Mar 17, 2013When playing music with the stock Music Player application on my phone and turning the phone screen off or multitasking, the music is still able to play in the background. Is it possible to do the same with the stock YouTube app? I want to let the audio of the YouTube video I am watching to keep playing when I either exit out of the app or when I press the power button on my phone to turn off the screen to save battery. Although I can just set my phone screen to not go off when idle for a certain amount of time, but then again, that is battery consuming.
Phone information:
-Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G from T-Mobile
-Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4
-Rooted
-No Custom Rom Installed

Also a life stream from a website stops (Studio Brussel)I have a Medion Lifetab wit Android 3.2 on board.
General :: WiFi Stops Working After 3 Minutes?
Nov 27, 2012Since a few month my WiFi does not work properly. When I activate it, it automatically connects to the access point. But after 3 minutes, the connection stops working. The WiFi symbol in the status bar disappears and 3g starts working. When i disable and reenable wifi everything works fine again for 3 minutes. I already tried a static IP. Other devices (laptop) have no problems with the same network.

Feb 8, 2014I'm using a rom made by PecanCM. It's on 4.4.2 that could be found here.
I noticed that when I listen to music on my headphones and whenever I go into my homescreen, the music player would pause and not play the song anymore. I've tried 2 music applications (Apollo and Shuttle +) and it kept on doing the same thing on both apps. I've tried resetting the phone but the problem still persists.
I've searched and found out that a lot of people have similar issues and all they had to do was upgrade their music app. I've tried it with shuttle + but it didn't really work.

I use walkman for music(best looking and best sound), but since the last firmware update(new walkman version),music stops playing whenever I swipe away the walkman from recent apps! Is there any way to prevent it... maybe prevent walkman from showing in recent apps or any other method....

Mar 15, 2012I've had this problem ever since installed then uninstalled avast and the antitheft bit that sometimes youtube won't play videos.The app shows the videos available and I can search but when you click to play all you get is the spinning circle.
It doesn't happen often and a restart of phone always fixed it before but now that's not working.Cleared cache etc but nothings working. What can cause this and how to sort it?
Its a stock rooted gb rom and only happened when avasts hidden app didn't uninstall after getting superuser rights and I had to freeze the hidden app then uninstall it with titanium backup. It did say (avast) something about doing something to nand.
General :: YouTube And Facebook Not Playing Nice
Sep 15, 2013Ever since the most recent YouTube update (5.0.21), any time I try to open a link to a video (might be all FLV videos) in Facebook Chat, whether it's the actual Facebook app or Messenger, it doesn't work.
It tries to open in Gallery, and gives me a "Can't play this video" error.I've tried different ROMs, different kernels, etc... with the same results.

May 3, 2010For those of you using Pandora have you experienced an issue that after two to three songs Pandora just stops playing as long as your phone is stationary. If you have a phone and use Pandora can you do a test that you turn up Pandora put it down on the table and let it play for at least three songs and let me know if you have an issue. Now it needs to be on the network and not WIFI and the phone MUST be stationary.

Aug 1, 2010When I am listening to the music app, or btunes, or mix zing; about one in four times I turn the screen off, the music stops playing. I've tried turning of my task killer, but to no avail. At first, I had a second issue as well: the music would play for only about 15 mins then stop, however, I managed to figure out that that was the 'Data-Off' timer I had set for the battery's 'Smart Mode' (though I'm not sure what data has to do with playing music stored locally). Nevertheless, swapping to 'Performance Mode' solved that. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why a quarter of the time I turn the screen off, it kills the music.

Jul 16, 2010This doesn't always happen but when it does, Slacker stops playing after every 2 or so songs. I get a message box that reads "Warning! Unable to find active data or WiFi connection. Would you like to quit the application?" and gives me Yes or No options. Clicking No returns me to the Stations list where selecting any station returns me to the one previously playing and starts the next song when I hit Play.

My player stop after roughly 1-2 minutes, and there are no log messages except for "I/AudioHardwareQSD( 52): AudioHardware pcm playback is going to standby" just after the playback stops.
This happens when I run it on the Nexus One over 3G. It does not happen over Wifi, and it does not happen on my HTC Hero with android 1.5 over 3G.
Do you guys have any hints on how to debug this? Is it e.g. possible to monitor the memory available to the media player object?

Aug 22, 2010If I am listening to music on the stock HTC player, and at the same time am running navigation, the voice prompts in navigation are causing the music to stop playing. Usually the music would fade back in after the voice prompt, but the music is completely stopping and has to be restarted manually. Not fun on an 8 hour drive...

Android :: Slacker Radio Stops Playing After Screen Lock
Nov 20, 2009I know other Hero users are having the same problem, and so far Slacker support has not fixed. One the screen sleeps it will finish the current song but not play a next song until you unlock the screen. I even have an app that keeps the screen from locking but allows it to go black and that causes the same issue. Anyone have a suggestion? This makes it where I can only use Slacker with the screen on which make the app almost worthless.

Aug 12, 2010Just got the phone and loving it so far but im having major issue's with You Tube, Most video's take about 5 mins to load in low quality and in high quality it can take upto 30 mins or more which of course by that time the phone locks and the video has to restart again.
Any suggestions as to why it takes so long? Also is there a setting for video's to automatically start in high quality? And for the phone not to lock?

Feb 7, 2009Most of the time when I click on a link to a YouTube clip it takes me to the YouTube web page where it tells me I need to have flash installed. I'm pretty sure once I clicked a link and it gave me the option to open it in a browser or the YouTube app, but now I'm no longer getting that option. Is there a way to make YouTube videos open in the app everytime?
