General :: Calendar Invites - What Was Sent To Invitees Through Gmail
Aug 14, 2012
I setup an event with a couple invitees in calendar. I then changed the date. I was curious to see if the invitees were notified (I assume they were). I wanted to see how and went into sent mail, but nothing shows there.
My question is is there a place to see what was sent to invitees through gmail? I mean like an email which is what they get.

Coming from a BB, I'm used to be able to accept incoming meeting requests on all mail accounts. With Android, that seems to have changed; - Corporate Exchange - no problem, invites come in, i can accept - Personal domain (.com) w.email, i cannot accept invites/requests to be registered to the phone calendar - Gmail email - also, no go. not even to the gmail calendar. Is the any app, eventually free app, that lets me accept invites/requests sent to my personal .com email? And, if anyone knows...how does Gmail handle the invites via gmail calendar?

Is it possible to send Calendar invites from my Gmail App? When I try to send an invite the only three options I get are Bluetooth, Mail, and Message (MMS). I can't use the Mail App because it doesn't send e-mail from my Gmail account with my proper e-mail address (I use Gmail to route e-mail for my e-mail at my place of employment). The Gmail App does this perfectly, but I need to be able to send calendar invites from my phone.

bought a new Galaxy S3.I am using the stock/standard Calendar that came with the Galaxy S3. As an fyi - I have my g-mail account configured as my only e-mail on the device and I do *not* have Google Calendar synched. I do not want to synch my device with Google Calendar (longer story). I use Syncmate from Eltima to manually (USB or Bluetooth) sync calendar & contacts between my Galaxy S3 and MacAir.
When I go to add an appointment in the stock Calendar program that came on my Galaxy S3 and I add a "Participant", and give a valid e-mail address for that participant, no invitation ever gets sent to that participant. i.e. no invite is actually sent even though I save the new event and it shows up in my calendar on my devices (and it will show up on my MacAir whne I sync with syncmate). I assumed that the stock Calendar would use the e-mail address (or some other service) I have configured on the device to send the invitation. No invitations gets sent.
What I really want is to get rid of syncmate and be able to do wireless sync of calendar and contacts but NOT have my contacts and calendar data stored on Google or T-Mobiles servers.

know of an app that supports notifications for calendar invites in Android?
Coming from iOS, if I receive a meeting invite, I receive a notification an invite has been sent so I can review it before accepting etc.....I cannot seem to find the same functionality in Android.
As I am using IMAP for email, invites don't show up natively in the email app so I can't get a notification that way. I am using Caldav for my calendar (similar to the protocol I used on iOS) and so was hoping that invite notifications would be supported.

When I'm sending her a invite nothing happens. Just to make sure I am doing this correctly. I go to the calender long press a spot on the calender. Select "New Event". Fill out "What" IE: Dr. Appt. And then fill out "Who" I enter her email address and then press save.

I have a Druid and a I'm wondering when I get a Google Calendar invite via G mail and accept it it pops up asking me what program to use. The list includes a browser and Calendar so I'm sure it's one of these but which is it for sure to set it to default? It also seems to ask a few times so it might need a certain combination of programs to work w/o a hitch. Maybe calendar first to update my calendar with the appointment/meeting then a browser to send a notification to the sender that I've accepted or? Anyone know for sure so I can set them to default properly so I don't have to randomly guess several times each time I get an invite?

Is there a way to set gmail invites to be private by default? Google help says that if your calendar is set to private (mine is) then all invites will be private too. That is not the case though - when my husband receives an invite in Outlook and he has to manually change it to private. So short of using my pc for all invites (where I can manually set them to private each time) is there a way to do this on the Dinc?

When I add events on the phone through the native app it syncs as an invitation in the desktop version. Is it possible to get it to create actual events instead of inviting myself to my homework or doctor's appointment?

I have two gmail accounts. My primary works find on my DX. I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?

I get a google calendar invitation in the GMail app, but when I click on one of the yes/no/maybe links, it opens in the browser, not in my calendar app.
I immediately tried to clear defaults, but none existed on gmail, browser, chrome or calendar app. I tried disabling browser/chrome/ and bionic default calendar, and installed Google Calendar from play store....problem still happened.
(edit, of course browser/chrome didn't open when they were disabled, but I was surprised that Google Calendar also did not open). I'm rooted, but running regualar moto ics
I'm at a loss. I know a number of google updated a number of apps lately, wondering if that broke something.

I've tried for several hours to let this profile work, no success so far . In Tasker I've created the following:
- New Profile , State , Calendar Entry
Title: MuteonMeetings
Location : Empty
Description : Empty
Available : No / Yes (Profile 1) (Profile 2)
Calendar : Google : + (Gmail-adress). I've tried basically all my available Calendars (individually also)
- New Task, Audio, Silent Mode
Mode : On / Off (Profile 1) (Profile 2)
If : (select option) Is not selected. Maybe I need to use it??
And another Task that shows in Text-Plain that the meeting this start (Flash)
And this task is linked to the profile.
I've created another profile and task with the opposite values, to UN-mute automatically after the meeting is over.
I made some test--appointments and synchronized my calendar on phone. When the time of the event hits, nothing happens. Even in the Tasker Log , it says that the profile and task are not started . When I run manually both of the created Tasks for Mute / Un-mute it works. It looks like that Tasker is not checking my Calendar (Time/Events) etc.

I have a Droid Bionic. I like it. But I was recently having some GMail syncing issues and during the troubleshooting for that I uninstalled the latest GMail update and reinstalled it. As a result, GMail is now doing audible notificatrion sounds for new email when before I only had notification in t he notification bar. I can't seem to get it turned off. I still want calendar events and texts to sound so I don't want to silence the phone but I want email and GMail to be silent (Notification icon only).

I deleted my gmail calendar as I was trying to use outlookt sync. Initially this worked fine, but after a few weeks I can no longer sync my calndar - I've tried everything and I"m done. It seems using my google account is easier. So, having said that, since I deleted the gmail calendar, I went into "manage apps" and cleared everything associated with gmail, including my calendar. I then asked me to set up gmail again, and I did. I hoped this would bring the calndar back, but it didn't. So now I'm left without a gmail calendar to sync with.

One of my co-workers with the HTC Incredible asked me a question that stumped me. I'm supposed to be the Android person in the office also!
She was trying to email a couple of her calendar events to her husband. In a calendar event, if you hit menu, then share vCalendar, you get the options of Bluetooth, Mail, or Message. The problem is that the Mail option is only the Mail app and not the Gmail app. Other than going into the event and adding the email address under Guests, is she (and anyone else that would want to do this) SOL?
I mentioned just sharing the entire calendar via google calendar cloud service, but he doesn't have a smartphone and that's not how she wants to share it.

I just picked up the Droid and I've been messing with the Calendar and I found out that you can sync your Outlook calendar to your Gmail Calendar, which will sync to the Droid. So, when I installed the Google Calendar Sync app, it synced my Calendar items fine, but when those same items get synced to the phone, something gets screwy and it adds some of my repeating items every day of the month. I think I've narrowed it down to the Calendar items that Recur every xth (15th, 30th, etc) of every month. I don't find that option in the Android's calendar, so is it possible that this option does not exist? Anyone else have this issue?

I am trialing gcal because at some point i might switch to gmail and gcal completely from outlook/yahoo. All entries that i input in gcal sync to my phone fine but any new entries that i input into my phone do not sync to gcal. I have checked sync settings on my Desire are turned on for calendar and contacts. Syncing via mobile web instead of wifi. All previous calendar items have syncd to gcal but any new items that i put into my desire calendar don't sync to gcal or vice versa. I also can't get any of my contacts from my desire to sync to gmail webclient. (this is the first time im starting to use it for email instead of just android market).

Last night I was reading a guide about improving battery life and one of the things mentioned was stopping Gmail syncing your contacts and calendars.
I'm a n00b so I wanted to ask some questions about this and how much it can help the battery, and also if it's worth actually leaving as it is. If you can shed any light on the queries below I'd greatly appreciate it
1. When I set up my phone I added people as Google contacts rather than Sim contacts but wasn't really sure of the difference and what it would mean. Is it just a case of the phone finding those people on your Gmail account if you select to add as a Google contact or is there more to it?
2. How frequent are syncs with Google contacts and calendars and what exactly is synced between my phone and my Google account? Is it actually battery intensive or does it make very little difference?
3. I set up a Google Calendar a long time ago and subscribed to my girlfriend's calendar, but have deleted mine and unsubscribed to hers today as I just don't use it. Does this mean nothing is then synced with the phone as nothing exists?
I'm trying to get my head around exactly how my Google account links with my phone and how it affects the phone.

How do you sync your gmail calendar to your phone? I'm brand new and tried to find out how to do this on my own but every site I see says you need Outlook. I don't have Outlook so I'm looking for another way to do this. Making your events on your phone can be tedious so it's just easier for me to put them in Gmail calendar.
