screen" menu pops up. From there I can select "Shortcuts" and from the top of that menu I can select "Apps". I can then select just ONE app to appear on my home screen. But the thought of doing this for every app doesn't make sense to me. Is there a way to get them there automatically?
Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding the concept of the home screens. I am switching over from iOS, and there one organises all apps on home screens. Perhaps on Android the home screen is not meant for storing and accessing all the app icons??
Since I updated I can't hide apps in the all apps view. How to do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a situation like this. I have a "A" app which shows on home screen. When I click this "A" app, It will show many other apps which installed or will be installed on the device. ut the problem is I only want to show these apps through the "A" app only.Is it possible?? If installing and hiding icons not possible, I can dynamically download these apps from my own cloud and load them at the request.
Can anyone please guide me some ideas or something?'m so lost here and just no clue at all how to start!
This is my first experience with Android. Is there a way to delete or at least hide the icon for unwanted or unneeded applications such as corporate calendar?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Note 2. The only reason I bought it because on iphone I wasn't able to hide my apps without jailbreaking. I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!
Is there a way I can tell the stock apps (music, gallery etc) to only look in certain folders? For example, I have a folder /Music and I only want the music app to look there. The Gallery I only want to look at photos.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking at a good way to hide apps from the list. I want the apps to be able to run (like Email) and do the sync, but not to display the icons in the list. I have seen that ICS comes with a "Disable" function for system apps, but it doesn't work for me because it also prevents the app from running.
I also want a way to launch the apps myself (through a hidden menu or command) at will.
I have tried things like Application Protection, which allows you to password protect the apps you want. However, since the icons are still there, it is still tempting for my kind to click and ask for the password.
When I navigate the menu, it's because I want to access apps that are not in my launcher.
Is there some app out there that makes the apps that you have in your launcher disappear from the menu?
i read where you can't delete with out rooting or some work.can we hide them or possibly put them in a folder? i don't like seeing them in my app menu

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there's an app or something I can use to control the chaos that is my app drawer. I keep all my commonly used apps on my Home screens, but when I need to use something less common, it takes me a bit of time to sort through the list and find what I need. I hate that some apps (Where's My Droid, Backgrounds, Gmail Notifier, etc) do little more than give me settings or other one time use functions but still clutter up my app drawer. Ideally, there could be some kind of app that allows me to make folders within the app drawer and reduce the mess a bit. I know there are such things for the Home screens, but does anyone use something similar for the app drawer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a bunch of live wallpapers for sale, and have a lot of 1-star comments that just say "Doesn't open". This is because there's no launcher activity, so the open button is greyed out after download. I'm attempting to fix this by including an activity that explains what to do, and I'm trying to avoid useless app clutter by disabling that activity once they've successfully used the wallpaper. This seems to work fine, the problem is the app icon doesn't go away right away. It stays in the app drawer and if you tap it you get a "this has been disabled" message. Eventually it will be removed if the phone is rebooted or if the home app is restarted. I'd like to clean this up. Is there a way to tell Home to refresh this list, or to otherwise tell it to remove the icon from the listing? It seems a bit rude to process kill Home for this purpose, and clearly something like this happens when an app is installed/ uninstalled.
