the application AutoStarts (URL>...), which can be used to disable apps that starts automatically (boot time, auto) no longer updated since 2011. Moreover, it does not seem to work in JellyBean, as some apps I know starts in the background is not shown in the AutoStarts app.
WHICH service is starting, so it can actually break the app. Any recommendation for AutoStarts replacement?

Now that Flash Player is no longer being updated for older versions of Android and is completely incompatible with ICS+, couldn't browser makers simply build Flash Player into their browsers, similar to the way it was built into SkyFire for Windows Mobile a few years ago? Couldn't it be made available as an addon for Dolphin HD?

My Xoom Tablet has been running the older verison of the youtube app since I got it because I really liked the interface and don't like the new version my GN has. So I was just changing a wall paper on my Xoom and all a sudden BAM it reboots and starts back up. a little strange but then I see my notifications going off. [xapp] successfully updated. I was like WHAT ..I check whats going on and I see Youtube at 90%.. you bastard all my apps updated and the check on all google apps has been applied to auto update.
I never heard of this happening so i did a quick search on the Google and i only saw this thread.Google Play Store just auto updated all my apps on its own WTF - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
now i got to search for a old apk of the older youtube. or see if a factory reset will give me the old version back.
The android auto complete only starts after two letters, how can I make it so the list appears when the field is just selected?

While I understand the latest system update has a lot of problems, the one issue I have had has been going on for quite some time. My music player autostarts. The player I am referring to is the 'MUSIC' app (the one where the icon looks like a blue circle and has a green musical note on it.) The trigger seems to be when I get calls from a blocked number. My company's outgoing calls are automatically blocked so each time I get a call from a coworker my phone launches into whatever song I last played instead of ringing. It doesn't matter if the phone was muted - the volume is on so everyone gets to hear the latest tune. Along with the unexpected musical interlude, I don't get any indication of the incoming call.

Then I updated again 2 days ago and again, cannot see MMS from certain people.. HTC phones I think. I was on the phone w/ ATT and Samsung yesterday for about 2 hours. I finally did what they said-backup on Kies and factory reset. Not only did the reset not fix the MMS issue, Kies did NOT back up my phone. Just like that, my phone has lost everything. Because of gmail, I got my apps back... but all blank, like I had never used them. Lost my texts, contacts, etc.. and still not receiving MMS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated my Nextheme 2.1 droid to the new Froyo (gonna check out Fabs newest in a few minutes here) but one thing I have noticed is that for some reason whenever my droid is connected to a computer it auto starts USB Mass storage. I cannot for the life of me find out where I go to stop this from auto connecting, sometimes I just plug my droid into the computer to charge while I am working. Normally when I want the USB storage enabled I use SD share widget.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Mpai 809t octacore phones, almost the same specs (first one with 1gb ram and 20130303 rom version and second one with 2gb ram and rom 20130122).The most recent rom version has the Preview window perfectly working, the oldest no. I noticed that the fault is the missing Apk Suspend Window.apk and his Library (libhallwindowjni.so).
Copying the apk and library from one rom to the other does not the trick. The service never starts at boot. I tried almost everything, also copied all framework and system apk files from one rom to the other, nothing... the apk never starts at boot.I would like to develop an Ota update for this phone to fix this issue, so i would really like to understand the reason of this behavior.
I have an issue with the chrome browser starting with a completely black screen. At first I thought it was only my last phone (RAZR HD), but the problem is also present on my Verizon Note 3. If it were just an issue on a single phone, I'd probably ask in specific phone forums, but it's happened on two different phones now.
I'm presuming that the problem might be caused by an app I'm using, but the problem is intermittent so I can't tell if the issue subsides when I uninstall certain apps.

I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.
This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.
Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?

Yesterday i flashed the latest PAC-MAN ROM (http:[url]... on my SGS+. Then i wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache. I rebooted, and then came the problem: at the "Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 with cyanogen(mod)" screen. There it stucks, and after around 5 minutes it starts again rebooting and hangs at the same point. I am using CWM Recovery v6.0.1.0.

Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?

What's worse it keep reappearing whenever I erase the notification either every 5 minutes or in 5 seconds. I have discovered that it's not appearing when I put the phone in airplane mode so something is trying to be downloaded, but I can't stop it what what I've tried (restarting the phone, clearing the cashe, etc.)

(Bad charging port).It was rooted and everything was backed up with Nandroid, Clock work mod, Titanium,a root backup and on my computer.I was running the Synergy rls1 Supersonic rom.I cant seem to find an updated Root. Unrevoked tells me that my Firmware is too new.I've also tried a few manual roots,but it seems my phone is too new. Can I use a Samsung phone update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter getting the 4.0.4 update pushed from Verizon, my Motorola Bionic has disappeared from adb radar. terminal command "adb devices" returns nothing under list of devices attached, when its usb connected. (I've updated my android sdks. to latest platform tools).
I have tried each of the 3 usb settings 4.0.4 offers (Mass Storage, Media Device(MTP) and Camera (PTP), with debugging both on and off. Still no joy. I have killed and started adb server and rebooted both the macbook pro and the bionic. BTW - the original android os it started with had a "Charge Only" mode, which was the usb connection type that adb connection had previously required, but that's gone from this 4.0.4 upgrade for some reason.
I have searched numerous forums and threads. Those forums that did have posts about adb not finding connected device, mostly suggested rebooting and updated sdks. A couple suggested editing some config files, but I couldn't locate those.
I'm running osx lion 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro. I can provide phone system info if necessary. I've copied below the info I've gathered about the usb port the device is connected to from USB Prober.
Using usb prober the device appears as "Composit device: "XT875" in the bus probe. Port Info shows as: 0x1018, not captive, external device, connected, enabled. Device Descriptor shows as:

I don't have it set to auto update, so I know I can just not accept the update. But I know at some point in the future, my phone will say "found 14 updates" and I'll just hit "update all" and forget to check whether this app I like is one of the 14. Then I'll be stuck with ads. I'd love to be able to somehow disable it from updating period, or from even looking for updates. Is there a way to do this?

Yesterday I updated my galaxy s2 to android 4.0.3 and was very happy with the display resolution. I also loved the simple sky blue colored background which I can't find it later after playing around with themes.
Since I am a fan of Go Launcher theme, I inadvertently changed the theme to something else. What I noticed is that it updated my screen resolution as well. All of the sudden, I start seeing big icons and Widgets clogging the homescreen. The sleek look of ics is no longer visible. It was very obvious from the settings window that the screen resolution is changed (to smaller resolution). I was very disappointed and hence removed the theme. Unfortunately it didn't restore the display settings.
If the latest updates really has higher resolution than gingerbread then is there a wway to restore that for my phone? I thought of doing factory restore but reinstall of all the apps and configuring them is no fun.
I updated my Droid 2 last night to v4.5.621 and now my status/notification bar is gone. I have not found where to cut it back on.

Xposed Framework (installed 2.4.1) won't stay up to date after a hard reboot (app_process is a red dash) and thus my modules don't work at bootup. There actually was an issue when I first installed Xposed: after installing and then updating and rebooting, it wouldn't say it was up to date until I did a soft reboot. Now after a hard reboot, I have to reupdate xposed and then soft reboot for modules to work.
I've tried reinstalling Xposed, no go. SuperSU seems to work fine with my other apps too.
