View 1 RepliesHave the Android 2.2 update, but voice dialing using my bluetooth headset is not working. Following what is not working:
1. Turned on Bluetooth
2. Turned on my Bluetooth headset - got the headset connected message.
3. Pushed the button on my bluetooth headset and said: "Call _______ at home."
Nothing happens. How do I fix?I used the update.zip file linked at Android Central to manually update to Android 2.2.
So trying to use a Bluetooth headset or hands-free speaker doesn't work on the Ally with v2.1 and the update. Does rooting and installing another ROM fix this? Allegedly this is fixed in Froyo, but who knows when (if?) the Ally will get it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Droid 2 running 2.3 and a Bluetooth headset (Samsung HM3500). Speech-to-text (of the sort activated by pushing the microphone button in any text-input field) does not work through the Bluetooth headset.
Oddly, after initially booting up the phone, it works through the built-in microphone. I then activate and pair my headset. Voice recognition doesn't work through the headset (or through the built-in mic). I then disable Bluetooth, turn off the headset. Voice recognition continues not to work!
I know the headset works. And when I press the headset button, it enters "voice command" mode where it asks me to "say a command." This mode works over the Bluetooth headset! Also, I tested this behavior in the Voice Recognizer of ApiDemos, and its also broken in the way described above.
found a way to use Google Voice Search via a Bluetooth headset?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Galaxy S3 with sprint and I absolutely detest the SVoice application. I use the bluetooth in my car and want to get to the google now app when I push my handsfree button in the car. Everything is stock from Sprint and the phone is not rooted so I'm still on Android 4.1.2
When I pushed the handsfree button before it took me to SVoice.
I followed a tutorial I found on YouTube and I disabled the SVoice application and downloaded an app called bluetooth launch.
I followed the instructions, but when I press the button now it takes me to a screen that looks like this:
This seems very limited in functionality and it doesn't really work well for me. I can't set reminders from it or take notes and the speech recognition seems sub-par.
How can I make this take me to the google screen that I see here when I launch "Voice Search" app"
I didn't see anything in the Bluetooth Launch app that allowed me to pick an application to launch so I'm not sure where to go now.
I drive a VW Jetta with bluetooth, which has easily paired with my last two phones (Bionic and S4, respectively). While Google map's turn-by-turn map navigation works fine with my phone's bluetooth on, in so far as I can see directions on the map, the navigation voice is disabled. Only when my phone's bluetooth is off do I hear a voice. I'm not sure if this is a function of my phone or my car.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem. When I press and hold the button on my Voyager Pro HD headset, it no longer activates voice dialing. I've tried uninstalling all voice related 3rd party apps; I've deleted the data and cleared the cache on Bluetooth Share, Voice Dialing and Voice Search.
I should add that my phone is a Vivid running 2.3.4 and HTC Sense 3.0.
On my bluetooth headset I have a button that when pressed starts android's built in voice dialer.
Is it possible to reassign this button to open another app? Like Google now? Or a Siri clone?
I'm aware that by default, we cannot access the Google Voice Search used in Google Now by using a bluetooth headset and that it instead uses the old Voice Dialer. In my opinion, the Voice Dialer is horrible is recognizing names and commands.
It would be amazing if when we pressed the button on our bluetooth headsets, it would use the Voice Search/Google Now so we could dial, send a text, check weather, sports scores, and all the other great things Google Voice Search in Jelly Bean has brought us.
Are there any developers out there that can make that possible in their ROM? Is there any way that we can make this work at all?
i just observed that all the apps that require voice input are not working anymore properly on my samsung note gingerbread mobile. skype - during echo test, i can't hear my voice back. voice recorder - when i click on record button, recording starts n stops immediately video camera - pops up recording failed message n closes other sip app - i am able to hear the called peron's voice but he is not able to hear mine
The only place where it works as of now is the normal calls through mobile where i am able to have normal calls, rest all apps i tried involving voice services doesn't seem to work. i did not do any recent firmware upgrade or anything.
I'm not receiving any missed call notifications and my voice mail doesn't work anymore...I'm lost I had everything set up properly and one day it all just randomly stopped working....at first I thought it may be just my blackberry but it even refused to work on my nexus s..
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was trying to showoff the features of our phone to a friend and decided to demo the listen to command, but it didn't launch a song it just did a google search.
I have my langauge set to English (US). I cleared the Google Search application data.
Other voice actions work, likes "send text", "navigate to", "call", pizza, "how old is Barak Obama". For some reason "Listen to" just does a google search. SGH-I317M
I was wondering if there was an app out there that can change my voice mail into a text for me. As I am one of those people who does not enjoy opening my voice mail and would liek to jus read a text. is there any app that is out ther (free app)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a Chevy Camaro SS 2012 that has Bluetooth handsfree built in. Works like a charm with my friends LG phone with Android, as well as with my company iPhone 4S.
But with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus running native Android 4.2.2 it will pair just fine, but I am only able to hear the sound and use the mic in the car, but not engage any functions nor access the contacts list. So I cannot answer calls, or make new ones etc...
The problem is not in the car as it works fine with other phones, and I've tried to reset everything on both the phone and in the car and then re-pair them, without any success. Nobody on the Camaro forums knows how to proceed.
i have a problem with bluetooth on galaxy i9100g after ics 4.0.4...

Does anyone have problems with voice dialing or voice texting? I cannot seem to get it to work. Also will swype be available on this phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched from sprint to Verizon so i'm assuming it has something to do with that. I noticed that I no longer got text messages on my google voice app on my phone or on the google voice site. My ability to send text messages on the app is gone, and the text button on the main site disappeared.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my number ported to Google Voice and have been using it to make and receive calls for the past two weeks. I was also using it for texts, or so I thought, but yesterday I found out (by looking at my friends phone), that after I sent him a text, my carrier's number was the one that showed up as the sender, instead of my Google Voice.
I thought Google Voice automatically used your Google Voice number for texts too? Am I doing something wrong in the middle?
I have a Motorola S10 bluetooth headset for listening to music. It's really nice not having to deal with cords and having controls for play/pause and track forward/back right on the headset.
However recently the controls have stopped working when my screen is off. I can't pause my music or advance track. I hear the 'beep' in my headset indicating that a button has been pressed, but my phone isn't getting or ignoring the command.
To make matters more complicated, it isn't a consistent thing. Occasionally the controls will still work with the phone off. This has been happening for a couple of weeks now and I'm having a very hard time finding any regularity to when it will or won't work. There doesn't seem to be a pattern. I also can't seem to trace it to an specific program that I recently installed.
You get the number from Google voice and obviously you can make calls. Why can't you just cancel your voice and text plan and just keep your data package and use it like that? Will T-Mobile allow that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint Galaxy 4. I understand that there is a google speak to text program already installed in the phone but I cannot find it. how to make it work?
Also, it is important to be that a [B]program not only reads the incoming texts but that I can respond to them handsfree via the Blue tooth speaker in my car. Can I do that with the google. program? If not, what is another good program to use?
I have a Motorola Triumph (running CM7) and stream music via Bluetooth to my Sony DSX-S300BTX head unit in my car. The quality and consistency of the audio is flawless and can also use my head unit to change tracks and pause/play music with no issue. I recently began using Google Music on my PC and it made sense to use the Android app for accessibility purposes. The only drawback I have experienced is that the artist and song title info is no longer shown on my car stereo. This functionality worked perfectly using my previous phone (WP7 LG Quantum w/ Zune Pass) and on my current Triumph with the stock music app packaged with any version of CM7. I download and listen to quite a bit of new music and this functionality is pretty much a must have feature for my primary music app.
The only workaround I have thought of would be to sync music via the Google Music app and then listen to it via the stock music app. This is less than ideal due to the fact it involves 2 apps and takes away the option to stream music not downloaded to my phone. Also, the Google Music app has a much nicer UI compared to the stock app. If you don't know of a specific fix, but have some knowledge of A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles.
seems like a good idea to me. would it work?
