View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Atrix and I'm wondering are there any apps/Widgets that will show frequency of a core (doesn't have to show both as my second core is usually offline) in real time and that wont just stop functioning after an Hour or so.

I've just got a few questions in regards to dual booting roms on my device (Gs2 i777 running Dream Kernel 2.7.4.) So yes, Anyway, I'm looking to dual boot roms. As of now, I have the CM10 nightly build as my daily driver, which is nice. I've got Jelly Bean running as well. But when I boot to recovery, I no longer have the Dream Kernel boot up screen, which provides the option to dual boot, which is what I'm looking to do.
Do I need to get off CM10, go back to my back up, and then set up the dual boot from there? Or can I set up my dual boot on the CM10 mod?
Is there any app like boot manager that can do so? As far as I know, boot manager supports nexus one, but not Nexus S.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmost of the last Chinese Android Dual SIM Phones have the ability to record phone calls on both lines. It is usually necessary during the call, press the soft key "menu" and choose to start recording.
The file - usually in .amr - is saved on the SD, in a path that is not modifiable and with a name that generally only contain the time and date of registration, but not the called number.Understand very well that with these assumptions, this function is practically useless. The problem is that with these telephones is almost impossible to find a third-party software able to operate automatically and well on both lines.

Got an android phone used for develeopment/modifications over wifi, but am confused as to how the previous owners phone number still shows up in the Settings > About Phone > Status dialogue.
With no SIM card, completely wiping everything, how does it still show up on new roms?
So I am new into the world of playing with phones. I come from the computer realm as an engineer for the past 10years or so. So far I have not tried to root or anything but I fully intend to give it a try in the very near future. Anyways the reason behind this post is I am interested in the possibility to dual boot my device. i.e. I want to keep the stock build of 2.1 with sense but I want to be able to still play around with a 2.1 or even 2.2 (hopefully) ROM without losing my stock setup. Is this even possible? I hear a lot of people also saying they switch between ROMs often. Can you do that without losing all of the data that you have loaded on the phone already? If that is the case then switching back and forth between stock and a new ROM takes out the need for the dual boot requirement.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up multiple Android development environments on single Linux Debian machine. Everything works fine for one user. But whenever second user on the same machine tries to launch Eclipse (with ADT) there is an error displayed, that 8700 port is being used. Therefore, the second user is unable to debug. I have researched this issue myself and tried following solutions, but I am yet unsuccessful: 1) I have changed the DDMS port in Eclipse, for the second user to 8740 (Window -> Preferences -> Android -> DDMS -> Base local debugger port). No use: Eclipse still opens 8700 port for listening (showed by netstat and strace). 2) I have run the DDMS before running Eclipse, changed the port in it to be 8740 (File -> Preferences -> Debugger -> Port of selected VM). Not handy to have DDMS running outside Eclipse, Eclipse still opens 8700 port for listening. 3) Tried looking in the source code of ADT, found the reference where the 8700 port is passed and opened, it looks ok though and leaves me without a clue. 4) I have found several similar threads, but none of them helped my case (piled below for reference): 4.1) http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/threa...

Because there is a new project that wants me to porting android to cdma phones, before that, we have made the gsm version as a product, but I am not sure that if GOOGLE has updated a different version suitable for CDMA? If it has, I have to update my code...especially the RIL module..
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to access the USB port on Android phones? (Droid X for example)
Here is my usage case:
Have a USB device attached to the Android phone. The phone listens for data on this USB device. (The USB device is connected to a USB->RS-232 converter that has I/O attached to it)
This would be slick if possible. Does anyone know if this is possible?
My desire is currently an orange branded handset.I'm going to be rooting fairly soon, but want to make sure on something first.Several people have said they have rooted orange branded handsets and installed custom Roms. Is there any way to know if a Rom will work before trying it?Plus how do you know that the Rom and radio version will not simlock the phone or knacker the WiFi?Do I just have to read the instructions very carefully on each Rom? Or is there another way?
