This may have been addressed already but I couldnt find it..I am new here and have had my DROID for 2 months..I am currently using chompsms and I like it but is there another text app that shows a contact picture next to the text bubble during text messaging..Kinda like your contacts list?..I know it sounds a little silly but I just think it would look neat if there was a little picture of the person next to each balloon.

On my Pre when I logged into FB it synced the pictures with all my contacts from google apps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell this weekend I took the plunge after months of reading (trying to get smarter) & rooted my Ally with Universal Androot 1.6.2, (worked flawlessly), then installed ClockworkMod w/Rom Manager v2.5.0.4 (had some issues at 1st) Had the damnedest time Rebooting into Recovery, even manually(send/menu/end). The app acted like it was doing what I told it to till it got to rebooting. the triangle with the android would pop up for about 1 second then it was blank followed quickly by the LG logo where it would bootup like nothing had been done. I got this same result when "Reboot into Recovery","Install ROM from SD Card","Fix permissions","Backup current ROM". But being the bullheaded soul that I am I just keep pushing & occasionally things would happen. I finally got to do a Nandroid Backup. Then I got brave and flashed my 1st ROM, Raptor v0.1. Again with the persistence & slowly success. However things seemed slow. So I got brave once more and flashed the Velocity 0.2-aloha. I will go back to Raptor to try it out but for now Velocity is doing better for me. Both of these flashed using "Install ROM from SD Card" option with zipfiles. Now things started working better Having less problems with CWM, however the "Download ROM" still doesn't seem to work, (error occurred while processing the ROM list). If you're still with me, just tried to answer anticipated questions from all of you, I'll get to my questions; 1. Is there a way to backup my text messages & complete contacts info including pics that I've added to each contact, so that I can transfer these things when I tryout a new ROM? 2. Any suggestions on a good Apps2SD app?. Any info on RageXicity screenshot on the Raptor release thread about what clock app that is, what dock that is, & where did that wallpaper come from??? I liked the layout but don't know where to get it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with getting Facebook profile pics to show up with the majority of my contacts. Here is what I've done so far:
1) Synced my Gmail contacts with my Droid
2) Set Facebook settings on Droid to Sync Contacts
At this point, roughly 3 or 4 of my 70 contacts showed their FB profile picture. I am able to view people's FB profiles by clicking on their contact profile, but still no picture. After clicking on some contacts' profiles, their picture will appear, but this has only worked a few times (~3/20).
Does any one have suggestions on how to get FB profile pictures synced to all contacts that have profiles available?

I removed some bloatware using TB and removed the apk responsible for updating my facebook contacts profile pics. I notice this yesterday as my wife had changed her profile pic and status they have not updated in my contacts. This has been going on since the night I 2.2 it and rooted and removed the bloatware. Does any body know the apk (system app) that needs to be re-installed. I have downloaded the system apps.rar file and have all of them, I just don't know which one it is.
How do I sync my friends' Facebook pictures with my Contacts list? Right now all of the default pictures on there are the little blank gray dude.

They have a strike through line on them. I need the social networking.apk and motoblur contacts sync apk. Can somebody up loaf or let me know how to restore them. Some people don't like setting their cameras to stamp the date on the pics taken but I like doing it on certain occasions. I don't know if the G1 does this because i haven't read about it, but it'd be a cool little feature to have for future camera apps don't you think?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)
Can you download pics from the internet and how is it done? I know about PC syncing by the way, I just mean while like out some where on break away from a PC.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhy are my contact pics so blurry? The only answers are for the Motorola droid and the "pathways" you take are difrerent than the droid eris. Ex: got mms with pic, long pressed and saved. Went to album, selected pic, pressed menu button, set as, then chose contact. I figured that was a standard way of doing it and it worked. Except thay when i get a call from contact the picture looks pixelated and blurry. But all other pics not set as contact loom AMAZING. Any help? Do I also need to wait for that Google update talked about in a previous thread about the motorola droid? Another quick question.......my keyboard is lagging super hard while typing (only on this site btw) is there too much going on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnybody have any thoughts why handcent will not send out a pic? I tried with the pre-installed messaging app and it went through fine. Is there any setting I may be missing with handcent.I checked the settings option and found nothing. It tells me it is resizing and everything, and it has worked in the past. I'd really prefer to use handcent, but will switch to the other if need be I guess.
