View 1 RepliesHave the Android 2.2 update, but voice dialing using my bluetooth headset is not working. Following what is not working:
1. Turned on Bluetooth
2. Turned on my Bluetooth headset - got the headset connected message.
3. Pushed the button on my bluetooth headset and said: "Call _______ at home."
Nothing happens. How do I fix?I used the update.zip file linked at Android Central to manually update to Android 2.2.
Anyone try voice dialing over bluetooth in 2.2?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo trying to use a Bluetooth headset or hands-free speaker doesn't work on the Ally with v2.1 and the update. Does rooting and installing another ROM fix this? Allegedly this is fixed in Froyo, but who knows when (if?) the Ally will get it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Blueant S4 bluetooth speakerphone, Im trying to use the voice dailing feature with the new 2.2 froyo release and it sucks.....really. Even not using the blueant speakerphone and just using the phone trying to speak commands directly at it in a quiet room, it dosent even work. Example I tried to call my mother today when prompted I said "Call Mom" the phone decoded that as "Call Aubrey" lol which is a imporvement from the "nothing found" errors ive been getting....is there another app to replace the stock voice dialing application that works better?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got the froyo 2.2 upgrade and can't wait to use all the new features! I am trying to figure out how to use the latest addition of voice command dialing via bluetooth. I have a parrot hooked into my stereo and need some direction on how to set it up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a newb when it comes to Bluetooth; tonight I borrowed a Moto HS850 and tried it with two ROMs on my Eris:
- HTC/VZW stock 2.1 pre- July OTA (= leak-V3)
- Tazz Froyo CM6 2.0
Results:
No problems pairing or connecting, answering, disconnecting, or last-number redialing.
I could NOT initiate voice dialing at all on the stock 2.1 ROM, and on the CM6 Froyo ROM, the headset could initiate the voice dialer, but it appears that no voice input was being transferred to the voice dialer.
So, I guess I have two questions:
- are all the Froyo CM6 ROMs essentially the same when it comes to Bluetooth capabilities and bugs?
- ignoring cases of gross interoperability problems (can't pair/can't connect), are the results obtained highly sensitive to the brand and model of the paired BT device?
According to THIS there is no voice dialing over bluetooth on the EVO. If so this is a big bummer. I was so used to using it on my WinMo HTC Touch

View 5 Replies View Relatedas many if not all are aware who use the Motorola Droid that the bluetooth and voice dialing is a joke. Phones from 6 years ago and every one since function better than the Motorola Droid does in this aspect. With over 800,000 units said to be sold(Moto Droid)... the number of stars for this issue are very low.... In fact the overall participation on google code is low i think.I'm asking everyone to go on Google Code, log in with your gmail account, or do whatever you have to do to be able to 'Star' the issue. Posting replies on their site is not necessary without relevant new info to the issue, and only dilutes the issue. Staring alone is enough and very helpfull

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new bluetooth headset, and I set it up with my Hero only to find *gasp* no voice dialing? The whole point of having the headset is to not have to look at the phone while driving! The owner's manual of the Hero says it supports hands free profiles, as does my headset(obviously) but there's no voice dial. Unbelievable!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI received the OTA 4.4.2 update earlier this week, and now the Bluetooth voice dialer has gone full retarded. If say "call Susan mobile", it responds, "did you say call Susan work mobile". what combination of words I use it never give me the correct option. If I answer yes at any of the suggested options, it invariably responds "no entry, try again", because, of course, there is not "work mobile" entry. I never had this problem prior to the update. The only work-around that works is storing the number is a speed dial number and using "speed dial 2" as a voice command, and it will successfully dial that speed dial number. But, of course, I can't put everybody in my contacts list into a speed dial number, and even if I could, I wouldn't e able to remember everyone's speed dial number.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem. When I press and hold the button on my Voyager Pro HD headset, it no longer activates voice dialing. I've tried uninstalling all voice related 3rd party apps; I've deleted the data and cleared the cache on Bluetooth Share, Voice Dialing and Voice Search.
I should add that my phone is a Vivid running 2.3.4 and HTC Sense 3.0.
Well now that voice dialing works for us, another step backwards it wont work when screen is asleep. Works fine when screen is on but as soon as it goes to sleep, voice commands won't go through?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCan one of you Milestone owners please tell me if you are able to use Bluetooth Voice Dialing since updating to 2.1? In other words, can you pair a BT headset, then hold or double-tap your headset button to initiate a voice call on the Milestone?
If so, how is it working? Is there software anywhere in your phone labeled 'Nuance'? Please let me know. If you could post a pic or vid of how this is working on the Milestone, that would be much appreciated.
According to Motorola, BT voice dialing was added to the Milestone in 2.1:

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis isn't really Incredible specific -- more of a general Android 2.2 complaint, but the inability to access Google Voice Actions/Search over bluetooth is a HUGE missed opportunity by Google, in my opinion. I mean, I LOVE the new voice actions -- it's such a great feature and really makes the phone easy to use. However, it's inability to work over bluetooth makes it difficult, if not impossible to use in the car -- a place it would be perfect for. If you want to use it in the car, you basically have to scream loud enough so the phone mic can pick you up over the road noise and it also requires holding down the search button to initiate, so it's not exactly hands free.
As it stands now, if you access the phone via Bluetooth, all you get is the voice dialer, which only provides the ability to dial names and numbers via voice commands. Imagine if you could access voice commands via bluetooth and create text messages and emails while driving, notes to self, get directions, etc. Since voice actions can also handle calling contacts, I'm not even sure what remaining value the "voice dialer" has over the Voice Actions/Search functionality. At a minimum, Google should at least provide a setting for specifying which voice app (voice dialer or voice actions/search) would be accessed when connecting via bluetooth.
Anyone know if it would be possible for a developer to come up with a custom application that would allow voice actions via bluetooth? My guess is that Google will fix this eventually, so maybe I just need to be patient. It just seems like it would be relatively easy and could be included with an update to the Voice Search app.
My husband bought an Incredible the other day and he has had one problem that is potentially a deal breaker. He uses his phone in the car a lot and part of that he uses a bluetooth headset. When playing with the phone he found he could not simply press the button on his jawbone to bring up voice dial (which I mean, we could do on motorola flip phones many many years ago). Even if he puts a shortcut the the "voice dial" application he needs to unlock the phone by pressing the top button, slide the unlock screen, press the app, then say his command.
If that were not enough there is no repeat back to the headset, you must manually confirm the selection. I don't know about you but to me that seems to defeat the purpose of voice dialing, which is meant to keep your hands free and eyes on the road. I have seen gesture search recommended but that would not be ideal to use while on the freeway. Are there any workarounds to make this work properly? I was wondering if on other phones the root community has developed their own solution to the problem on other phones as well, that might give him a little hope for when the incredible gets rooted.
The Voice Dialing program in the phone is a total joke.. You have to have the phone in your hand, activate the voice dialing, speak your request, then manually confirm your request on the phone its self.. I thought the whole purpose of the voice dialing feature was for hands free capabilities.. The way this program currently works renders it utterly useless. I have a Cardo Q2 setup for my motorcycle helmet.. which has a bluetooth phone link setup in it.. Its basically a bluetooth headset thats integrated into the helmet. Everything works fine with the G1 phone except the voice dialing. Does anyone know of a Voice Dialing app that basically revamps the factory program so that you can use voice dialing w/ your headset? I searched and searched but couldn't find any real answer to this question.
View 22 Replies View RelatedAfter watching many news clips about the new iPhone I figured out my inability to disconnect a call was caused by the way I was holding the phone and that is what the proximity sensor is all about. Rather poed that neither Verizon or Motorola knew what I was talking about. According to TV News this is a problem with almost every new smart phone. I now have an interconnected problem. I am having trouble voice dialing a call. Apparently many others are as well. What is the significance of the different NAME fields in "Contacts"? Which one will the Voice Dialer look in? Any help about other Voice Dialers for the Motorola Android 2? Any suggestions as to how to better use the built in voice dialer(s)?
