General :: Internet Connection Fails After Trying To Call Via Skype?
Apr 7, 2013
I have HTC Desire Bravo Gingerbread, Win7. I'm sharing my connection via Virtual Router Manager v1.0. I can successfully connect to internet and surf. I can even sign in to skype. But When I try to call someone via Skype (call someone to their phone) it just kindda blocks internet connection. neither call works neither surfing the net works. But connection works on my laptop.

my s4 recently developed a problem where both audio and microphone are disabled ( speaker, headset, earpiece.. all audio input and outputs ) during phone calls using the default 'phone' app , but works fine using vibr , Skype ect. There is no other issue with the sound everything works fine.
I have tried....
-a factory reset
-certain apps that divert sound to one output
-plugging and unplugging a headset
-contacting my service provider ... for no reason as its the phone that's at fault.
I have run out of options and am not tech savy with phones / android

How to set up my internet connection but I am having some problems. When my services bars are blue, and it says 3G or 4G LTE next to it, I can connect to the internet, or if I am in a, area with wifi, I can connect to that. However, If I am not on wifi, and the service bars are grey (without 3G or 4G LTE written next to it), I can not connect to the internet, get my emails, etc. I have a DROID BIONIC.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.0.3 XXLPQ.It's rooted and now has CM9 installed.Unfortunately for some bizarre reason I have no internet connection. I've installed a different modem and it hasn't fixed the issue. APN settings are correct (I've spoken to my network). Sometimes it works absolutely fine then after a few moments it just won't load anything and I get a 'No internet connection' warning. Apps won't work either due to no connection. However I do have a 'H' and sometimes '3G' next to the signal bars. WiFi is working fine. Have full signal.. I've started from scratch and wiped everything several times and re-flashed xxLPQ but still nothing.

I updated my AT&T Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 a few weeks ago.
Ever since then, I routinely get a notification that says "Your Internet Connection is Unstable".
It seems to happen each time I turn my bluetooth connection on.
Phone on > connected to my home wifi (2.4 gHz) > bluetooth is off > turn bluetooth on > get the "internet connection unstable" message.
If I keep my bluetooth off, then I never get this notification.
I have already wiped the cache partition as noted from thread [URL]...

It's a Motorola Xoom running Android 4.1.2. The issue it's having is that even though the tablet is connected to the internet none of the apps (play store, YouTube, etc) will connect. They all say 'no internet connection'. The only way I know the tablet is actually connected to Wi-Fi is that the internet browser still works. This might be unrelated to the issue but every single website I go to it gives me the warning 'Security warning: There are problems with the security certificate for this site'. Sometimes I will have to hit cancel 10 times before the warning goes away.
this is something I can fix without doing a complete reset because there are pictures and stuff I don't want to lose. Since I can't connect to google play I can't back them up to am app like dropbox either.

Assuming the following:
Android 2.3.7 device is connected to an IPv6 internet connection
Tethering is legal for your device/carrier
The ipv6-test gives 10/10 (perfect score) for IPv6 readiness for your phone, and you can access e.g. [URL] ..... using the phone itself
You want to tether to a PC using USB
Device is rooted
Is there a way to give the PC access to the phone's IPv6 internet connection?
I'm assuming that we can't give the PC a public IPv6 address, because the phone is probably only allotted one IPv6 address from the carrier; plus they might treat your plan differently or something if you try to claim another IP address (it's an unnecessary complexity)
So what we actually need to do is, to create a NAT IPv6 space on the device, just like we do for IPv4 when we tether, and provision an IP to the PC that way. Then we have to do something for DNS; I guess we can use OpenDNS's AAAA servers.
Do any of the existing tethering methods support this at all, or is this something I'd have to do manually? Also, is it possible even in theory on Android 2.3, or is it known that a newer version of Android will enable it?

the internet often fails to fully load the page I request, even when the display at the top is indicating 3g/3g+. The web address bar will half load and then stop and the only way to get the internet working again appears to be by turning the phone off and on. It does this 3 or 4 times a day. Also, whilst on the topic of internet problems, Google will often look to have loaded, but the location bit under the search box will never appear, nor will my default email address at the bottom of the Google homepage. When this happens whilst I can type in the search box, clicking the search button does nothing and can only be remedied, again, by turning off and on. This also happens a couple of times per day at least.
Secondly, since weekend, my phone has been 'crashing' (for want of a better word) mid-way through text messaging (very annoying if it's a long message as it doesn't save any progress). The screen will go black, signal will drop to nothing with a cross through it and then I'll be returned to the screen I was in previously. The same happens during calls - the phone will hang up, call will end, and the screen will go black with a line through the middle of it. I've had the phone since May and, as it's Orange branded, is still on 2.1. To be honest, overall I'm becoming fed up with it - seems to have more problems than it does positives at the moment, but I'm stuck with it for a while yet it would seem.

Some of my closed apps automatically start when internet connection is opened. How do they sence the connection is opened? Is there an app that can stop them from opening?
My app killer will kill them when I manually hit the kill bottom or when the phone is locked. But there is no settings that stop them from starting and running after I start my data or WiFi connection.

Often times "like aboard an airplane" there's someone you want to talk with, but can't, because they're in a different seat. Is there any app that would allow people to:
a) send messages to other Android phones via bluetooth
b) sent messages by connecting to a common wifi network (yet not connected to the internet)
c) create an ad-hoc network and send messages that way.
Would any of those be feasible at all?

I just ordered a Lenovo S2110 Android tablet with keyboard dock. The idea was to use this 20 hour machine on road trips to do work related activities. For my job, I need to connect via VPN to get access to my work's intranet. I can do that fine in Windows on my pc or my work laptop. I was hoping to do this via Android and the Cisco AnyConnect program. Unfortunately my company doesnt have the license for Cisco AnyConnect mobile so I cannot connect directly via android.
Is it at all possible to connect and share the connection via my home pc that is connected via VPN via the internet somehow? Meaning, can I have VPN running at home and if I am away, connect through the internet and get the VPN tunnel to my android so I can connect to the work websites through the Android browser? Or access my shared network drive?
Only other option I see is using Team Viewer of Splash Desktop to connect as a remote session, but that is not preferable .

Is anyone using the Skype modified app that allows you to call over the data network? I was wondering how it's working for others. Mine has been horrible as far as call quality. Almost unusable. I'm on 3G. I was wondering if there were any settings that needed to be enabled or unenabled? My Skype WiFi works great.

I'm having a problem getting my android dev environment setup in Windows 7. I follow the instructions here, as well as several environment sublinks. I am using Eclipse with the Android plugin. I have installed the Java JDK several times, in various locations (jdk-6u20-windows-i586.exe) - but I am obviously missing something.
Every time I run "android create avd --target 2 --name my_avd" I get an error:
C:Usersandrew>android create avd --target 2 --name my_avd
WARNING: Java not found in your path.
Checking it it's installed in C:Program FilesJava instead.
ERROR: No suitable Java found. In order to properly use the Android Developer
Tools, you need a suitable version of Java installed on your system. We
recommend that you install the JDK version of JavaSE, available here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/
You can find the complete Android SDK requirements here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/requirements.html
This error message is the reason for me installing the JDK several times over. First I tried installing to a location on my e: drive. I then moved it to the default loc (program files (x86)javajdk.6.something. I also tried forcing it to go into the program files path, but it still automatically installs into the (x86) path. I have added the install path to my path environment variable every single time, yet I still continue to get this error. My suspicion is that windows 7 and the android tools are not playing together well in terms of finding the JDK, but who knows, it may be something entirely different. If you have seen this error before.

ie Galaxy S (in some places), or iPhone 4 (although I'm sure this would go against their policies..)

I have tried with zero success to get a USB debug connection from a WinXP dev box to a brand X Android 1.6 tablet. I believe I had everything configured correctly on the Android and installed correctly on the dev box, but when the two are connected with a USB cable NOTHING HAPPENS; i.e. Windows finds no new hardware much less a new USB device; therefore, I cannot then install the Android SDK USB drivers on Windows and do the debug thing with Eclipse.
Either the mfg of the Android tablet device has disabled USB debugging and just didn't remove the UI that appears to enable it -- or I've left out some crucial step(s). (The device manual is 100% Chinese and I'm 0% Chinese, so it's no help. The tablet is very nearly, but not, the model A84 7" touch screen 'laptop' at 'www.lezestar.com' in case this helps.)
On the tablet:
- 'Settings/Application/Development/USB Debugging' is enabled.
- Tried 'Settings/Application/Development/Allow mock locations' enabled and not.
- Has 500MB internal flash 'hard disk'
- Has installed 2G SD card
- Firmware: 1.6
- Kernel: 2.6.29-002360g4f8dbbb-dirty
- Build No: 1.7.3
On Dev box:
- Windows XP SP3
- Device Manager finds no 'new hardware' when XP<-->Android USB cable is connected.
- Neither USBDeview.exe (Nirsoft) nor USBView.exe (Microsoft) find any evidence of connection with the Android
- Eclipse Galileo (3.5.2) with Android SDK (for 1.6) and ADV Manager.
- USB Driver package, rev 3. downloaded using ADV Manager.
Other:
- USB ports on both Tablet and dev box successfully connect a USB mouse.
- Tablet and Windows XP have been rebooted often.
Is permanently disabling debugging something that Android manufacturors are allowed to do and therefore I'm trying something that can't be done?
If the mfg has 'disabled' debugging, is there a way to work around this; e.g. download a tool that can change Android OS configuration to reenable it?

For the past few days, I have been having occasional problems connecting to the internet when my signal is showing as full bars of 3G. It usually corrects itself when I reboot but then happens again after some time. This happens when using both the dolphin and skyfire browsers. Ive also not been able to use my Sprint hotspot for the past two days. My laptop and iPhone show as being connected to the EVO via wifi but are unable to access the internet through it. Anyone else having these problems?

I checked the other "no internet connection threads" but I don't quite see the same problem as I think I'm having. I have a non-rooted Desire (Swiss Sunrise) and I updated to 2.2. I'm going on a week's holiday soon and I wanted to see if my Irish sim would work in my phone because the data roaming rates with Sunrise are extortionate (13.90 Swiss francs per megabyte!). Lo and behold, I put the card in and it works no problem! I rang my wife's phone just to check.
There was an alert that came up, asking me to select my home network and I chose o2.ie and I think this may be where things went wrong. Now I can't connect to the mobile internet network even though I have selected Sunrise in settings->wireless/network->mobile network->access point names. Can someone tell me how I can reset my home network to Sunrise?
