Can I do with my keyboard application pretty much anything I could do with a normal Android application?
Can I do HTTP connections to synchronize keyboard data with a cloud DB and other phones I have?
Can I open other windows/screens from a key press, e.g. to display a custom input interface different to a normal QWERTY one. If that doesn't work, can I use a pop-up dialog instead?
Because there is a new project that wants me to porting android to cdma phones, before that, we have made the gsm version as a product, but I am not sure that if GOOGLE has updated a different version suitable for CDMA? If it has, I have to update my code...especially the RIL module..

Here is my usage case:
Have a USB device attached to the Android phone. The phone listens for data on this USB device. (The USB device is connected to a USB->RS-232 converter that has I/O attached to it)
This would be slick if possible. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I tried out the Samsung Vibrant a couple minutes ago, its quick neat and the screen is gorgeous. What im really liking is the keyboard. Id like to know if there is anyway to port that keyboard onto the DX?

I have cm7 running on my Samsung Dart. I ported this CM7 Rom from the Samsung Galaxy Mini: [URL] .....
It booted and got to the setup screen. The problem is that there are black lines in the screen and everything is cut up. I've been pressing things and everything is responding, I just can't see it. Do I need to change the filenames in system>lib>hw to match the galaxy mini's?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S) device. Now the thing is that I don't have a CM10.1 for my device, at the most I have CM10.
But its closest relative, Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120L) has CM10.1 for itself.
Now I was wondering, how can I get CM10.1 from E120L running for my device i.e. E120S.
Usb port of my Samsung infuse 4G isn't working, when connected it charges but pc doesn't recognize. I've tried with different USB cables. when camera is opened it gets stuck and shows black screen. i thought this could be a problem with ROM but i was unable to update ROM as my PC doesn't recognize it, i'm able to enter download mode using OSB jig but still odin doesn't recognize it. it has Android 2.2.1 installed on it and it has not been rooted.

View 22 Replies View RelatedBrand new SGS owner/user here on T-Mobile in the UK. I rooted the phone the other night and am aware it opens the handset up to be used for whatever.
When i connect my handset up to the cars aux port using the 3.5mm connector music, FM radio, CoPilot, all work fine.
However when someone calls me and i answer i would have thought I could hear them through the cars speakers but this is not possible.
The loudspeaker on the galaxy is not the best but that wouldn't matter if it used the Aux port in call as an output.
Am I missing something here? Is there a setting that perhaps I have overlooked or missed?
I have already searched the forums. I saw some vague answers and not were particular to the vibrant. Anyways, I was very excited I got the 32gb memory card. Now, the downside is that I still have to use the AUX input to play music. It's very inefficient to lose the concurrent charging capability by ignoring the USB output right next the the 1/8.This seems like a major negative on the part of this phone. There really has to be a way to get the head unit to communicate with a phone with such incredible technologies.Ideas guys? How can I do it?

I used to use the Samsung Keyboard with English and the Chinese language input (downloaded in it's language settings).
But after a hard rest (My phone had recently updated itself to 4.3 with no change) I no longer have Chinese as a downloadable language.
WHY is this so annoying... Becuase if I use another keyboard that has chinese I can't swap between it and the Samsung Keyboard in Keyboard. The Samsung has to be selects in the phone setting and can't be selected as one of many keyboards.
The reason why I wish to use the Samsung keyboard is becuase of its great swipe input function. I have not found another keyboard that has swipe in English and Chinese input funtionality.
Which means I can never using any combo of keyboards swap easily from chinese to swipe english keyboard.
I think It has something to do with the locale version of the 4.3 android os. I heard that different locales have different downloadable language options. But why has mine sudenly changed!
if you weren't aware, the "news and weather" widget from 2.1 has been ported to 1.5:
Nexus One Genie Widget
Anyone tried this? i installed it on my galaxy and have a problem: widget works fine (both the weather and the news/weather combo one), but when i tap it to go to the news/weather app i can only view the news pages, the weather page force-closes. if i was at home i could get the error message via logcat but i can't do that right now (will update with that later).
