View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to flashing and installing ROM on android phones. I enabled root in this phone. I wanted to install JellyBean 4.2.2. After a long search on the internet and a lot of trying I decided to open a thread here. My phone is Star N800 MTK6575 with Android 4.0.4. When I tried to install ROM through recovery mode it showed me this: "Failed to verify whole-file signature"
I tried to install ClockWorkMode Recovery without success SP flash tool and Odin also disappointed me..
When I plug in my phone in the usb, when it's turn off and without the battery, I see it in the Device Manager appearing and then disconnecting. I tried to change the Power Settings but it didn't work.
i have an MTK6575 phone that seems to be unrootable.
the phone is a samsung galixy s3 clone from china it is made by the company ALPS and is using an s880 board with an MTK6575 chip running android version 4.3.0 version name such a ics or jb is unknown.
you can find a full detailed report on the phone here : my s3 close detailes
ok so far on this phone i have tried
- superoneclick
- oneclickroot
- MTKtools
- baidu.com root tool
- CWM Recovery
- Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry
notes to remember is that using superoneclick it dose say the phone is all ready rooted ! but i have installed super user and it has no effect and there are no root permissions on the phone.
wen using the recovery update.zip options i get the following error ( invalid OTA package ) this phone is using the stock 3E recovery.
I've bought a phone tha is a poor S4 clone. MTK Root and Tools recognized it like this:
Hardware : MT6575 (MT6517 is Fake!)
Model : GT-I9505
Build number : Android ICS

The thing is: The UMTS (3g) network don't work. It only connects through Edge network.
-I've tried to restore IMEI - nothing happens...
-I've used the MobileUncle tools to see the bandmode, but it shows only the 2g network (the umts mode is grey, and I can't set it up...)
My first theory was that the firmware doesn't support the 3g network, but, since I couldn't find a best firmware, that theory was... stuck.
My second theory was that this SoC (MTK6575) doesn't have 3g access but after some research i saw a lot of people tha have the same SoC and connects to this network, so...
the GPS not working in my phone : Galaxy S3 , MTK6575

After rooting with kingoapp in my gionee pioneer p1. I found this on system file ->advanced_meta_init.rc and opened as text and get some interesting infos which i dont really understand .. Is the phone supports tv out?
# change MTKFB permission for Settings App JNI functions to set TVOut related status
chmod 0666 /dev/graphics/fb0
#TV-out
chmod 0664 /dev/TV-out
I add photo attachment. I found this hidden settings by installing holo launcher and selecting activity.. Is there a way to enable it?..
I have a x26i mtk6575.
-rooted
-4.0.3 ICS
-mtk6575
I wana keep this updated so others who have a mtk6575 can read this and install Cyanogen Mod.
I did a search on the site but unfortunately I have not been able to find it .... I could use the full rom to load on clone s3 I9320 with MTK6575 (N9300) .... the components disassembled looks identical to the model we are talking about here on the forum N9300 + MTK6577 ... but obviously this fits different processor that is MTK6575 fact I did a test with the rom of 'N9300 + but does not go .. because of course the file marked scatter of N9300 MTK6577 + ...... detects when loading as MTK6575 and does not go forward .... so I need the original full 's I9320 N9300 MTK6575 ...

OS: Android 4.0.4
Condition: USB Debugging enable
Currently my Tablet behave strangely where when I switched it ON, it did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
I did a backup user data. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
Then I try another approach. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Connect the USB cable to computer. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal with no unlock slider where it did show a USB enable menu. Press back and it did run as normal. Then I disable the "slide the unlock slider" in setting. Everything work as per normal. Try restart and no problem.
Then I restore previous user data, unfortunately I cannot disable the unlock slider. Try Connect the USB cable to computer, the slider still there.
I'm looking for a way of disabling the unlock slider via ADB command.
Another way I can think of is sideload "Screen lock suppressor" apk into system.[URL]...
Now I forget how to push the apk into system. Or, any other apk to disable the unlock slider.
I would like to change text and back ground color of my Listview without building custom rows. Is this possible ?

Are there any guides that show the user how to create a rom from scratch? I've seen multiple guides on creating a rom but they do so using the kitchen. I would prefer something that shows how to make a rom without a crutch.

I want to know how to build CM 10 (not even CM 9 (they used to, but noe stopped) nor CM 10 nightly is released by cyanogenmod). I'm fine with Java, and C++ and web languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, JAVASCRIPT etc. Now I want to know how to build CM 10 for LG E400.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been successful a few times but lately if I fix all the make: errors I get a Java heap space error or a gc Java out of memory error. I have a pastebin and will post it when I get back home from work in the morning! I've gotten this errors running Ubuntu 10.04 building cm9, Codename and cm7. I thought at first it was virtual box. So I partitioned my hard drive and dual booted. What is wrong with my environment and Java?

I have downloaded the source code for my device - Lenovo S6000-H from the lenovo website but after reading many guides cant figure out how to compile it as all the rest use git to get the source. I also dont think I need to change any enviromental variables as its the source for my model.
Using ubuntu 12.04.3 with JDK 6u35 and have the latest Android JDK/NDK I have downloaded and install all needed programs and set up all my paths in ~/.bashrc
There isnt a single make file I can use to compile the whole system or does it need to be done in individual parts? Couldnt find a lunchrc file either so unsure on how to compile it to get a flashable rom..
I have a chinaphone and I'm trying to install a custom recovery so I can make/restore backups if anything messes up the phone, but it hasn't got an official clockwork mod recovery.
I've read that you can build a custom recovery using the ClockworkMod Builder website with the original recovery img extracted from the device,I tried using this method to extract the recovery: http:[url]....
Then I used an App called Online Nandroid Backup which has successfully created a recovery img for me, I ran it through the ClockworkMod Builder website but it says no changes were made.
so far i have downloaded the tcc8902 kernel, it fails to build...

recently I've been learning more and more about building AOSP builds since I'm not a huge fan of the bloated touchwiz rom's for the Stratosphere. I'm looking more for AOSP roms, like I had when I had the Evo.
1. I have all I need to build Android from source, I have the Android source, and I have sources from Samsung for the Stratosphere. This includes the kernel sources, and platform sources, how do I merge these two together?
2. Do I have to build a kernel when I build the rom, or do I build the kernel seperately?
<3>[ 154.264768] bcm4329: version magic '2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g1ad182f preempt mod_unload ARMv7 ' should be '2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g704f542 preempt mod_unload ARMv7 '
I've successfully built the samsung-kernel-crespo kernel from the cyanogenmod git. I unpacked a working ramdisk from a nightly and repacked it with my kernel, when i try to load the module i get the above error, The "extraversion" info that in the "about phone" tab in sittings is 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g704f542, as well as the version of the modules. but for some reason the kernel is looking for that 'g1ad182f ' instead.
I loaded the module via fastboot boot boot.img and i didnt full on flash it to the phone. I backed up the working kernel module and put the new one in /system/lib/modules, rebooted the kernel and the wifi is still giving me an error.
If i try to manually insmod the module and it hangs, if i use modprobe then lsmod it says its "loading" but never loads.
the phone im working on is a nexus s if that matters.
I downloaded the android source code, by following the steps here [URL] ....
then i started building the source code, by following this [URL] ....
while making
$ make -j16
I get the following error (and a lot more similar to them after these lines)
Code:
device/htc/dream-sapphire/libsensors/sensors.c:53:37: error: field 'device' has incomplete type
device/htc/dream-sapphire/libsensors/sensors.c:59:34: error: field 'device' has incomplete type
device/htc/dream-sapphire/libsensors/sensors.c:61:5: error: unknown type name 'sensors_data_t'
[Code] .....
Earlier these lines, the make process does not complains of any missing files as such. Why these errors are coming up since i am just trying to begin and learn this stuff.
What is causing this, and more importantly what should i do to resolve them ?
I am building on Linux virtual Machine and have taken all care that the Environment is right, as given here [URL] ....
i am building on Ubuntu 11.10 64 Bit, the commands were, in order,
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch full-eng
make -j16
