Android :: Widget.AnalogClock Set Time?

Is there a way to have the android.widget.AnalogClock display a preset time? I don't want to create a custom AnalogClock, I just want the regular one to display a time to my liking.
I need to obtain time from my AnalogClock as a String and pass it as argument in a method. Wonder whats the method of AnalogClock to return current Time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to create an AnalogClock that can display a preset time, given as a parameter.
And I want to draw between the background and the hands. I want to paint the area between the minute-hand and location of the hour-hand at a preset future time. This is to let the user see how much time remains for the current activity.
I thought that I could take the AnalogClock object and extend that. However, when I create a new function that is essentially a copy of one of the old ones, I get errors on the com.android.internal.R.styleable.AnalogClock* objects: "com.android.internal.R cannot be resolved"
How can I import these objects? I've read something about declare-styleable, but I cannot figure out how to apply that to my situation. (Sorry, I'm really a Java n00b)
For instance, the internal objects refer to several graphical things, such as dials, hour_hand and minute_hands.
Here's my code: http://pastie.org/713276
I want to make my own Analog class by extending View.............but it is giving
CODE:................
Using Appwidgets, If we use TextView in layout provider xml then, we are able to set the text in Provider.java using remoteViews.setTextViewText() method.
Similarly, if I use AnalogClock as AppWidget in xml then, is there any method available to change the android:dial value using RemoteViews or AnalogClock api's in Provider.java ?
For Ex- I need to load two dial png's based on AM or PM.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to change widget size at run-time? I want to provide users with an option to chose size of the widget from configuration utility but can't figure out how to do that. The only way to specify size of the widget seems to be to explicitly do that in AndroidManifest.xml

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a facebook event in my device's calendar that is displaying the correct time on the main calendar, but showing the incorrect event time in two different calendar widgets I've tried, as well as the event list in the Facebook app.
To make matters more complicated, the facebook app is displaying a different incorrect time than the widgets.
I've removed the facebook event from my calendar, reinstalled the widgets, done a battery pull, resynced, and the problem persists.
I think the host changed the time of the event after I first synced it to my phone, but I'm not sure.
On the default scenes (themes) there is a weather widget with the date and time as well that appears on the home screen. Now that I am making a custom scene, I can't seem to find this widget. Anyone know where I can get it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI live in Glendale, Arizona. My clock widget is too fast or too slow by 1 hr. I went ot the VZW Store and they told me it is a glitch with the Eris software. It is registering as Glendale, California making it 1 hour behind and when it is an hour ahead it registering the next town over which is Peoria, but the phone thinks it is Peoria, Illinois. I am a little turned off because if the GPS is turned on this problem should not occur. When I try an set the time to my home location instead of current location, it does not allow me to click it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRunning into another issue regarding my S4 here. Before the 4x2 clock widget I had would always be in sync to that of my carrier's time. Now, when I scroll around my phone or go back to check the time or even after unlocking my device, the widget is a good minute or two behind of my actual provider's time. It takes itself about 30 seconds to correct itself, I was just curious if there is anything I can do to fix this issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy calls to getFromLocationName() always fail the "first" time I start my app. I catch the IOException which has reason:
Unable to parse response from server
Then I make a second call and it succeeds. Once things are "awake" all future calls to getFromLocationName() succeed, it's just that first one, and there is a ton of latency.
I haven't run this on a device yet, just in the emulator. This seems like a network problem, but it is so reproducible I'm thinking I'm not initializing something properly. I'm using Android SDK 1.1.
How can I make progress bar to measure time (pause/playing/total time) of different video which is streaming from website?
