I want to install a new rom to my android tablet. There are necessary instructions and files. One of the files are rockchip batch tool v1.5 and other is a disc image file named rom.
It says
1- load the drivers
2-select the img file (rom) in batch tool
3-install it to device by clicking restore.
Is this enough or should i delete the rom that is already loaded in my tablet.Like when we format the old OS in computers?
My tablet uses android 4.1.1
I have an 8 inch tablet. Its a curtis Klu 8025. Well somehow the entire operating system is wiped out. Yes i mean completely gone. When you power the device on, it comes to the generic power on screen and then nothing. I have done the whole holding the power button, hitting the reset button, all of those things. I need to re-install the OS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm getting an "insufficient storage" error on installing apps from Google Play (even small 6mb apps). I find if i delete several apps and run it again it works (there is apparently 470MB free despite this).
I've seen references to changing settings so that Google Play installs to the SD card but cant figure out which apply here. And also to clearing the cache for applications (in the TWRP app perhaps?).
I've run the jmz script from the Nabi 2 root thread, but I think I'm missing a step or two (although apps do in fact install, which they wouldn't before).
Is it possible to install a paid for application on my phone and my tablet or do I just have to pay and install on both devices?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an app which has a download size of about 7MB and an installed/ configured size of about 25MB. So far, I've been handling this by using the SD card for the baulk of the data. This works fine although the installation process is a little cumbersome. I notice the smallest of the Archos 5 tablets is 8GB.
Can someone confirm whether this is all part of the internal memory? In other words, can /data/data/com.mypackage fill this memory (potentially). If so, does this mean there is a good chance that getExternalStorageDirectory() will quite often return null? Because people will have less need to use an external SD card.
I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

It then deleted all of my contacts. So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing. However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself. Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

I have tried to update the default youtube app on my nexus one (Froyo) numerous times. I get the message "Error Installing - Package file was not signed correctly". I'm having an issue with my tablet, an Onda VI40 Ultimate. It was left off for a day or two, and when I plugged it in yesterday I got the battery screen, but it was in orange and showing that it needed to be charged. I figured I'd leave it alone for a few hours, then come back to it.
I left it plugged in for four hours, but when I came back to it the tablet is just giving the same message. I took out the charger, plugged it in again and got the same screen. I plugged it into my desktop pc via usb cable, and it just gives the same screen over and over. I got another charger, one exactly like it, and plugged it in. Same screen again. I pressed the reset button, same screen. I tried holding down the power button and volume up button, but no deal. I have the latest CM9 build installed on it, with ICS 4.0.4.
I have included below a terribly blurry photograph of what I'm seeing when I try to turn it on, or do anything with it. The tablet just never seems to charge no matter what I do, nor will it boot in any way.
Thinking about getting the moms a tablet for Christmas. Loving the reviews of the Asus Transformer but my original plan was getting her a 4G device so that she can use it even when wifi isn't available. Just wanted thoughts and opinions from those who have had experiences on either end and any recommendations.

Does Android 4.1 allow a device to serve as a Hands-Free Profile (HFP) device? Similar to the way many newer cars come with integrated Bluetooth/HFP, I would like to use my tablet (Nexus 7) as a front-end for my phone. When an incoming call comes in, the phone should relay the call over Bluetooth to the tablet; it should also allow the tablet to make outgoing calls via Bluetooth over the phone's network.
I am not interested in solutions such as GrooveIP, Talkatone, and SIPDroid. I am specifically looking for Bluetooth HFP.I wouldn't mind looking into developing such a product - but I first wanted to know if the HSP 1.6 host API was available in Android 4.1. I've seen resources stating it was available in ICS 4.0, but I believe this is to allow Android devices to connect to third-party HSP devices - I'm looking to do the opposite (i.e. have the Android device serve as the HSP host).

I was getting this cheapo tablet ready to sell and wanted to reset it to factory settings but there was not an option to do that in its settings so I found "format internal" and without even thinking selected that. Well needles to say I can no longer start it up. This tablet has no model number on it, not even in the instructions.

How to provide work instructions on tablets.
Basically, I want the user to ONLY be able to use a .pdf reader app on a tablet to view instruction manuals. That's it...no other apps will work.
Is it possible to disable ALL other apps that are installed on a tablet?
I have never even heard of the make and no software comes with the device. It's a so called "Asteroid" tablet which will not get past the boot screen! it just gets stuck on the android logo with the dots going up and down the space ship. He said it worked for one day and then it broke. It does look very similar to the generic ones being sold on other websites and are just called "7 Inch Android 2.2OS Tablet with WiFi and Camera".
