I have seen in various web sites which says that OTG is supported but It didn't on my phone. I have cross checked the OTG cable on other phones which was working, it's just not on my Phone.

basically I'm running FreeXperia's CM9 on my Xperia U, and it doesn't recognise/support my network (carrier) which is Virgin Mobile UK, an MVNO.
I believe this is a general issue with Cyanogenmod, my phone works but it says no service instead of the network name, it's seriously annoying. Cyanogenmod has the Virgin Mobile apns in it's apns-conf.xml, but it won't use these as it can't see that that is the network I am connected to.
Basically my phone should display:
Virgin = when using T-Mobile UK
virgin = when using Orange UK.
Instead it just says no service the whole time?
I'd like to add support rather than just use an app to change the text.
MCC - 234, MNC - 31 and MCC - 234, MNC - 32.

One of the games that I was addicted to, for quite a while, was Airport mania 2. One of the best features about this game is that it had support for multiple users. That way, on our family tablet, I could play it, my wife could play it, and so could my daughter, and all our progress and scores were separate. This was so awesome it's hard to describe. Kind of like having an epiphany.
So the main question is, why do other uber popular games like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, etc not support multiple users.
Tablet are becoming more prevalent these days and most families I knew have one tablet that is shared. Not being able to separate my game scores and progress from those of other family members is really bad. I don't play most games any more because someone else in my family already does and I want to play a whole run by myself.
From a programming standpoint it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard. A separate set of stored data for each profile and a screen to let the user choose which set of data to load. However since very few games do this, I'm guessing there's more to it than that, or they just don't care..

I have a galaxy s3 mini running cm11. It does not support exposure lock ( isAutoExposureLockSupported returns false). Is there any way to enable exposure lock and also white balance lock as it seems to be a software limitation. I have searched around and cannot find where the file that contains these parameters about exposure, focus, white balance, etc. Could I change the isAutoExposureLockSupported=true to achieve exposure lock. The camera also seems to not support many focus modes which have been common to all lower end phones I have owned, and also exposure lock was supported on these too.

If you enable device encryption on devices with external sd card, the external sd card always remains unencrypted. As you cannot really control for every app where to store its data, you have some of your app-data on internal sd (encrypted) and some of you app-data on external sd (encrypted). To me this seems to be a security hole, concerning device encryption. why cm team does not include encryption for external sd cards, like some oems do? They put so much effort in security features and on the other side they leave parts of the local storage encrypted?

I was using Catch notes for few of my personal data until today, unaware of the fact that it is no longer supported. I mistyped my passcode, and ever since it wont allow me inside and access my notes. i tried searching through individual folders, just in case the notes are in plain text. As per other xda user, i checked in the folder [url]...., still found nothing.
I terribly need the information. So I'm thinking of breaking the app and try by passing the passcode/password check. i know this puts a moral question. But based on my situation I'm convincing myself saying its ok, as it is no longer supported!!! and nobody will be impacted, expect myself and of course I need the data.
I have little experience in trying to look through software/apps and tweak them for my necessity, with little success. Now I'm not even sure if this break-in is possible. I'm totally out of date with respect to these kind of stuff.
Note: I use Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), rooted, ver 4.1.2.

What is your preferred general method for instituting animated GIF support in browsers that don't have it? I use the Animated GIF Player app for GIF files, but even the Galaxy S3 failed to play a humorous North Korean GIF the other day when I browsed to the URL on my friends phone trying to show it to him.

None of the Google Applications support external storage, Gmail 4.1.2 won't send documents attached from an external sd card, Play Movies & TV won't allow you to specify a external card as a storage location, pinned Google Drive documents can't be stored on an external card, Play Music sucks up internal memory. Try sending an attachment using Gmail from a Motorola Xoom, a "Google Experience Device".
How do we get Google to support this? Most other email applications support it, but as a Google Apps Enterprise user I want and expect the native Android email application to work.I use external storage on a Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy S3, Razr Maxx and Transformer Prime.

Often I find myself really liking a particular kernel for a particular device. The common problem I have found is that no CIFS support is added to the kernel. I have donated to several kernel devs.
However, usually my CIFS inquiries go unnoticed. I would like to add CIFS support to other people's kernels for my personal use on my device. I presume I will have to decompile and recompile kernels in the process?
Here is the specific case that I have :
Current setup:
Phone - Verizon Galaxy Note 2
ROM - Beans build 22 (Touchwiz)
Kernel - Perseus 36
I would like to use Imnuts' PBJ kernel. It doesn't support CIFS, whereas Perseus does. So in theory I could extract the CIFS modules and inject them into PBJ? I am curious if this can be done on Windows 7?
