My Samsung Tab just fall in the floor and now it loose the rotate functionality. After going to setting's -> horizontal calibrate. I've managed to make it rotate but only landscape.
1 - Is it possible to have only the vertical sensor broken ?
2 - Is there a way to calibrate way vertical, as the only option availabe is horizontal ?
All the level/bublle app's show's horizontal rotation but no vertical.

Sometimes I have to "press" the home icon twice to get the "buzz" and have it move the screen. However the back icon works 99% of the time on the first press. I then went back to sleep for 30 minutes, when I awoke I turned on my phone. For a few seconds it was fine but after about 30-40 seconds the line appeared with a flickering gesture, then a consistent line.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis problem happened few hours before i rooted my pad. Well the problem is a vertical green line that appeared in my screen and dont go off. I tried to use stuck pixel solutions and a factory reset (I didn't tried to put back in stock rom, I don't know how to do that).
The line is very perceptive on a pink background, but completely hide by a green background.

I am using NOVA launcher on my Galaxy S-5. I have just two home screens set in the app. I see this vertical bar with 4 sections on far right when I am on the 2nd page of the home screen. For instance i like to text message in landscape mode sometimes but when i go to my home screen and tilt my phone at all, the home screen will go to landscape which i don't like because it takes a long time to switch back and forth between portrait and landscape and seems to be overly sensitive to the axis of my phone.
Does this application exist? If not, how hard would it be to create?
My phone (Xperia mini pro) unlocks itself way too often when it's sitting in my pocket. I was using a MIUI ROM for some time and there was that cool feature that didn't allow to unlock the screen when the proximity sensor sensed something in its... proximity. I really miss it, but I don't feel like switching from CM to MIUI just for it.
I know there are lots of apps like Gravity Screen Off or Cover Algorithm, but they don't do exactly what I wan't to have (or I didn't explore them enough), as I don't want to lock/unlock my phone by the sensor or anything. just a simple thing:
0. the screen is locked and turned off
1. the home/power button is pressed
2. the app checks the proximity senor's state
2a. if something's covering the sensor (e.g. my pocket's inside), the touchscreen is disabled (and some message appears to say so)
2b. if nothing's covering the sensor, then unlocking the screen is allowed

I'm using the CM11 4.4 Kitkat on my Galaxy S4 and recently found out that my proximity sensor isn't working (when I dial the screen goes black and won't turn on until the call is over). all I want now is to disable it but there isn't such option in the Cyanogenmod. i bought a mtk6577 clone s3. My problem is sometimes i rebooted phone, after opening proximity and light sensor doesn't work. screen don't turn off in call and doesn't call the person displayed on screen when i take ear. And battery drains too much. (example: when proximity and light sensor works with %90 battery, when it doesn't work after reboot plummets to %50).Another issue is when i reboot phone, boot animation doesn't show when proximity and light sensors don't work.

Im hoping on using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi but I can get hold of basically any available tablet if that makes solving the problem easier. The custom sensor is going to be connected with the device using bluetooth. I have currently a setup with my sensor connecting nicely and sending the values into my custom Android app but it is just my app and not any app on the device. I want to take it to the next level by basically overriding some of the built in sensors with my values to enable me to play any game that is meant to be controlled by the accelerometer my custom sensor.
How to change on a system level the constant variable SENSOR_TYPE to a public variable which I then can either override or change permanently to point to my sensor function instead. As I understand this it would need a fully custom ROM. So when any game call for example
mAccelerometer = mSensorManager.getDefaultSensor(Sensor.TYPE_ACCELE ROMETER);
Sensor.TYPE_ACCELEROMETER would point to my custom function instead.
But as I said this would need a custom ROM which sounds a bit large task...
