I recently rooted my Jiayu G3 phone, to put a new ROM on it using ClockWorkMod..
Today, I tried to go to CWM again though MobileUncleTools, but it says: "Root your Android First!!!"
So I tried to reroot it, using the bin4ry tools, but it always says "mount root permission denied" are you root?..
MobileUncleTools says its Not Rooted, so i dont know how i can ROOT it again??
I have a ROOT Explorer, but i dont know what to do etc with it. If i try to edit a map in the Root Explorer, it sas: Your Device doesnt' seem to be rooted.

Here is the scenario:
Motorola Droid - Original
1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.
I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?

I downloaded a file with an app and stored it inside of its internal storage, but the file is set with -rw- and I want to change those permissions so is it possible? I know that using external storage is an option but I want to know if I can do it with internal storage too. If it turns out that I can't change the permission is there some shared region of internal storage that I could use? I would like to not force the Android device user to have an SD card.

I recently bought a Nubia Z5S from China.
I rooted with VRoot because i think it was the only Program for Rooting it(?).
My problem is that because of that chinese Program my Phone has a chinese Roo App (the thing which gives Permission and more).
How can i change that root App permanetly with an other App e.g. Kinguser or Superuser?

My company is a Hong Kong based company and my app has been hosted by my good friend in America under his Android Market account. Now that Google announced support of selling app in my region, I want to move the app back so to avoid more hassle to him for tax reporting etc.
Do you know a formal way either:
- Check the existing Google Checkout account from one country to another, or - To move the app ownership from one Android Developer account to another.

Alright, so I'm trying to root and I've managed to get adb shell to work in recovery but when I try to push any of the files I get a permission denied error and nothing can push to it. Has anyone else had this issue or know what I'm doing wrong?

First I only want to root to get rid of the preloaded apps that were on my phone. I know on my D1 I could use titanium backup to do so. Will this method work on the D inc? Also I want the wireless tether back. So can I Just root my phone without having to load a ROM to my phone? Also I have noticed in some of the video how-to's they show some files on your computer that you use to do the root but haven't seen any that show where you get the files from. I am also running Froyo 2.2.

I was wondering what exactly SuperSU permission means. Does it means that if I grant a App SuperSU permission both at the install stage and later via the superSU rooted app, the app then have free hand to do anything on the device.I did a bit of research and ir does seem to be yhe case, wouldn't this be very dangerous to grant this permission to some less well know apps (ie not titanium backup calibre).
Although there is a separate permission for Internet access. Would an app with superSU be able to give itself stealth internet access and thus able to steal sensitive data over the net, or would I still be safe as long as the app dont ask for explicit internet permission.

I am using Omnirom, I have installed Supersu. However, when I open apps that needs Su permission. It does not prompt out the allow permission window. It seems the Su does not work. Do I need to root Omnirom first? Or something I missed?

ASAP, as my device is currently in a bootloop because a boot animation app didn't work as well as I thought it would and my Dell Streak 7 will not boot up.
The device does still respond to adb commands, so there's a chance at saving it.Unfortunately, I cannot get adb push to work, it says no permission when I try to do:
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
It says permission denied. I either need to know how to get adb push working or how to COMPLETELY reset the tablet, including all the system files such as bootanimation.zip.

I am using Eclipse and ADT to develop app on Android API9.While I know how to add permission through xml (text base).I am wondering how to accomplish this with eclipse UI since it looks pretty nice.and I think using that UI could avoid my typo mistake.
When you open up the AndroidManifest.xml, the explorer would let you view different aspect of it.Manifest, Application, Permissions, Instrumentation, and finally raw xml.
I think what I am looking for is in Permissions tab. After I click add->permission, Explorer tells me to fill in the following.Name, Label, Icon, Permission group, Description, Protection level .This is where I get stuck.I was expecting to click->browse... and then there will be some build-in available.like android.permission.INTERNET, but there isn't any.
I would like to know, is editing raw xml the only way to do this in eclipse?

Over the past week I have had the following apps apparently install themselves or be be installed by another app or program, approximately one every day without my express permission:
Big Fish Casino by Big Fish GamesSimple Email Share by App FireMinesweeper by App FireDaily Funny Videos by App FireSimple Email Share by App FireMax Web Search Pro by App FireDownload Manager by App Fire
They appear in my Droid RAZR MAXX HD phone, Kindle Fire HD+ tablet and My Apps on Google Play Store. In an effort to track down the source, I have installed and used: Lookout Ad Network Detectoravast! MobilePermission Explorer
I have not been able to determine what app or apps are causing this. It may also come from my home office PC, but security scans find nothing there either.

Looking for a navigation app with no "Internet access" permission. Maps will probably be loaded manually...
I've spent some time at the market with no results. I'm looking for an old fashioned solution where you simply load in a map into your device (manually), the GPS reciever takes the required signals from the sky and shows your coordinates on the map. That's it.
No internet connection, no fancy 'in store purchases', simply a man and his interactive map- just like my grandpappy used to do back in 1845.

The DroidExplorer shell gives "adb: permission denied" cannot access properly into Coby Kyros MID7125 tablet.
I cannot see my root contents and folders with shell. I have rooted my MID7125 and it has ClockWork recovery too. I have made a backup successfully. I can connect to it with my PC using DroidExplorer. I go into shell and get my $ prompt. I enter adb devices and get the following: "adb: permission denied" Is there a password? If so, what is it and how do I enter it to access properly. How can I see the folders?
I used this method to root. [URL]
I originally used the SuperOneClick method and had the same outcome.

I was looking at this free Kingsoft Office and here is what it lists among its required permissions:
"Access email provider data. Allows this application to access your email database, including received messages, sent messages, usernames and passwords."
It seems highly suspicious to me even without the usernames and passwords part. The app is in Google Play.
