General :: Installing ROM On MTK6575?
Apr 18, 2013I'm new to flashing and installing ROM on android phones. I enabled root in this phone. I wanted to install JellyBean 4.2.2. After a long search on the internet and a lot of trying I decided to open a thread here. My phone is Star N800 MTK6575 with Android 4.0.4. When I tried to install ROM through recovery mode it showed me this: "Failed to verify whole-file signature"
I tried to install ClockWorkMode Recovery without success SP flash tool and Odin also disappointed me..
When I plug in my phone in the usb, when it's turn off and without the battery, I see it in the Device Manager appearing and then disconnecting. I tried to change the Power Settings but it didn't work.

May 20, 2013i have an MTK6575 phone that seems to be unrootable.
the phone is a samsung galixy s3 clone from china it is made by the company ALPS and is using an s880 board with an MTK6575 chip running android version 4.3.0 version name such a ics or jb is unknown.

ok so far on this phone i have tried
- superoneclick
- oneclickroot
- MTKtools
- baidu.com root tool
- CWM Recovery
- Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry
notes to remember is that using superoneclick it dose say the phone is all ready rooted ! but i have installed super user and it has no effect and there are no root permissions on the phone.
wen using the recovery update.zip options i get the following error ( invalid OTA package ) this phone is using the stock 3E recovery.

The thing is: The UMTS (3g) network don't work. It only connects through Edge network.
-I've tried to restore IMEI - nothing happens...
-I've used the MobileUncle tools to see the bandmode, but it shows only the 2g network (the umts mode is grey, and I can't set it up...)
My first theory was that the firmware doesn't support the 3g network, but, since I couldn't find a best firmware, that theory was... stuck.
My second theory was that this SoC (MTK6575) doesn't have 3g access but after some research i saw a lot of people tha have the same SoC and connects to this network, so...

I could use the full rom to load on clone s3 I9320 with MTK6575 (N9300) .... the components disassembled looks identical to the model we are talking about here on the forum N9300 + MTK6577 ... but obviously this fits different processor that is MTK6575 fact I did a test with the rom of 'N9300 + but does not go .. because of course the file marked scatter of N9300 MTK6577 + ...... detects when loading as MTK6575 and does not go forward .... so I need the original full 's I9320 N9300 MTK6575 ...

Currently my Tablet behave strangely where when I switched it ON, it did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
I did a backup user data. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
Then I try another approach. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Connect the USB cable to computer. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal with no unlock slider where it did show a USB enable menu. Press back and it did run as normal. Then I disable the "slide the unlock slider" in setting. Everything work as per normal. Try restart and no problem.
Then I restore previous user data, unfortunately I cannot disable the unlock slider. Try Connect the USB cable to computer, the slider still there.
I'm looking for a way of disabling the unlock slider via ADB command.
Another way I can think of is sideload "Screen lock suppressor" apk into system.[URL]...
Now I forget how to push the apk into system. Or, any other apk to disable the unlock slider.

Aug 19, 2012getting Device Manager working on my new Galaxy S5. If I recall, Device Manager looks at GPS position first. If that is turned off, it rolls to WiFi. If that is off, it rolls to Cell communications. It worked well on my old Galaxy S2, even when GPS was off, it still found the phone within a certain range.
With my Galaxy S5, it doesn't seem to work when GPS is turned of. WiFi or Cell signal will not allow device manager to find the phone.

One thing i seem to be having a problem with is the pop up notifications. what i would like is to have the phone wake up and show the email notifications on the lockscreen like the iphone does. I have notifications turned on for both gmail and the email app as well as facebook but the only time this works is with the messages.

May 1, 2013I own a Chevy Camaro SS 2012 that has Bluetooth handsfree built in. Works like a charm with my friends LG phone with Android, as well as with my company iPhone 4S.
But with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus running native Android 4.2.2 it will pair just fine, but I am only able to hear the sound and use the mic in the car, but not engage any functions nor access the contacts list. So I cannot answer calls, or make new ones etc...
The problem is not in the car as it works fine with other phones, and I've tried to reset everything on both the phone and in the car and then re-pair them, without any success. Nobody on the Camaro forums knows how to proceed.

The Google now works as far as voice recognition and asking questions, however cards are not displayed and at the bottom of the Google now screen I do not have a area that is supposed to have "more Google cards" button. I have activated everything I can think of and cards still do not display. I even allowed google to save web searches on my account ( its active). It also said to tap in the Google now window go to settings and then "Google now" to turn on or off....well I do not have a "Google now" option....strange! I am on 4.1 Jelly Bean ( did not root ) its standard upgrade.

I want to test if my 3g is actually working or not. I used to use the 3G internet on the phone until I changed plan without mobile internet and now I've changed back. The problem is there is no 3G connection now.
I've been onto my network's forums and followed their instructions for setting up APN's etc. and the settings are perfect (even though I never changed them since the last time it worked) So my question is that is there some way to test if your 3G hardware is actually functioning?

Dec 15, 2012I'm running a new galaxy s2 and am running into a major problem with the playlists I'm creating. After I create a new playlist and spend time putting songs in them they work for a while untill, usually overnight when I try and play them again the song stays at 0 seconds and will not play. I havent found any other forums addressing this problem and I'm going crazy trying to fix it especially since in my trouble shooting i cant seem to find one thing that makes it happen. Its not certain songs or certain playlist. The songs work fine untill for some reason they wont play anymore. My phone recongnizes them and the same song will play if I play it through the normal route (Atrists or albums) but when i play it from a playlist it wont play. Also i am running this music from an sd card and this is a new problem and it happens with all the music players i try. I was on winamp and then i moved to player pro because i thought the problem was with winamp but its happening with player pro to.

Sep 26, 2013im having a problem with my samsung galaxy s advance. Few weeks ago i spilled some pepsi over my phone. I dried it and everything was working fine. 3 days ago, my speaker stopped working. I reflashed my firmware and it worked for about 5 seconds and then it made cracking sound and would not work. I noticed that, if i suck air from the speaker with my mouth(sometimes i can just put my mouth over it) it would work for 5-30 seconds. But as soon as i remove my mouth it stops working.
