Android :: Exchange Calendar Integration
Aug 27, 2010Currently I have my Gmail calendar of course, in Red I have a shared Google calendar with the wife, in Green this is all very slick, all display entries in the built in calendar app and looks great. Can I somehow display my works exchange calendar, in a different colour, just as simply. Not bothered about mail or contacts really, just the calendar.

Jul 14, 2012I am pretty sure that in ICS when a calendar event had a registered location, you could click on the location triggering the maps app to show you where it is on the map. I've noticed that in Jelly Bean this link was disappeared. The location is shown under the title of the event but you can't click to view it on the map. Is this happening to your phones too?

Aug 5, 2010My personal phone is the Moto droid (verizon), and I use it for all my personal stuff... gmail, internet browsing, google calendar, personal calls/contacts, etc.
It would be convenient to view my work email (corporate exchange server) on my droid.
If I enable the exchange account on my droid, how much control to I cede to the corporate IT department (I really don't trust them with any of my personal info)?
I heard that they can (also heard that they can't) wipe my phone. Is that true? If so, is it just my corporate/exchange email, or the gmail, personal contacts, google calendar (etc)?
Can they access browser history? Phone logs? personal contacts?
Basically, I'd like to keep my personal and work lives as separate as possible, but it would be easier to carry access my exchange email from that personal device.
HTC Incredible :: Exchange - 2007 - Integration
Apr 30, 2010I am BRAND new here, and my Incredible showed up last night. I could not be more thrilled! This is my first smartphone (unless you count the LG Dare I had), and I am absolutely FLOORED. However, there is one thing driving me bonkers: Exchange integration.
I've tried about everything on my end. I found another thread where somebody had to have an exception for his account applied in Exchange (which worked for his HTC Hero, IIRC). I work in the IT dept. I'm fairly certain I could talk the network boys into letting me do that, but we can't even find that setting in Exchange 2007. Assuming that is even the problem, they're a little to busy to play with me and my new toy (I think they're just jealous ), and I can't do it myself.
Can anybody confirm whether the security exception is what my actual problem is, and where that setting is in Exchange 2007? If I could get them a little closer to the problem, they'll probably be a little more apt to get around to it.
Android :: No Contact/Calendar Integration At All?
Aug 6, 2010Considering the access Google has to programming genius and all of the brilliant coders out there developing apps and hacks, one thing never ceases to amaze me.
The utter lack of any integration between Google Calendar and Google Contacts.
You would think that you could just go to a Contact Record and from that record click on a button to create a Calendar Event. A link would then be created so you could easily call, email, message or navigate to the Contact for whom the event was created.
But no. You can't. Really, to me, this is remarkable for its lameness.
If you want to add email addresses of attendees to a meeting in Google Calendar, you must type them in from memory! There is no button to click which lets you select from a list of your Contacts and have the email control populated automatically. This, my friends, is PATHETIC.
Palm did this well 10 years ago.
C'mon Google, seriously, what the heck is up with that?
There is just one app that comes close to getting this right, "ContactEvent" and it's free in the Marketplace. Still, that is only half of what the functionality should be.
Android :: Task App With Calendar Integration?

Does such an app exist? Preferably one that is similar to Astrid?
HTC EVO 4G :: Facebook And Calendar Integration
Jun 9, 2010I'm new to the Android system and just got the EVO 4G when it came out last week. Alas, I'm not very familiar with the workings of the system. Of course, I have facebook so I integrated it into my phone. Well, all of my FB contacts birthdays were automatically imported into my calendar. How do I get rid of this? I have absolutely no interest in knowing that today is the birthday of someone my sister went to high school with (ie, random people I'm friends with on FB). I actually went through and deleted a lot of "friends" on Facebook to try to remedy the situation, but their birthdays are still on my calendar. Where can I turn this feature off? I tried manually getting rid of the birthdays on the calendar but my Android ignorance prevents me from doing this too.

Dec 27, 2009My mother-in-law has the best application on her Pre - it's an app that downloads pro sports team schedules to the calendar allowing for notification of upcoming games. I have searched all through the market place and haven't been able to find anything similar other than Sports Tap widget. Has anyone seen anything like this? If not, somebody should develop this. I would think it would be pretty popular.

Jun 1, 2010Recently my exchange calendar has shown duplicate entries for the items. It started as two entries and now it is three. I have disabled the calendar for a week, but they showed up again after I re-enabled it. I deleted my exchange account on the phone and re-added it - no changes. How to get rid of the duplicates? I don't have an issue deleting the exchange account from my phone and removing any data files - I just need to know what to remove to clean it up - before I re-add the account.

Jun 15, 2010I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

Jul 31, 2012I had this problem on ICS and now on JellyBean ROMs on my Samsung Galaxy S.I have added two exchange accounts to my device, to sync calendar and contacts primarily.When set up it all works correctly, but after a day or so (length of time varies), the calendar and contact sync stop working. Email continues to work but the other two just stop. I do not get any erorrs, and removing the account and re-adding them fixes it for a short period until the same thing happens.

In case you accept the appointment it should import to your calender of choice. Unfortunately I dont find such an app. Until now I'm using Kaiten Mail and Business Calendar Free on S2 with cm9.

May 16, 2012I have an Exchange account with my school that I sync my email and contacts to my android phone with no problems. However, the school made a shared calendar for our class schedules that I added to my Exchange account (by adding the URL), but this calendar will not sync to my phone. If I create my own events in my personal calendar, that works fine and shows up, but the calendar that I added from the school will not. It shows up just fine on Outlook on the PC.
My current solution is to just add that calendar to my google account and sync it, but the problem with that is that our class schedules can sometimes change suddenly and gmail doesn't sync very often, which has led to some problems for me in the past. I would much rather have the direct syncing of the calendar to my phone instead of through google.
What makes it more aggravating is that my friend has no problem syncing the calendar with iOS, so I know it should be possible. I've tried using Touchdown but that has the same problem.Here is an image from the Outlook Web app showing both calendars

Oct 7, 2010I have an HTC Evo with Android 2.2, Software #3.29.651.5, Kernel 2.6.32.15-ge2fb08e. I have a gmail account setup in K9 mail and am using the mail app to connect to and sync with my companies Exchange server. I have mail, contacts, and calendars setup to sync for all accounts. On my Android calendar app I see both the gmail and exchange calendar items, and in google contacts I see both gmail and exchange contacts. But the calendar events are not syncing with google calendar. I've tried deleting and recreating the exchange account with no luck. Can someone tell me if there's a trick to doing this?

When first connecting it showed synching email, contacts and calendar. Problem is that I see the emails and can answer no problem. But how do I access my exchange calender? Also when composing new mail or forwarding I don't have the company contacts available through exchange, I only have the contacts on my phone which comes from gmail. Is this normal? We are on exchange 2007

I got rid of my iphone 3g for the HTC incredible, as so far its been great.I'm looking to have my gmail set up on my HTC using their exchange, or push email (rather than imap). I've got that set up, but had to download a new mail client to do so, as the built in mail client wont allow me to sync my work calendar (only the calendar) though my corporate exchange, and have gmail set up with exchange as well.I was wondering if there is an exchange calendar only app, or an email app that will sync my corporate exchange calendar. I do no like the interface of the email app I downloaded. I would like to use the built in email app with android 2.1 for my Gmail, and a different app to sync only my work calendar.Note, I do not want to sync my work calendar to google calendar, and then to my phone. I'm less than impressed with google calendar, and thats one more hoop to jump through / point of failure.

Feb 27, 2010I have a Nexus One running the stock Android 2.1. I've got my normal gmail account that works flawlessly, and also my company's email hosted on google apps. Both accounts are set up, and both work for email, but only the gmail account seems to be able to sync my calendar. Is this a limitation of Android, a setting in the calendar, or a problem with the built-in calendar application? If I can't get the corporate calendar to show up, it seems like a pretty big limitation.

Jan 6, 2010So I am a proud owner of a brand new Nexus One. I love it, but have hit a small hitch.
I am previously an iphone user and got quite a lot of use out of syncing my work (exchange) calendar onto my iphone and using it on the go to keep track of meetings and such.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this is native functionality in Android 2.1? I was able to set up my work email account with active sync, and that works fine... but when I look in the Accounts area of settings and select my work email, there is no option to sync Calendar.
I have read that you can use the google calendar desktop application to sync your outlook (via plugin) to your google calendar, which the Android device could then pull down... unfortunately, like many users in a professional environment, the IT group here refuses to give me admin privileges on my work computer. I tried installing the google calendar app into a non-protected directory, but when it tries to activate the Outlook plugin it simply fails with an error listed as 1008. Upon looking that up, it of course says it is user privileges related.
In addition, if my work PC is off, I wouldn't get those new meetings pushed to my device anyway... so that is a big hassle as well.
Is there a free way to get this done WITHOUT the google calendar desktop app? I have all the account info I need (hell, I already set this up many times on my iphone over the years)...
EDIT: Also I would like to state that I don't want a separate calendar app... I want to use the base Android one. I'm fine with getting an app to enable that, but I don't really want to have 2 different calendar apps to go through...
Nexus :: No Exchange Calendar
Jan 6, 2010I got my Nexus One about an hour ago.. love the size of this phone but a big problem for me... there doesn't seem to be a calendar app that syncs with my Exchange account. I live by my calendar so this is a big problem for me. My Droid has this function.. I don't understand why Google would leave this out. I guess there's always 3rd party apps.

Dec 2, 2009I've got my email and calendar syncing with my Exchange server every couple of hours, but if I make a change to an appointment from my PC and want to sync my Hero calendar immediately, how do I force an immediate update? I can refresh my email, but I can't see a calendar refresh option? I worked it out. Just go to home screen, menu, Settings, Data synchronization, Exchange ActiveSync and there's a Sync now button at the bottom of the screen that syncs mail, contacts and calendar when you click it. Perfect. Would be nice if it was a little easier to get to though!
