I am looking for a weather app that has a scrollable widget. Letting u scroll through different citites.
So i think the Weather Widget is already on one of the screens when you get the phone.... i deleted it and then added it to a different screen....
My problem is this: When i go to add a city by name or zip code and hit search, i see the pop up window for searching for a split second and then it disappears and it doesnt come up with any cities for me to select....
so basicly its not letting me add any cities... anyone else having this problem?
I have created a widget to display some long text. I want this text to have "marquee" effect . I've already set TextView propertie ellipsize="marquee" but it doesn't works . For example Stocks widget of HTC
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs far as I have read in the Internet and official documentation, it isn't possible to make a scrollable app widget. Also all my tries failed. I even tried to subclass TextView to implement my own scroll method, but nothing worked. Are there any ways to achieve that? there are solutions if you use for example htc sense or home desktop ++, but i want to make it available to other users which don't use this

For example a list like friends-stream from HTC shows or many other widgets around.... do i have to code my own list-implementation for a widget.
I seen an app that had a scrollable dock widget, that allowed you to put apps in it. I think you could put up to like 20 apps in it. does anyone know the one I am thinking of?

My only question is if anyone knows if it does wetaher alerts like the weather channel widget does. I love TWC widget as it has awesome wetaher alert capability along with an easily accessible radar map that's fullly interactive - anything similar on beautiful weather?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?
It just says 'my location' on the home screen, shows the time but not the weather.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

HTC Weather Widget broken?
Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
So I got the 2.2 Update. If I try adding the News & Weather widget, the weather is always wrong. Always has the sun on all night and temperature is wrong too. I checked all options of course, should work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow I get my weather/clock widget to show the local weather? it currently shows the weather in my capital city but it used to show the local weather of the suburb I am in when I'm in different suburbs? It also used to update the weather every hour and show a sun in the day and a moon at night but now even at 12 at night it still shows the sun. I've also set the weather sync in settings to update ever hour. does anyone know what it could be thats different in my phone now?

The news portion is working fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wife really likes the weather animations with the stock Sense UI weather widget. However, she is running LP and cannot use that widget anymore. Does anyone know of a weather/clock widget that still gives you those animations that can be used with LP?
I have beautiful widgets currently, but it doesn't show the full screen animations like she likes (windshield wipers if it is raining, bright sunlight when sunny, etc.).
One of the things I liked about Sense (I'm rooted now and running the Second Wave ROM) was the HTC weather animations when the screen was unlocked. After installing Widget Locker, I noticed an option to turn them on and now I have them back! I also installed the Weather & Toggle Widget and installed the weather skin that looks just like the Sense weather with the flip clock. The annoying part is that when it's sunny, or partly sunny, the "sun animation" from Sense doesn't perfectly align with the Weather & Toggle Widget weather icon. I know, I know, it's a minor problem and goes away when the animation is done, but the lack of symmetry sometimes annoys the hell out of me.

View 5 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire this week as a free upgrade from Orange, really impressed with it and glad i resisted from getting the iPhone. Anyway a question if anyone can answer, why doesn't the weather animation constantly play/scroll, it only does it once when you turn on, up to now(this week) its been sunny/cloudy so only seen the clouds scroll across the screen once but you don't see them again. My brother has an HTC but i don't know which one apart from its a Windows OS not android and his constantly scrolls. Is the android OS different than the Windows or do i need to activate something in the menus?

In one of my androids activities, I have several widget in a vertical linearlayout. The length of this layout is bigger than the screen and thus I cannot see the widget at the bottom.
In the Emulator, is there a special scroller to implement or a particular action to do to be able to scroll up and down?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to scroll a Gallery widget pragmatically? I see Gallery inherits scrollTo() and scrollBy(), but that scrolls the entire widget itself, not its content.
Is there some obvious way to do this that I'm missing, my searches are coming up empty? I don't want to have to do a copy/paste/hack from git hub if possible.
I'm working on a little Player with Playlist and use the Gallery Widget to visualize the Playlist. I tried to scroll the Gallery Widget manual to an active item, but the Widget don't support any functions to do this. There are several methods in the Gallery.java class
movePrevious() moveNext() scrollToChild( int pos ) but the visibility of this methods is default or private. So i can't override this functions, if I Inherit from Gallery class.
can any one please help for a solution to scroll the Gallery manual?
It just says, "Sorry, weather is currently unavailable". Anybody else seeing this?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a lot of quotes that i would like to have displayed as a widget where maybe it'll change daily to a different quote.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the Android API examples there is a Snake game. This game uses a class called SnakeView, which inherits from TileView.
I am doing something very similar to this. I am inheriting from TileView to create a class (SkyView), which will become a square board for a board game (similar to the board for Checkers).
However, I would like for my game board to be 400x400 pixels in size, which will be bigger than the screens of some Android devices (such as the G1). And I would like for the user to be able to freely scroll and drag the board around with their finger (both horizontal and vertical scrolling/dragging).
Can someone please point me in the correct direction for implementing this? The board must be no smaller than 400x400px in size. And however much of the board that can be displayed at once on the screen, should be displayed at once.
Should I wrap my SkyView widget in an AbsoluteLayout and use Scrollbars? If so, what Scrollbar properties to I need to use? I played around with Scrollbars in both directions but couldn't get it to work. Is there another view layout I should put it inside? Code examples would be nice! Thanks for the help. I am at a loss with this one.
