I have an AT&T Atrix 4G and I wanted to imstall CM7.2.
I had the latest Atrix Android version on it. Then I followed the instruction at the cyanogemod wiki for the atrix. So I flashed the sbf (cyanodenmod wiki -> Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide).
The rsd lite flashing didn't succeed because the atrix rebooted and the programm couldn't switch into BP passtrougth, or so. At this point the device said something about 0x1000 no bootloader, but I could choose between rsd, fastboot and the other possibilities.
I booted into the fastboot mode and did an oem unlock. Now it says unlocked.
I booted again into the fastboot mode, and now it should be a simple
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recover.img
But:
Windows) it always says:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (4824 KB)... OKAY [ 0.453s]
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
after that the device reboots and is in a boot loop
so i tried linux) The first time i tried the command everythings worked fine, but after reboot i chose.
Code:
android recovery mode, but after a while (secs) the device rebooted.
so went to fastboot again, but now the device reboots after the sending command and then it says writing failed because of no device
I don't know if when I am using rsd lite to flash a complete image the phone reboots again and i have a hard brick.
I want to make a clean hard reset of my GoClever Tab R974.2 but no matter what I do it won't load the bootloader. I tried all pssible combinations of all 3 abailable buttons (power,vol+,vol-) and all possible pressing times from a few seconds to a minute.I also tried rebooting into bootloader via the ADB but without any luck (device not recognized). My main problem with this system is that I tried to root it and it seemed like it worked, the superuser .apk was installed, however when I tried to start Titanium backup or any other prog that requires root access, it shows that there is no root access. Then I also tried z4root, but no luck either and SuperOneClick just freezes when restaring the ADB daemon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my LG Optimus L3-8C (E400) running stock rom and version 2.3.6 Gingerbread (yuck) and I followed all the instructions from this video:
in order to flash the CM9 ROM. Problem is I can NOT reboot into recovery no matter what I do it seems. When I try tp reflash the CWM recovery it tells me "successfully installed!" then when I press 'reboot into recovery" it gets stuck on the LG logo for so long I often have to hold the power button to go back to my device. I even download "recovery flasher utility" found here [URL]....but, whenever I run the app it tells me "no recovery.img" found onexternal SDCARD even though I placed it there! I tried to fastboot but whenever I run CMD it tells me " 'fastboot is not recognized."
Can i develop an app (apk) that reboot android in recovery without root? I have possibility to add to push my apk in /system/app/
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Noir A10 by Qmobile and since morning I am having this problem. I had installed JMP ROM v 8 and it was working super fast for atleast a month or so. When I got up in the morning, I saw the wait logo(that appears when I boot up the phone). I waited for a few minutes but phone was stuck there. I tried to restart but it didnt respond. I took out the battery and turned it back on. It did turn on but display resolution had a problem. I could not see whole the screen. For instance when I browse to Application drawer, I am unable to see some of the Icons. I reset the phone to factory settings and restarted but had the same problem with display. Then I tried to reboot into recovery but it simply resets the phone to factory settings instead.

I have tried a couple of applications (ROM Manager, MobileUncle MTK Tools) too but the phone is reset to factory settings each time.
I was rooted and decided to unroot for giggles. After i did I went to root again and now I am getting this: "E: cant open/cache/recovery,command " When I reboot into recovery mode.

View 9 Replies View Relatedso i just find a new way to reboot to stock recovery on samsung galaxy ace plus GT-S7500 without flashing another custom recoveru like cwm or something like that
many people say that we cant access the stock recovery on galaxy ace plus because it have some bugs or something else.. now i found the way how to do that
just follow the simple guide how to do that :
1. reboot it using volume + and volume - ~> home button ~> power button
2. click and hold both volume button then the home button then the power button..
3. if the phone gets turned on so u need to keep hold that button until the recovery showed up (when it showed up and its get turned off again so u need to hold all the button again until it get rebooted to recovery)
4.if u get rebooted all time its not a big problem again .. all u need is just hold all that button until the phone gets turned on and release the power off button and hold it again until u boot it on recovery mode.. and done u booted up on recovery mode (im not responsible if ur phone gets bootloop or something else)
How i can directly reboot into recovery and flash a .zip file via script for terminal emulator?
I think you know the ROMManager, you can download updates there, it automatically reboots into recovery and flashes without asking the .zip file, how can i realize that via script for the terminal emulator? cuz i want to create a updater for my and my friends roms
Ok, I just bought an HTC Acquire with Android Version 2.3.4 HTC Sense 3.0 Software number 1.26.557.9 Kernel 2.6.35.10
When I reboot it into recovery mode it says:
***Locked***
Kingdom PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.22.0000
RADIO-1.11.00.0903
eMMC-boot
Aug 8 2011
I have tried to root this phone using Gingerbreak, Revolutionary, Z4root, and a few others. When I search on Google or the XDA website I can't find absolutely anything about an HTC Acquire. It's like the internet thinks the phone doesn't exist? I recently upgraded to it from my HTC Desire CDMA Bravo-c that I had rooted, flashed a custom rom, custom kernel, custom radio, the works.
I'm attempting to root my phone using a windows xp machine... I installed the drivers as needed, set up the phone as required and started unrevoked 3. I selected the hboot usb as required by the process, and unrevoked ran until the point that the phone reboots to the clockworkmod recovery screen. Now, Unrevoked still says "Rebooting into recovery," and my phone is sitting on the screen with the following options:
-reboot system now
-apply sdcard:update.zip
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-nandroid
-partitions menu
-advanced
-+++++Go Back+++++
It's like unrevoked doesn't detect that the phone has rebooted into recovery. I watched videos of the phone being rooted, and mine followed all the right steps... at this point in the video, once it gets to this screen, some text pop up, like it's running a script or something, and then the root is complete.
since it hung on this screen, I don't know where to proceed from here.
running Skyraider Sense 3.2 RC3 ... wanted to go back to my stock nandroid backup so I went to boot into Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager ... it restarted, went to the splash screen ... then just hung up there for a while. Battery pulled, then booted into HBOOT and tried opening recovery from there. Still hangs at the splash screen. Ended up flashing an older version of CW Recovery and that seems to be working fine. Just thought this was odd and was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.
I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:
Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)
ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
I took unrooted my phone today because I was going to excange it for a new one because of a loose headphone jack but it turns out it was my headphones. I used SMupdater and it went fine. now when I try ot root again I get a "can't open cache/recovery/command" error in recovery and it wont let me select any of the options by hitting the camera button. idk what to do
View 2 Replies View RelatedTried customizing a ROM the other day using dsixda's kitchen utility and after I built the ROM and signed it, I tried flashing. It would open the zip file no problem but after a few seconds while hanging on the installing update, it says error flashing update and there's a line stating "(status 0)". My guess is that I have done something wrong when customizing the ROM.
I have a Nexus S with CWM 5.0.2.3.
I was rooted my SGS i9000(XXJVS) with SuperOneClick 2.3.3 and successfully rooted my phone, but superuser did not been installed, so I installed from Android Market. Then I downloaded ROM manager, and selected "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". It has been downloaded, allowed superuser permissions, and ROM Manager wrote that it has been downloaded. But if I reboot into recovery mode, I get a message that writes:
Verifying update package... (meanwhile a bar fills up to about 15%)
E:failed to verify whole-filesignature
E:signature verification failed Installation aborted.
And I got a normal recovery mode. What should I do to install CWM? I only clicked "Root" button in SuperOneClick 2.3.3 and I didn't do any wipe data.
My rooted Evo keeps hanging up after I try to reboot into recovery. When I rooted my Evo I had used a bat file from my desktop to get into recovery after original root. My question is will I have to run this file again from my desktop with my Evo connected to get into recovery mode again to flash fresh Rom. Will there be any issues with running this recovery file again. Or Am I missing a step to get into recovery. Power off hold volume down while power on volume scroll down to recovery press power button.

Now I'm trying to install Fresh 3.2.00 from
[ROM] 9/3/10 | Fresh Evo 3.2.0.0 | New OTA Base + New Stagefright + New HTC Kernel - xda-developers
I have ROM Manager installed and Flash ClockworkMod Recovery done. I already put the fresh-evo-3.2.0.0.zip into the SD card. Tried Installing ROM from SD card, checking Backup Existing ROM and Wipe Data and Cache and it asks me to reboot into recovery. Here's the problem, it restarts and just stays on the white screen with the htc EVO 4G logo.
I rooted awhile back and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I do seem to have one issue that I haven't been able to find an answer to anywhere. (it's not stopping me from doing anything, just annoying)
When I use a tool such as rom manager and reboot into recovery my sdcard can never mount (or isn't mounted) and after a dozen or so attempts the phone reboots (which I then press X on the keyboard to get back into recovery - clockworkmod). So if I go into the partitions menu option and then mount the sdcard, I can then do zip installs from the card.
But nothing I've tried will allow me to reboot into recovery from an application in the phone since apparently my sd card isn't mounted or can't be mounted without manual intervention.
Do you think there might be an issue with my sdcard? I'm pretty sure that I used to be able to do this, but recently it stopped working.
I just clicked flash clockworkmod recovery again and it decided to work this time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was running Virtuous 2.6 and I decided to run some tests with task killers/force closing apps, etc and wanted to get back to the stock 2.1. I downgraded to 2.1 just fine, installed the May OTA update, and went to install 2.2 with the PB31IMG.zip file. Instead of the bootloader giving me the option to update, it simply says 'parsing' for about 2 seconds and then goes back to the HBoot menu.
Now when I reboot the phone, it will only boot into recovery and nothing else. I put the 2.1 downgrade back on to the sdcard and tried updating again and it just says 'parsing' and doesn't work.
