I am wondering where is APN setting stored in emulator/devices. and what's its file format, in xml or anything else?
Under gallery, I've tried setting wallpaper from images stored. I'm experiencing two problems:
1) When using the green border to select the part of the image I'd like, it never stretches to the full size of the image. It maxes out at about half the size of any image.
2) Once cropped after clicking set as wallpaper, the wallpaper shows way too zoomed in and I lose at least half the image I cropped.
In an Android device: Where is Email stored ? Please can anybody tell me?

I have created my database using sqliteman browser b/c I have to insert a bulk data before the app starts. I have four tables in my db and call each in different activities and created all on the sqliteman. after the data is inserted I pull back the db onto the data folder of the emulator. it works perfect on the emulator but failed on the device. when I try to pull my db on the real device, it shows access denied problem

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app that will allow me to view photos stored on my computer. I can access the computers on my home network from my Incredible using Astro or ES File Explorer "LAN" and open various file formats such as .pdf, .doc, .xls fine on my Droid; however, I am unable to open and view any type of image files (.jpg, .bmp, .gif, etc.) unless they are stored on my SD card or in the Droid memory itself.
When I try to open a image file stored outside the Droid, nothing appears on the Droid screen. I have installed several "image viewer" apps, such as Astro and 3D Gallery, none of which seem to be able to open remotely stored files. When I "click" on an image file, I see "Loading Image", but all that appears is a black screen with left and right arrow scroll buttons -- no pictures. Any advice, other than to copy and paste image files to my SD card, which then allows me to open and view them? I did get the 2.2 update.
I am saving contacts on my Xperia X10 and am not sure if they are saving to phone or the SIM card? How can u tell where they are being stored? Just now I am going into phonebook and selecting new contact from the sub menu once I hit the key on the left it then displays.
First and Last
Phone Number
Email Address etc.
I take it this will store details to phone memory? Is there a way I can store contact only to SIM card and if so how?
In Settings it shows a phone number for the device when running the emulator. It shows the same phone number with several different AVD's. Is this number the same across all development systems (i.e., is it hardcoded or random or...)? Can it be set to some specific number and how to do that?

emulator -avd myavd -http-proxy http://168.192.10.1:3100
Please note am using an IPAddress instead of machine name on my proxy server name. Is this possible with the emulator?
Or what am i doing wrong? Am using Android SDK 1.6
I wrote a http proxy on Android 1.5 four months ago. It can work properly on both 1.5 and 1.6 emulator, with APN proxy setting to 127.0.0.1. However, when i port this app to 2.0.1, it's not working anymore. Did browser on emulator 2.0.1 change its behavior? It seems that the browser no longer consider APN proxy as http proxy anymore. Or it's simply a bug on emulator?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just used this getDeviceId() to retrieve the unique id of the phone, but in the emulator it gives 00000000 when I try to display it. I know it makes sense to do that but can I spoof a device id for testing purposes. I need to setup about 4 -5 android devices in my emulator to check the functionality of the app that I have written, and the entire app revolves around the unique id of the mobile device. I just feel, maybe it should be there in the DDMS but I am not able to figure it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to check for memory leaks in my Android app using the DDMS feature in Eclipse. When I launch an emulated device, the threads display properly for the emulated device, starting with 8600 and up.
However, when I connect my Droid to the PC, the device shows up just fine in DDMS. The logcat is generated correctly, and I can view the file structure. However, threads do not display. I get "no client selected" in the Threads pane, and there is no drop-down icon next to the device listing.
Do I need to change some particular setting in Eclipse? Is this maybe a driver issue?
Is there a way to check if our code is running in the emulator vs a real device? I'm using a Map View which requires a signing key. I'm using the signature of the eclipse debug key when running on the emulator, but this won't work when I build a release version. I think I need to have a check to see if I'm running on a real device, and set it to the real release key at that time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using the 1.5 SDK. I read in 1.0 that rotating the device would cause onCreate() to be called in our apps (possibly recreating the entire app?). Is there a way to test rotating the device in the emulator? I just want to see what happens, I don't have a device to test this. Will the behavior be the same for 1.5 as it was in 1.0?
