I recently bought a Nubia Z5S from China.
I rooted with VRoot because i think it was the only Program for Rooting it(?).
My problem is that because of that chinese Program my Phone has a chinese Roo App (the thing which gives Permission and more).
How can i change that root App permanetly with an other App e.g. Kinguser or Superuser?

I used HTC to bring it back to "stock." Now installing PC36IMG.zip doesn't do anything at all. I get no superuser privileges. I can't even install superuser from the market. Does reverting to stock via HTC Sync permanently disable root? I can still boot up into Recovery manually and go back to a nand backup and all that. But I can't get adb to do anything ("adb denied" error and "su denied" error). I also can't get Windows-Recovery.bat to recognize the stupid phone. Maybe I should return it and get a fresh phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst I only want to root to get rid of the preloaded apps that were on my phone. I know on my D1 I could use titanium backup to do so. Will this method work on the D inc? Also I want the wireless tether back. So can I Just root my phone without having to load a ROM to my phone? Also I have noticed in some of the video how-to's they show some files on your computer that you use to do the root but haven't seen any that show where you get the files from. I am also running Froyo 2.2.

I use LMT's PIE feature to navigate and I find it much more useful. I personally like PIE better so I have more screen space.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a great calendar app and the developer warned in the notes to the last update that the next update would usher in ads. I don't want that. I don't have it set to auto update, so I know I can just not accept the update. But I know at some point in the future, my phone will say "found 14 updates" and I'll just hit "update all" and forget to check whether this app I like is one of the 14. Then I'll be stuck with ads. I'd love to be able to somehow disable it from updating period, or from even looking for updates. Is there a way to do this?

Is there any way to permanently enable developer settings in AOSP Cyanogenmod 10.1 so they stick after a reboot? Disabling HW Overlays is necessary on the EVO 4G LTE with 4.2 AOSP roms, so after each reboot it is a bother to have to remember to enable it.

QUESTION: How do I enable Airplane Mode "permanently" so that a child cannot disable this mode?
EXPLANATION: I have several android devices (Droid Xs, specifically) that have clean ESNs and are not currently being used on any carrier. I also have children (5,3,1).
I've SBF'd, rooted, and removed all unnecessary APKs, leaving only a few educational apps and games for the children to use. And, yes, I enable Airplane Mode. They love having their own little "mini" tablets and being able to be like the grown-ups.
Unfortunately, the oldest has a knack for pushing all sorts of buttons and inadvertently turning the phone's radio back on. I know that I have not associated the ESN with any carrier; however, as I'm sure most of you know, when you dial a number with a non-subscribed number, it still asks you if you want to make the call and charge it to a credit card - at least, this is what the phone did the last time this happened.
So, bottom line, I want to disable my child's access to any carrier's cellular and data networks. And I want to be the only one that could possible re-enable that access.
If there was some way to enable Airplane Mode "permanently" and remove access to all toggles, settings that could disable Airplane Mode, then this would ease my mind. Obviously, I would want this condition to exist only until I either reflashed the phone or had to do something very convoluted (perhaps editing some setting manually via command line or ADB?).
I'm basically trying to rename an audio file to kill the camera click, but found an issue that might give me problems later with other things I might want to do.
Each time I try renaming the file, the file renames itself back to its original name after I reboot the phone. For example, if I add .bak or an extra space in the file name, it disappears once I reboot.
I'm using ES File Explorer on my stock, rooted Sprint HTC One. I mounted the /system path as R/W, and the file is /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg.

Radio Shack had this phone on sale for $14 cash this weekend, I picked up a couple of them to setup to use for WiFi text/music/YouTube phones for my kids.
I have rooted them and now just want to get rid of the Virgin Mobile automatic profile update that attempts to happen when I power on the phone. If possible, I would like to permanently disable the cellular data/voice modem as well leaving WiFi enabled. What app I should disable/ remove through titanium backup to do this?
I have absolutely no intention of ever activating these phones for traditional cell service. They will strictly be used as WiFi android devices. Basically a cheapo alternative to an iPod.
I have set the phone for airplane mode and then enabled WiFi to prevent them from making calls, this is a reasonable solution but they could turn on the cell radio and start trying to activate, although they wouldn't get far as they don't have a way to provide payment anyway.
Problem is their mother isn't the brightest and when they are away at mom's, I would like to be able to text them and not be on the phone with her troubleshooting them constantly.

(You could also use this approach rotate the entire layout to any arbitrary angle.) I think romainguy told me to use Canvas.concat(mForward) instead of setMatrix(), but I haven't updated the code in awhile...................

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to turn off a2dp. In my car, the DInc is plugged into an FM transmitter and paired with my BT headset. The problem is the audio I'm playing comes through my headset instead of the car stereo. No problem says I. I go into the bluetooth settings for my particular headset while it's paired and uncheck the box that tells it to play audio through my headset. Problem is solved. Wrong. The setting doesn't stick.
The next time I got in my car and paired my headset, it started playing through the headset. This time I dug through the menus and made doubly sure that I had ticked the box. I backed all the way out to the home screen and the setting seemed to have stuck. Then I went all the way back into the menu and the settings again. The setting was still there and seemed to have stuck. Wrong. Turned the headset off and turned it back on again. Same thing. A2dp turned back on. How can I permanently disable this? I'm using a BlueAnt T1 if that makes any difference.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new 16gb class 10 sdcard yesterday. I formatted it, partitioned it w/ killertonez a2sd, and flashed Velocity .3 with Turbo4 and OC kernel. When my phone reboots, I get a notification that reads "SD card removed" and it will not load my ROM or anything. I can manually re-insert the card, but none of my data will load; and every time I reboot or power cycle my phone, I get the same error message. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I've wiped/reflashed a few times now. I know I am doing it correctly - is this just a card or phone issue? Is there a script to permanently mount the card?

By this I mean - save them so that from one project to another these settings remain the same without my having to go back into preferences and changing them each time:
1. Size of recently opened files list: 10
2. Displayed and saved tab width: 3
3. Insert spaces for tabs: ON
4. Show line numbers: ON
5. Set MY choice for Code Templates
6. Typing - Automatically close "Strings" - OFF
Parens, square & angle brackets - OFF
7. Automatically insert at correct Position - Semicolons - Off
Braces - ON
I have tried until I am blue in the face to do this to no avail.
When I try to refresh friendstream is gets permanently stuck on "updating" and the only way to get it to work again is to restart the phone.More often than not I can't view updates on my phone because it just gets stuck, but occasionally it will work once. but if I try again I'm not so lucky!Anyone have idea what's wrong? It used to work perfectly before the Froyo update. It's been hit and miss ever since.

In order take pictures I have to physically take a couple steps away from what I am trying to take... Has anybody else noticed this? At first I thought it maybe a hardware issue with the camera but I think this maybe related to the software maybe permanetnly digitally zoomed in?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I logged on to roadrunner via computer downloaded all email to outlook and deleted the mail from the server. (I store all emails locally and not on the email server as they have limits and I do not, just to answer why) Now when I went to the phone all my email was gone from the inbox. It looks like the phone actually synchs to the server and does not store a copy of the email locally. Strange as the deleted emails are still on the phone so they are store locally (what are developers thinking?). Anyway, is there a way, some setting I am missing to store emails locally on the phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Gmail and use the Gmail app as my mail app. Gmail notifies me when I have new mail. My Droid also came with the Email app, which is also hooked into my gmail account. By default, it also checks for new messages and notifies me about them. Naturally, I don't want the double-notifications, and the Email app is also crap at marking emails off as read if I've read them in Gmail. So I went into the Email app settings and unchecked "Send notification." That worked great. BUT... it keeps turning itself back on. If I ever restart my phone, it comes back again with the same stupid notifications. I think sometime it resets itself if it restarts itself after I kill it. how to turn off notifications PERMANENTLY?
