I am trying to free up space because I'm having problems updating apps because not enough disk space. I tried to get rid of Polaris Viewer which I never use and tried to drag it to the waste bin but it stuck on the bottom taskbar and I don't know how to remove it.

I don't know how ti got there but I don't want it there. How do I get rid of it? I thought maybe it thought there was a bluetooth ear thing attached, but I have bluetooth off.

I accidentally dragged my phone icon from the toolbar on the bottom (where the phone, message, apps & contacts are) to the screen where my other apps are. I go to my apps screen and see it there, go to edit, move it back down and save it. Then when I navigate through my phone a few times it moves itself back where my apps are?? How can I get it to stay on the bottom toolbar where it is supposed to be and stop disappearing and moving back into my apps screen?

I have been messing around with the SystemUI.apk, but I feel like it's more likely the GoogleHome launcher (which seems to just put some tweaks onto the stock launcher) or even the Launcher2.apk that is formatting the wallpaper like this. I am just staring to mess with coding, so I'm not sure where the formatting is happening.
I REALLY want to use the Google Home launcher and not just switch to a third party launcher like Nova. Nova launcher does get the wallpaper full screen with transparent nav bar, but it does not have the features that the Google Home launcher has.

My phone is rooted with CM and terminal editor. Although I've not well versed in terminal editor I can follow instructions, like adding read/write to the system folder so I could delete system apps.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Lenovo a60 phone. It has dual SIM support. However i rarely keep the second SIM card activated which results in a no-signal icon beside the 1st SIM signal icon. Anyway i can remove the NO SIGNAL icon ONLY? I still want the signal strength of the second SIM to appear when SIM 2 is activated but i don't want the icon when SIM 2 is deactivated.
I believe it lies somewhere in the SystemUI.apk since that's how i removed the Vibration Indicator icon.

For example the latest LauncherPro have the option for removing/hiding the home icon on the app drawer, I pretty much want to do the same basically on the default Gingerbread Launcher.

Cool tablet but coming from Blackberry Playbook (still own it) it just kills me that the taskbar (i think this is how it is called) is always visible whether watching a movie or playing a game. Today I accidentally removed one of the short keys from the home screen and I'm not able to get it back to it's place. To be more exact, it is the messaging short key which is located on the bottom bar of the screen. The other ones (Phone, Contacts & Applications) are still the, but when I'm trying to return the messaging icon back to the bottom bar, I always end up with the trash can over the area where I'm supposed to place the icon.What can I do, How do I get the icon back on the home screen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can see in the link below there is an extra padding (around 2mm) below the EditText field. I can't seem to remove this padding in anyway. This occurs with other widgets as well (like Buttons). It looks like Android is default adding this extra padding to all elements.

I've just got my HTC Desire HD phone and have spent some time setting it up and personalizing homescreens, etc.
But now that I've done that I'd like to remove the 'personalize' button from the Sense bar at the bottom of the screen.
Is this possible? I have little use for it now and would rather it was an Internet button or something similar.
I'm building a tab activity and but I don't want the tab text to appear bellow the icon. Is there any XML property to define this behavior? On the other hand, how can I place tabs in the bottom of the screen instead of the top?

Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.

when I tap the contacts icon on the bottom of the screen, my contacts are not there, only my own name. I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.
