I've tried eris lightning, but it's just not cutting, and i've tried ayori snow and that just plain didn't work. Basically I'm looking for one with the Clock and Weather widget on it and live wallpapers. also what is all of this kernel talk about, i dont even know what that means or does?

Motorola Droid :: Where To Find Decent Themes?

Sep 16, 2010

I took the plung today and finally rooted! I'm am so happy right now. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. But anyways, enough with my bragging.

I have read all over the place that there are themes available for different ROMs. However, I am having a very difficult time finding them. I am currently running BB 0.4 and wish to install a theme. I have read that smoked glass is a very cool theme.

Can anyone please help me find themes for BB 0.4. Also, if anyone is willing to throw together a post with links to themes for different ROMs, I will be willing to put your thread in the sticky at the top of this forum. I think it would be a good idea for us "noobs" and veterans to be able to easily find a comprehensive list of themes available for the different ROMs floating around.

General :: Boot Smartphone As Non-smartphone In Power Saving Mode

Aug 23, 2013

Is it possible to reboot an Android smartphone as a non-smartphone(Like a Nokia 1100) ? Just enable only services to make phone calls and everything else remain disabled(Slow down the CPU to the lowest clock speeds, lower bit depth, turn off all on-board electronics other than those necessary etc). Motivation is to save power. In my phone most of the power is consumed by Android OS (and not screen). I was wondering if I had a mode like that I could keep the phone alive in case I can't charge the phone immediately, by switching into this power saving mode.

Motorola Droid :: Another Adult Nature Style Animation Booty Boot

Nov 10, 2010

Here's another adult nature style or realistically in a sense pg13 boot animation. Plain Pic Preview included in thread. Get it Now click Here! If you missed the other one you can see it here on Android Forums:18 + Adult Boot Animation

For some of my other non-adult animation work visit:here, VERY IMPORTANT:

After downloading, for users that are not already familiar with this you will need to make sure that you rename the boot animation when ready to use to the name bootanimation.zip exactly as I have it spelled there and I do believe that it is case sensitive.

Also, if you are a newly rooted user or are not sure how to replace this I recommend using root explorer - and then follow these steps:

1.Rename file xyz.zip to bootanimation.zip
2.Copy or Move File
3.Go to System/Media
4.Select Read/Write setting
5.Paste and click OK to overwrite(possibly copy this to another directory for a bakup before overwriting or you will lose the bootanimation already in your phone)
6.Long press to generate menu and select permissions
7.Select rw-r-r or use all permissions
8.Select Read/Only setting
9.Reboot and Enjoy

Another option is to:

put the bootanimation.zip, using terminal into data/local ...
typing command:

#su
#cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/

Keep the spaces it won't work without them also do not type the # symbols
# = superuser privileges
$ = no super user privileges

If anyone encounters any bugs, etc... or you just need a little more help on how to use these just post and I'll and I'm sure other users too, will be more than happy to do my/our best to correct any issues or assist in answering your questions.

I truly hope everyone enjoys and please consider donating (link at bottom) if you like my or LiQuID's hard work as we are struggling and can barely make it right now. If you can't we understand too and enjoy bringing you more enjoyment with your phones, we just ask if you can spare anything to please consider trying to help out a family in need.

Android :: Fancy ListView Background

Oct 22, 2009

I have a ListView backed by customized ArrayAdapter where each item has 2 LinearLayouts - one I call head, and the other one - body.

The body is hidden (gone) until user clicks on the row at which time it slides out. The second click (on the head) will hide the body. However if user clicks on the body it brings another activity. All of this works just fine, here comes the problem:

When user presses on body I want a visual indication of the action just the same way as regular list item will flicker an orange background when pressed. I'm not getting this by default since (my theory) the onPress event is intercepted by body's view and not processed by the list item.

The first thing I tried was to execute body.setBackground('#ff00ff') (never mind the color) in onPress event. That didn't work since (I suspect) there's no repainting after the call. Then I dig a little bit more and decided to use <selector/>-based background. I defined body_background.xml in drawable folder and assigned that to the body's background property.

There I noticed that background will only change if the even is processed by the list. For example if I set <item android:state_selected="true" android:drawable="@drawable/selected"/> then when I press on the head - the background of both elements (head and body) will change, however when I press on body - nothing.

So to summarize my question - how do I change background of the child element in the list item if I assign custom onClick handler to it? Any hints will be greatly appreciated

Motorola Droid :: Any Decent Alternative To Android Live?

May 5, 2010

A few weeks back I started using the full version of droid live (has another name now but I forget it at the moment) to stream various music and talk radio stations (both national and international) The program worked great, as I was able to easly connect and stream music/talk with virtually no drops. There is one local sports talk radio that I listen to the most. All of a sudden, in the last week or so, live has had serious problems connecting to that one specific station. Once connected however, the program actually works fine with no drops. it just takes repeated attempts to get it to connect. I know it is not a signal issue, as I get great 3G in my home and business. Sent an email to the developer a few days ago and have not heard anything back yet. So do any of you know of any decent programs that might rival droid live?

Android :: Any Decent Applications That Allow To Create Folders Or Albums For Pictures?

Jul 24, 2010

What I need to do with my Incredible is so simple and I am really amazed that this phone's photo application is as bad as it is. I have about 100 photos. I need to put them into individual folders or albums (I just need a way to separate them). I have tried everything but it does not appear as though the Incredible has this capability. I did a search and found some instructions using Astro file manager however this did not work for me. Therefore, is there any decent apps out there that will allow me to create folders (or albums) and put pics into them? I also need to somehow backup the photos (probably directly off of the SD card onto my PC).

Android :: New Smartphone Recommendations

Sep 1, 2010

I just realized that I posted my last thread in The Lounge rather then Android Lounge which I intended to Makes sense why I haven't gotten any replies. Anywho, this is what I posted earlier Just signed up for your forum to ask for your recommendations for my first smartphone. Now, I'm leaning towards an android mainly because I don't want an iPhone and it seems like it has some great feature as well as a lot of potential. Now, the only issue is that I live in Canada and I'm with Rogers. (Sim cards)My current criteria is that I want a touch phone and it has to support a sim card. External qwerty keyboard is a bonus!I'm sure you all get requests like this all of the time but some help selecting a new phone would be great. I tried doing my own research on what phone to buy but I'm really not great with hacking phones and whatnot to make things work with my carrier but I'm willing to try.tl;dr:Need smartphone with sim card and touchscreen.

Android :: Should I Get Smartphone Or Laptop Or Wait?

Aug 12, 2010

I had a Toshiba laptop which after years I sold it off. I am never a big fan of laptops in the first place as my desktop is better, faster and I use multiple screens as work computer. As far as I can tell I only need a portable computing device mainly for office programs like microsoft word and powerpoint, and data storage. I use photoshop but I don't think current smartphones can support it yet. I am reluctant to get a laptop as I know that it will be underutilised. Since my contract phone runs out in June 2011, should I wait for better stuff to come or get a smartphone now? What I really want is a a mobile phone with Sony Vaio P series minature laptop for occasional work. Am I asking too much for the current crop of smartphones?
