General :: API Level Differences - App Works In Level 10 But Not In Level 7?

Jul 2, 2012

I'm having trouble developing an app, while it works in API level 10, it does not in API level 7. I wondery why and I've been looking for a site that summarizes the differences, or the new features from one API level to another and cannot find it.

09-04 04:24:21.485: E/AndroidRuntime(6834): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception
09-04 04:24:21.510: E/AndroidRuntime(6834): java.lang.VerifyError: [code]....

There seems to be a problem with an uncaught exception and reflection, although....why does it work on API level 10?

How do I calibrate my GPS. For some reason on some roads it thinks I am 50 to 100 feet off the side of the road. Then some roads I am fine. It is real annoying when the navigation lady keeps telling me to turn left at the intersection of 1st and broad, 2nd and broad, etc. for every side street I pass because it thinks I am 100 feet to the left of where I actually am. I have never had this problem with any GPS I have ever used so what gives..

HTC Desire :: Not Able To Calibrate Keyboard On Phone / What To Do?

May 31, 2010

I bought my HTC Desire a few weeks ago in Korea and I have trouble with the keyboard detecting my touch properly. I tried to go calibrate the damn thing but when I go into Settings<language and keyboard the only options available are Select Local which leads to either Korean or English language and DioPen IME which leads to a bunch of options but none of which are keyboard calibrate. Is there anyway for me to calibrate the keyboard? I've tried downloading different keyboards from the market to see if they work better but when I select them in the language and keyboard folder they still don't work so I don't know what to do.

I'm having a small issue with my current phone and headphones. The problem is that headphones and phone have no problem with higher output volume. Temporary solution - speaker boost, trouble is: it causes any equalizer to FC.

How can I increase the volume at kernel level? If that's not possible then rom level would be enough. No apps, just pure source changes.

I read in some threads that there are some CSV files located at /system/etc that we can change microhpone and speaker level. but I cant find in JB.and another configuration file named asound.conf that we can specify sound level in dB , but i'm afraid that it cause high voltage , and high current subsequently and cause speaker be corrupted..

Is it possible to create a lockscreen replacement at the application level that replaces the device's security lock, whether it be PIN, passphrase, pattern or face unlock, or potentially a new method? I know it's possible in the framework level, and have done it before, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to do it at the application level.

So far the few lockscreen replacements that I've tried only implement a slide gesture unlock lockscreen UI, and falls back to the device's security lock after that.

First of all I searched and couldn't find anything on this. Is anyone else having an issue with the screen not being very accurate? The on screen keyboard seems fine for me, but choosing something such as a link in the web browser is a little off on my phone.

An example would be opening www.wsmv.com (my local news), then trying to click on news on the left hand side...instead of news, it will choose what is below it (in this case weather). I thought it was my fat fingers, but others who have tried my phone experience the same issue. I was just wondering if it was just me? Any way to calibrate the screen?

I don't know if this is possible on the X, but how do I calibrate the touch screen? I've noticed two things that are beginning to drive me crazy. The first is that it is so sensitive at times, if I pass my finger over a button without actually touching the screen, it thinks I pressed it and executes the function. Second, I noticed that the spot I touch actually is off a bit so when I try to hit a link from a list (such as a thread here) it will pick the one above it.
