General :: Bluetooth Mouse Pairs With Phone But Recognized As Keyboard?
Sep 19, 2011
I've got a cheap Speedlink bluetooth mouse from eBay and it works fine with a PC; it pairs up nicely with my Desire HD (running RCMix3d Runny v1.3 ROM) too.
Oddly however, the icon in the 'bluetooth settings' page is not of a mouse, it's an icon of a keyboard.
Pair it up and there's no mouse pointer; move the mouse to the right and the homescreen moves to the next screen - left and you go to the left screen.
Seems my mouse is recognised as a keyboard, oddly enough only emulating the arrow keys. When running Cyanogen 7, it was recognised as a mouse - so what's different here?
Is there anyway of jimmying Android to recognise my mouse as a mouse and not a keyboard?

I'd like to use my phone as a bluetooth keyboard for my ps3. Hardware wise it should be possible. Anyone heard any way to make this happen or any apps?

I just got a 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. One of the features it has is hands free calling with controls built in to the steering wheel. Another feature is bluetooth streaming audio. One of the first things I did when the car finally came in was to pair through the stereo so I could listen to pandora without having to use the AUX jack.To use the hands free phone system, there seems to be a separate pairing process activated through the steering wheel controls. It mostly walks you through the process, but once it gets to the actual process of pairing it continually says "searching..." until it times out. This is all slightly frustrating as the audio part seemed to work without a hitch. Even more frustrating, I've gotten responses from subaru forums saying that people with the EVO 4G didn't seem to have an issue getting either to work.
One thing I will note is that the icon next to the entry for the car in my bluetooth paired device listing appears to just be the earphones. When I plug in headphones with a microphone, I get an icon that reflects that. Here are the things I'm going to try next:start over and pair the phone first delete entry on my DINC for my jawbone headset (probably won't need that anymore anyways)

I was wondering if anyone has tried this combo. Can you plug your phone up to these three things and pop it to a larger screen and use a mouse and keyboard? It would be pretty cool if you could... I see a lot of fun possibilities with that type of setup.

I have just taken delivery of an Android ADP2, which I plan to use as a development platform, as well as my personal phone. I have played a bit with the on-screen keyboard and have determined that some designer must have much smaller fingers than me, so I am in the market for a keyboard/mouse that works over Bluetooth.

I know the Dell Streak is noted to have the ability to use a Bluetooth keyboard with it. And a mouse, I think? Will you be able to use a bluetooth keyboard with the Captivate? mouse? It runs the 3.0 bluetooth, would that be an issue? Can 2.0 bluetooth devices work with 3.0?

Is it ever so possible for the android OS to make it self look like a mouse/keyboard through bluetooth to allow remote control of a computer without having to have any HOST/SERVER software running on the computer being controlled? If this is possible, that means many devices like the PS3 and shi* would be able to be remote controlled by an android phone no matter what because bluetooth mice and keyboard are accepted by many devices.

I listen to Pandora in my car via Bluetooth every time I go somewhere. It's slightly annoying to have to launch the app every time. I'm wondering if there's an app out there that will automatically launch a program when my phone is paired with a specific device (like the Pioneer deck in my car).
I'd like my music to start up automatically when I start my car.

Friend of mine told me today that ones of his co-workers have their phone set-up where it is bluetooth connected to his laptop, His laptop is connected to his home television which makes the tv act as his monitor, then he uses his android phone as the wireless keyboard and trackball for the mouse. He wasn't sure what phone exactly he had, or what app he was using.
My questions are. Is this possible with the eris? If so, is there a specific app you need to get? I know that the Eris doesn't do data over bluetooth, so I don't know if this is something that won't work now, but may work with an upgrade to 2.x. This is something that I would be interested in doing.

I tried searching, but was unsucessful in finding an answer. My Eris, and now the replacement Eris sent by Verizon, will not connect to our Panasonic KX-TH1212 home phone system. It worked fine before the upgrade to 2.1 and my wife's Droid still works fine with it.The Eris will pair with the KX-TH1212, but will not connect; I've tried it multiple times with both Eris phones. The KX-TH1212 requires a passcode (0000) to pair. After failing to connect, the Eris only provides one option (unpair) in the long press menu. The Droid has three options (connect, unpair, and don't remember this one).I would appreciate any help or similar experiences to fix this issue.

Any list or link to a list of keyboard and mouse commands for our tablet?
I have a bluetooth mini keyboard* with a built in mouse and I would like to be able to control my tablet from my couch while it is connected to my TV's HDMI. However, I cannot figure out how to do basic tasks with the keyboard. The keyboard is this type: [URL] ......
Also, I'm not sure if the commands are tablet-specific, Android specific, or if they even exist at all. (I have searched XDA and Google, but because I do not know exactly what keywords to use, I am coming up without answers!)
Shortcuts I mainly need:
1-3) The three icons in the lower left of taskbar (they don't appear through HDMI): Back, Home, and the Prev Apps
4) Change homescreens/swipe left and swipe right (I can long click and move the mouse to do this, but it is difficult to do with my mouse since it is a knob type)
5) Long hold
6) Any other commands... heck, let's make a database if it doesnt exist already!
In case it matters: I am using ICS 4.0.3 stock (with root).

I have my desk setup with 2 monitors and an Android Tablet sitting in its dock right next to that. I have been doing some research and found a lot of apps that allow you to use the tablet as a monitor for your computer. But that is not what I want to do. I was wondering if there was a way to setup the tablet so that I could move my mouse over from the monitor onto the tablet and control the Android Tablet with my computer's mouse and keyboard in the Android environment. So this way I can run things like Calendar, Email, Hangouts and other apps with my mouse and keyboard just by moving it over from my main displays like I can between a primary and secondary screen.

Is there an app that can use the bluetooth to use the Incredible as a mouse? I currently use gmote but that is limited by requirement of Wifi. You would think that a bluetooth app would be easier/no brainer.

I'm using GT N8000 with android 4.1.2 and chroot Ubuntu Raring for my daily work.. I manage to use framebuffer as display WITHOUT turning off android UI using Linux Deploy, all went great but one thing missing is since android and ubuntu shares the same display, input problems pops in, I currently disable s-pen cursor on android so it will work best on ubuntu, as well as bluetooth keyboard.
one thing left out is my Bluetooth mouse, its bugging to have dual mouse pointer on screen whenever I boot ubuntu and each didnt match others in calibration.
if only I can disable android mouse cursor just the way I can disable s-pen cursor in android, this will make a perfect machine.. now I'm stuck using only s-pen as pointing device in ubuntu to avoid erratic mouse behaviour. I understand android have idc as input config, and I've located my dev/input for each devices, I'm looking for a way to disable mouse cursor in android to use it solely on linux.

I have an HTC Inspire 4g running Mustaavalkosta's unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM. Everything works great, except my Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000, which is an HID Bluetooth keyboard (no SPP). I get a proper PIN exchange and it pairs with my phone successfully, but I can't actually type anything with the keyboard, and it does not appear in the Languages and Input section of the Settings app. The keyboard itself is good because I can use it with my laptop and an iPad.
I've tried apps like BlueInput, MyBlueCon, and Bluetooth keyboard easyconnect, but all fail to make a connection with my keyboard. In the case of BlueInput, I get a message that "this Android does not support Bluetooth HID."

I'm trying to pair my bluetooth keyboard, which worked perfectly under Gingerbread, but will not pair under ICS. Basically, the keyboard will not go into pairing mode until I give it a pin, and ICS won't give me the pin until the keyboard is pairing. Is there any way to tell ICS what pin to expect before trying to pair? This is the sequence I am doing:
1. Put keyboard in discoverable mode.
2. Select the keyboard in the bluetooth menu.
3. Type in a pin on the keyboard and hit enter.
4. A dialog comes up on the tablet telling me what pin to use to pair. (I have to type in the pin in the keyboard for this to come up)
5. Pairing fails after about 1/4 of a second.
