I'm in "progress" of making my first game on the Android platform. Since I'm out of ideas it'll be a remake of the classic C64 game "Deflektor". This is what I've got so far. Now, what I really lack is the ability to debug the app from withing the IDE (IntelliJ).

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn many games there are actions that you need to hold Y and then press B , but for snesoid, since I am using my same thumb on the virtual keys in an attempt to press them both at the same time, it doesn't work. It will release y and then press B or just release y. This becomes apparent in games like Super Mario World when you run, then jump, you lose the momentum and just do a regular jump. On the droid x, the only solution I have found is to set B also to a hardware key, like one of the volume buttons, then you can see how its supposed to work when you hold Y then hit B. This affects many other games like DKC3 (jumping while holding barrel). Any help or ideas?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm making a simple 2d game for the android platform, which works perfectly from version 2.0 and above, but when testing it on a 1.6 device, it crashes immediately. On running the debugger, it seems that I'm getting a null pointer exception in the thread class. I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas as to where the problem might be.
Maybe there's some compatibility issues with this code that I'm not aware of--I'm very much a beginner when it comes to using threads.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've searched this for like 3 days and I either suck at search or you (yes, YOU) NEEED this.I reckon we need to list ALL the cross-platform multiplayer games out there.That is games that can be played Android vs. iPhone vs. Nokia vs. Facebook etc.The premise here is all my friends have iPhones and Facebook (noone owns a nokia anymore but we'll include it for diversity's sake) and lonely old me sold off my slowPhone/iCrash and now have a Desire - BUT i still want to play multiplayer and i might even get a few to join the revolution when i showcase my superior controls/speed/installynessability etc.

Except for some minor issues (slow as crap emulator being the biggest) I've really enjoyed it so far and would love to continue developing for it. The question is: What are your thoughts on the future of Android as an environemnt for the game market? I read an article somewhere that said that the IPhone is the preferred platform for games, but since I don't own a Mac and won't bother with some complicated work around to get it to work on Windows I'm currently not interested in it. So, what do you think? Is it worth spending alot of time (and potentially money) on a larger Android game project?

The computer shows puzzles based on numbers, shapes and colours: the player must solve them and touch the correct answer to go to the next round, trying to be as fast as possible. We implemented 3 different modes that must be unlocked by playing more and more. You can play games under the "Training" areas so to train yourself and challenge your friends locally (there are 6 slots to store the profiles of the players).
Online Challenge
But the core of 1 Minute Game is the online challenge, which allows the players (once per day) to play a special match and to send the result to an online leader board. Each score shows also the nationality selected by each player try to get your country at top of the ranking. The ranking is visible both through the application and visiting the web site of the game.
Free DLC
In order to make the game more appealing and let you enjoy it for more time, we are developing new games to be released for free in the next versions of the application. For example, this morning (it's a matter of minutes) we will release the version 1.1 which contains a brand new game in the training section: The intruder.
