I recently flashed kingcobra ics 1.5 in my htc EVO 3d gsm
My Signal is gray and i dunno why. Its Not saying Not avaiable or so, it detects my Provider and it has 4 bars but its gray
It turns blue as soon as i turn on WiFi and connect to the Internet.
Im also not able to use Mobile data due this problem...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI moved from Shanghai to an apartment building in Chicago. Internet is included in my new building--just need to provide your own router. I have a Netgear N600 router from a few years ago that I plugged in, and everything fired up properly and looked great. But I noticed that my wifi bars remained gray with no Google Services sync. I have a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 4, both rooted and running CM 10.1.2. The only mod I have on either is LTE enabled on the N4.
I did a factory reset and went through the setup wizard again. I also checked for a firmware update, but there wasn't one available. The reset didn't solve the problem. If I flip my WiFi off on the N4, I immediately connect to T-Mobile 4G data, and all of my Google Services sync. When I turn wifi back on, I reconnect to my router, and my Google Services sync stops. I can force a per-app sync by going into Gmail, Google Voice, etc., but there is no background sync.
I just got to my parents house and there is now a little flashing blue house icon above the signal lines. What does this mean???

It wont show me the wifi bars but only a grey indicator that shows that its up and down loading stuff. Its build of official cm9 sources so others might have had and fixed it?
I have an issue with my i9001:
I installed CM9 (2 RCs) for a while but it was still buggy for me. Then I decided to go back to GB. Since I went back the wifi switches off immediately after switching it on. I switch it on. It starts scanning and it switches off again. The device does not connect to a wifi AP.
Currently it is running GIGABREAD+, but it did exactly the same with the original stock ROM which I saved on the SD card and installed again.
If I do a WiFi driver test (*#*#526#*#*) it states that the wireless driver loaded successful.
After reading a great post in the forum I setup my HTC Inspire 4G phone to teather...it works great! I followed the same steps on my fiancee's Inspire 4G and it didn't work so well. When I click the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot box in Settings > Wireless & Networks it turns on the Wi-Fi...and it is detectable by other devices...but then it immediately and automatically turns off.
We have the same phone purchased on the same day and I used the same Access Point Name settings as detailed in the excellent Android Forum thread. I even deleted and re-created the Access Point to make sure I didn't mistype anything but the same Portable Wi-Fi turns on then immediately turns off problem exists.
Mobile phone. I bought it year and a half ago, and have changed operating systems few times (custom roms). Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?
I am switching my phone from Droid X to something new one (probably Droid Charge..) soon.After I switched, my old Droid can be used for checking email or surfing web within Wifi area? Since my Droid will soon end its contract, I want to give it to my friend who just wants to have it as a web checking device.

Example I am at work and I will be connected to a hot spot on one side of the building, I go over to the other side of the building and the signal strength is weak and there is a new hot spot next to me that is extremely strong but the phone stays connected to the weak signal until I go and switch it manually to the new hot spot.

Phone when has 3G or GSM/GPRS signal, this signal get lost(I can not receive/accept calls_phone needs reboot to find signal) when wifi get activated/deactivated... well?
In my house, my signal is crap...I even miss texts....I'll have a "4G" icon one minute, and absolutely nothing the next..on the phone plugged into the charger, sitting in the exact same place.Same thing even happens outside...I've called Verizon, and all they want to do is sell me the repeater thing...
I've found a few articles about this subject on the web, but they seem to be dated...I'd REALLY like the phone to automatically to switch to WIFI calling/receiving, when I hit my home network.But if I have to switch it myself....
I am virtually unable to get a wifi signal in my house on my droid x unless I am a few feet away from my router. None of my other wifi devices in my house are having this issue. When I check my wireless settings on my dx it says the signal strength is poor. I'm running rooted GB 4.5.602. Does the baseband have to do anything with this (BP_C_01.09.13P)?

Even if i try to apply different themes those icons wont change. And another problem is Phone Coverage Signal weak or lost, another phone can receive 50% or full coverage signal.

It will continually do this over and over again until finally saying "error." Not really sure why or how to fix this, but it is pretty annoying that I can't use my wifi.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the Galaxy grand I9082 Duos. I have a simple problem in WIFI signal strength, on this device signal strength showing very weak for a distance of 3 to 4 meets away from the wifi router in the next room. But Laptop shows good strength at same point.
If I take my mobile close to router shows very good strength.
I got the samsung captivate for AT&T a couple of weeks ago and have run into a few problems with it:
1) Wifi worked great for a while, but now it says unable to scan for networks and turns the wifi off...this wouldn't be too bad if I had a big data plan but I do not.
2) Battery Life...fml
3) I cannot find ANYWHERE any supporting software to sync media files with my PC
4) The drivers will not install on my computer
5) Way too many apps are using data without me even opening them (navigation, yahoo mail etc...) I have AdvAppKiller but that gets old
It is wonderful having such a wonderful, fast device with 16 gb of memory, but these shortcomings are making me realize why I enjoyed a flip phone for so long.
Anyone know if there's an app that can enable wifi when charging and disable when removing from the charger?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed today that when i use the default GPS widget, the gps will turn off and take network location and wifi location with it, however turning it on with the widget does not restore those options. Is there a better widget to use, if that's how it works? I didn't notice this in 2.1. Those seemed to be on all the time.

By default the wi-fi setting is set to go to sleep (and use cellular data instead) when the screen is off, which will most likely happen while you are streaming music as well as other things. To change it so the wi-fi never turns off, to into the phone's menu -> wireless and network -> wi-fi settings -> tap the menu button and select advanced which has an option for wi-fi sleep policy that had been defaulted to sleep "when screen turns off". There you have the option to change it to "never" or "never when plugged in".

Because I get to edit files, but I am looking for a long time without finding how to put ALL the icons on the left, and keep only the icons on the right as in the picture.
Tonight I was taking videos and a couple of pictures with my droid mini. I was also switching to the gallery to view what I was taking and everything was there. In the middle of the last video, the screen freezes and I had to power down because my phone was just frozen. When I powered back up, I saw just 5 gray squares where those last 5 pieces of media should have been. They were saved and viewable before this happened!! How can I open or get them back! I've read a few threads, but all the back up methods do not work. My phone is not rooted. I uploaded all my files into my computer, and they are simply not there. It's not a huge giant issue, because everything else remained as it was, but these were videos of me playing with my kid. They didn't even get backed up onto google plus yet. I did shoot a test video right after my phone came back on...and the gray squares are still there.
