I have installed Desktop Notifications and Pushbullet. Both apps require me to enable them in the Notification Mirroring Service. To do that it always takes me wifi to switch the wifi on.I don't have wifi, I have 3G. How do I enable the service without wifi?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work as a software developer and for the better part of my day I'm looking at my work screen and my phone is on silent. Because of this I miss SMS's and missed call notifications sometimes for hours. I have been looking for an app that allows me to push some, if not all, notifications raised by my phone to my desktop.
I tried growl but that requires a local web server which I cannot obviously run at work. I also do not have access to my work network from my phone because wifi is restricted. So I need a solution that sends these notifications over the web.
Is there an app or a service that can push notifications from android to my desktop?
My iPhone would tell me if I have a new SMS, Facebook notification, or message + a # indicator on the icon. anything similar for Android?
Right now I get a notification and it is available at the top if I slide down from home screen (hangouts, sms or mail) but is there anything that would enable similar to the below iPhone screen shot?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to enable the active scanning mode on my HTC Desire but still got no luck. I've forced Android and wpa supplicant to go in to active mode. I've retraced this and the forcing works but when wpa supplicant tries to set the driver in active mode it always got set in passive mode and I can't force it in to active mode.
Any way to force an android device to scan active for wifi networks? It doesn't mind if It's on another device. I'm desperate to get it to work.
And I know it's not power efficient but that's not the goal. The only goal is to scan as fast as possible. Scanning in active mode should make this possible.
I have PIPO M8 3G tablet running on Android 4.1.1, the problem is that Tethering and Portable hotspot are missing from the menu.

I moved from Galaxy S4 to Galaxy Note 2.
Everytime I take a new phone, during initial setup it gives me to restore my settings from Google which when I enable I get all my saved wifi-access points.
This time however by mistake I didn't allow Google to restore that data in my Note 2 so now I haven't got any saved WiFi passwords.
I had backup of all user and system data from S4 via titanium backup and I tried to restore WiFi access points in Note2 which wont work (maybe compatibility or something, I don't know)

Is there any way to get notifications across the top of my phone or light notification when I get email, facebook, messenger, etc. when I am using wifi and have limited 3g connection? (such as when I am at work). The messages will come thru but I don't know they are there unless I actually go into the application to check them.

Android Notifier Sends Notifications from Your Phone to Your Desktop. This is freaken awesome, too bad you cant reply to sms messages though. But still its worth having . Super easy to set up and works flawlessly, I suggest you guys give it a try.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone only displays notifications from certain apps (FB Messenger, Snapchat, Tinder, maybe a few others) when it is connected to wifi. When I am not connected to wifi, I can still use these apps and send/receive messages, but when I get home and connect to wifi again I receive all the notifications I should have gotten earlier in the day. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and BBM all deliver notifications just fine over the mobile network.

- Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
- Android version 4.2.2
- sync and mobile data are enabled
- "restrict background data" is NOT enabled for the affected apps
- connected to Koodo (Telus) network in Canada
The problem I'm experiencing is that I am not receiving push notifications of any kind while my phone is locked/sleeping (screen off) on my wifi network at work.
My home wifi network and mobile connection have no such problems, i get the notifications instantly. My wifi is set to never sleep.
I do get the notifications a couple of seconds after I unlock my phone though. Not very useful because I have to keep checking my phone.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it but my home network is WEP secured and work is WPA/WPA2 secured.
I have both my hotmail and gmail accounts set up but don't seem to get notifications of new emails. I only receive them upon going into the app itself. How do I get it so that I get a number icon or whatever over the app to show I have received emails?

The notification works, and the correct ringtone is used. However, even though the preferences are correctly activated and notification flags are correctly set (I checked by debugging), the notification never vibrates and never cause the lights to be activated. I would have blamed my phone's settings, but every other app using notifications, like messaging, gmail, and others correctly use all these features. (My phone is a HTC Hero with Android 2.1)
The facebook messenger app for my Samsung Galaxy Fame only receives notifications of messages when connected to a mobile data network, not when connected to wifi. If I swap to solely using mobile data after a conversation, I receive a string of notifications of all the messages I've just been sent in the conversation which is very frustrating.

I have notifications turned on and I do get them pushed to me when I go to other places with high-speed internet. The internet at home isn't blazing fast but isn't slow at 13 Mbps. I don't get notifications for most games and some other apps, like hangouts, where I could end up missing out on a conversation because I never got the notification. I get notifications about new emails and updates from the Play Store but that's about it. Is there something I can try or do to fix this problem and get my notifications?
