Should I pursue it, or will it brick my phone? If I don't do this, I'll likely hard reset my phone. I've been having a few hicups lately. Nothing to write home about, but still annoying. Aug 14, 2010I manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.

Apr 25, 2012I've had an HTC Inspire for about 8 months now, with very little problems except the occasional frustrating frozen screen or two. A few months ago, I noticed that my "volume down" button wasn't working, so I would just manually change the volume through my settings. It wasn't a big deal, just irritating.
Last night, my phone was working just fine. I even remember waking up in the middle of the night and answering my texts.
This morning, I noticed it was turned off, so I attempted to turn it on, and it wouldn't work. Thinking it was dead, I plugged it in, got the "charging" screen, and attempted to turn it on again.
I got sent to the hboot screen. Unfortunately, it is not responding to the buttons being pressed. I've never rooted my phone, so I'm pretty sure this is all due to my volume down being stuck (and therefore hard resetting when I press "power.")
Is this fixable to the extreme novice (which I'm assuming it isn't)? Or, if as an AT&T customer, will they give me a replacement, or is this beyond their realm? I know when I lost my battery cover once, they wouldn't give me a new one and said I had to go to HTC.

Apr 29, 2013I have an HTC Inspire with Android 2.3.5. Last night my stock browser kept crashing on two particular Wikipedia pages. I cleared the cache and even went to Menu > Settings > Apps and cleared data for the browser (which also erased my bookmarks). It still crashed on those pages. Wouldn't you be surprised if you kept crashing on ordinary Wikipedia pages? No other pages crashed.
(1) I've read that anti-malware programs for Android are not very good - someone tested them and the free ones found only 10% of malware they should have found. Paid ones were slightly better. Are there any malware scanner apps that are good? I prefer ones that aren't always running.
(2) Are you supposed to update the stock browser? If so, how do you do it? It might be automatic.
(3) Do you think I should upgrade to a newer Android? When I went from 2.3.3. to 2.3.5, it took a long time and I didn't like some of the changes.
I can't get Chrome because you have to have Android 4.0 or later.Does your stock browser often crash for no apparent reason? I've had this phone for a year. Before, it only crashed on pages I rarely visited and were heavy in effects.

May 27, 2012I just rooted my inspire last night and everything went good then i started messing with an app called "andriod overclock" I went to extras then i dont remeber exactly what I clicked but i dragged it all the way to the left..i rebooted the device because it said it was required. now when I try to open an app i get an error saying something like force close? my phone is also like 10 times slower. i can still open some apps but most wont. if i open the settings it closes after about 5 seconds.

But if someone calls me the phone comes out of its "locked up / sleep state". I was curious as to why it does this.
