Are there any apps available which can preserve home screen layouts for a Galaxy S4 which uses the Atom launcher.
The reason why I ask is that I may need to do a clean wipe and I don't want to have to waste nearly half an hour or so recreating the folders which store the apps that I want to be on each home screen every time I do a clean wipe to install a new Version of echoeROM.

Can you have Multiple Home screen Layouts? Like Like swapping themes but layouts. I designed a bunch of custom wallpapers with corresponding Custom widgets. I'd love a way to just swap between different ones with out having to re-set up all the widgets.

I put in folders apps in the home screen pages but after i turn of my player the apps deleted from homescreens is there a way to keep the apps in the home screen pages even if i turn of my device?or an app that make the apps return like they were before i turn off my device?

I am using NOVA launcher on my Galaxy S-5. I have just two home screens set in the app. I see this vertical bar with 4 sections on far right when I am on the 2nd page of the home screen. I see the same bar on left hand side of the screen when I am on the 1st page of home screen. How can I remove this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my Sony Xperia T (running Jelly Bean 4.2.1) started having a problem - when I select any app to open on my homescreen they are completely unresponsive, the touch registers on the screen but all of them refuse to open. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to fix the problem, first I turned the device on and off for a punt, which didnt work. Then I went through all my apps to make sure there was nothing out of the ordinary on my device and as far I can tell there isnt. I next installed a task manager app to kill all processes, again this did nothing. I then installed a virus scanner to scan all the files on my phone but nothing was found. I then decided to clear all of the devices files by restoring it, this fixed the problem for about 10 minutes before the problem returned. I then re-installed Jelly Bean 4.2.1 on my device, which again fixed the problem only temporarily. when using the device to do anything else the touch screen is completely responsive, so I have no clue why all my apps just refuse to open.

When I install new app - shortcut doesn't appear on my homescreen. I remember long time ago (I think that was in ICS stock launcher) - shortcuts would appear. But not anymore.
Automatically add widgets checkbox is checked in the Play Store Settings.
I even reinstalled fully Nova. No success.
My aunt gave me a Samsung Galaxy S2 and everything was fine, except that it didn't let me register to the network. The next day it told me that it had to do an update so I did the update. After the update the home screen turned black and pressing the buttons didn't do anything. After a while an error pops up saying "application is not responding" and then the screen just stays black. The top bar works just fine and I can even go on the internet, play games, practically do everything. I did a factory reset by pressing Volume up + Home + Power 3 times already, but the only thing that changed is that the language turned into German.. the screen stays black. It had nothing to do with Rooting or Flashing, because I don't even know what that is.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a game where there's a screen that, for the most part, is shared by four different activites - but a key portion of the screen will be completely different, depending upon which activity is active. Basically, on the left will be an image of the player and along the bottom there will be a row of buttons (let's say for Armour, Weapons, Magic, Skills). This leaves the top-right portion, which will need to dynamically change to represent the button pressed. (So, one moment the top-right portion is the armour selection activity, and the next it's the weapon selection activity, and so on.)
Is this possible? Can I have a layout within a layout and dynamically point the nested layout at a (nested) layout.xml of my choosing? Or, am I looking at just duplicating most of the layout four times (for the four different activities?) Or, am I going to be looking at linking the four activities to a (the top-right) view component, and then having to dynamically construct all of *that* view's child views based on the currently active activity? Well, that's about as much sense as I can make this question make.
During a call, I will hold the phone away from my face to see how many minutes I've been talking. Normally, it will correctly show me the call screen, however, sometimes it will flash the home screen briefly before going back to the call screen. There seems to be no rhyme or reason about when this happens. Even worse, sometimes it flashes the home screen briefly and will go to a blank screen. I will then need to press the home key in order for it to return to the call screen. This happens sometimes, as well, when I finish the call. Previously, I had the Not Call Log application installed but I've removed it. Also, I previously had my screen timeout set to one minute but changed that to thirty minutes. But, this behavior still happens

At times when I am browsing through my apps in the applications window, the phone suddenly goes back to the home screen after about 10-15 secs of inactivity. It vibrates a little bit as if the back button is being pressed. I am 100% sure I am not pressing the back button.
Other times, when I start up an app (gmail, facebook, internet, music player, etc) it goes back after about 10 secs of inactivity. It seems to always want to go back to the home screen and it will keep going back till it arrives at the home screen.
I just got my phone two days ago and haven't done anything much on the phone yet.
Where in the source are the layouts for the built-in UI's?I would like to reuse (copy) a couple of the contact UI's rather than recreate the wheel.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo last night I went to change my battery and when the phone booted back up, a lot of programs were not installed anymore and I was getting about 3 other programs that were force closing right away when it came on.I tried to reinstall the apps, but I was still getting some force closes and general funny stuff going on.So I factory reset it and started from scratch again today. I got most of my apps reinstalled and thought it was fine. Then just a little while ago, I noticed that I couldn't browse the Internet or use the market. I rebooted and it was fine.A little while later I went to use my phone to make a call and when I unlocked it, all my home screens were blank! Reboot again and that fixed it.

Hadn't seen that before. Is that a default thing or can I change it (did look rather cool though). I usually use the pattern lock rather than the default swipe lock, so I'm wondering if it's to do with that default setting.

View 3 Replies View Relatedsupporting multiple screens (sizes and resolutions). I´ve searched not only this forum but many different websites and the android documentation but I´m probably doing a small mistake so things are not working properly.
Well, my main layout was designed with a HVGA screen, and it works great. When I try the same app on a WVGA, FWVGA, WQVGA or FWQVGA, I always get an unused space in the end of the layout because the screen ´s "heightnes" is proportionally bigger than HVGA´s.
So I consulted the documentation and decided to give a try on resource qualifiers, so I then created a nonsense UI and placed it on layout- large, created a new AVD using the WVGA skin and launched the app. Well, all I got was my old and not well stretched layout. The same happened to a FWVGA AVD.
This is the first problem. The second is: medium high density medium size screens and medium density large screens have the same resolution: how can I create a layout that is loaded for both, but not for (for example) medium size medium density or small size medium density screens?
This is hard to explain, but all the videos i show for the droid x shows that when you finger scroll through screen left to right and you get that little thing that pops up on the bottom where you can tap the dots to take you to certain home screens.in that same video i see that the phone arrow for apps and contacts icons move out of site while the dots pop up. until you let go then the navigation dots dissapear and the phone arrow for all apps and contacts icons slide back up.The same thing for deleting an app, when i see someone in the droid x video tap and hold and drag down to bottom to delete the phone, contacts and all apps moves out of the way.
